Since we're on job related news: decided to suck it up and do the 45 minute phone interview for the other position, even though it is a step back in seniority and days (I love working nights). The good: The new boss seems like a bang up guy, and it's a 5 pay-grade jump from where I'm sitting now. Guess we'll see.

Good luck, man!

Tobus: Thanks. They weren't hot; they were women maybe twice my age that likely had families of their own. Pleasant, but not flirtatious and I'm kind of glad because I didn't go in prepared to be double-teamed.

good deal mwbeeler,

Flirting; man flirting is a good thing; was on vacation for like a week in Tucson and firted a whole lot with a lot of very fun girls; heck in the mall, restraunts, hehe everywhere; was great fun; lots of smiles; little jokes, just light friendly flirtatious stuff; its a good thing.

channeled vomit guy on that! as coffee spewed forth followed by laughter!

Officially getting started tomorrow with my temporary job. Looking forward to it; should get some experience and a good boost to the resume. Not looking forward to the 4 hour round-trip commute from CT to lower Manhattan, but I can cope.

Congrats! I hope this turns into something awesome for you.

Ugh on the 4 hour round trip. Your new Mac isn't a notebook by any chance, is it?

Thanks! Actually, it is a notebook. I went for the Macbook Pro, since it seemed like a decent computer that would be able to fit into an apartment without taking up much room. Maybe I can figure out how to get the wireless to work on the train or something.

Definitely. I love working with my laptop on long trips. I mean, what's more fun that turning the annoying guy three seats down into a horrific tentacle monster with self-esteem problems? *coughs* On your computer of course. *coughs more*

2007 taxes are done, and we don't have to pay in this year (wrar). Very cool.

Working for the company everyone pulls their W-2’s from has its speed benefits.

Classes start Monday! First week as a grad student, with my first TA position on Wednesday!

A warm mug of Earl Grey, sweetened with a touch of sugar and milk.

Looking forward to the $3000+ Tax return and the $1800 "tax relief" being mailed in May (supposedly).

Liberty's Edge

For the first time in almost a year, I have a girlfriend. It's kinda surreal, but good.

Heh. Saw you mention a girlfriend in the other thread, and thought I better check here. Good things man. I like to think that all our (bad) advice helped things work out for you in some strange way...

I'd like to think that, too. I wasn't really paying attention. Interestingly, the post in question was my first non-snarky post in the thread in almost six months.

Women have a way of unsnarkifying things.

Mildly Amusing

Downright odd (some offensive language, might want to watch listening at work, if you are disturbed enough to listen at all)

Dark Archive

Plenty of spare time (a rare commodity for me) to design and plan out the next plot arcs for a few campaigns while the players are on hiatus. Also, I can use the time to post on some of the nice threads instead of just lurking in them and watching.

Diet Dr. Pepper Cherry Chocolate.

It's like a liquid tootsie roll.

I wanted to try that but wasn't sure how good it would be. I am glad to hear it is good so that means I can buy some today!

Kisses on Fire, my word; I had forgotten what a good thing two bodies pressing together deeply kissing was like; definately a good thing. Its kinda like icey brainfreeze and the giggles and drinking raw lightening all at the same time. Sometimes you just wonder if your whole face is gonna just turn inside out or explode. To have completely forgotten what this is like and then wow; definately back on my list as a Good Thing.

Yahoo! My sis is having a baby and i am going to be Uncle of 2 nieces and a soon to be coming nephew w00t!

Unexpected showering of shiny new tech from a friend, to the tune of a new HDTV, a BluRay player, DVD recorder, digital camera and HD camcorder.

Ice cream!!!!!

Liberty's Edge

Getting one step closer to one's parents giving me a break and paying for part of my future education. Not quite there yet, but closer than before.

3 months until the government thinks I'm officially an adult.

4 months until I move out of my house into a rad old house with my best friend.

So so excited, I wish I could manipulate time.

At the end of the month, I may have a stable position with this publisher I'm working for tiling together calendars, making dummies of books and things like that. It may not happen and I won't have health insurance if it does, but if I can get it permanently, I may be able to get a place with my two D&D buddies in the city (assuming one of them gets into the police academy).

Otherwise, I'll have to keep looking and trying to get the freelance thing going.

70+ degree days & 2 hour naps on a big comfy couch with the house open & a breeze coming through.

Darn, I can't eat ice cream; must be an efreet thing; have some for me though.

If things go well (and I have not scared her off) I should be going on a date this Saturday (2-16-2008). Dinner and a movie. This should be interesting, especially since the last time I dated was when my ex- and I were going out. Luckly I have matured a bit. ~shakes my head~ Unfortunatly, I am a bit scared. What will she think when she sees the real me? Gaaaaaa!!! ~runs away and hides~

Dude, it's February for crying out loud! Where do you live? (Packing warm weather clothes into my suitcase, eagerly awaiting response.)

As part of my ongoing issue, I noticed last night I’ve gone silver (haired). I kind of like it. Very salt and pepper.

If there's a time to start hitting on women, it's now. Despite those just for men commercials, they go crazy for a little frost at the temples and the muzzle.

They do not, however, have the same reaction if you are really really prematurely balding. Unfortunately.

Or, if due to an immune disorder, your hair falls out in nickel-sized patches.

Damn, but that is unfortunate. I say embrace the baldness. Sad thing is, I'm not even going bald, I just like shaving my head. BBBBMFTW.

You know, I keep telling my wife, “So many women couldn’t possibly be wrong!,” and she just keeps laughing…

well, now I have lots of hair; thick blonde hair and believe me it is a good thing when a girls run their finger through it; maybe grab some locks on the top and pull you to them; run their fingers through your hair and nuzzle it saying the great smell of your hair drives them wild when they are kissing your ear and neck; I just dont see how not having hair could be a good thing; use what you have I suppose.

Women like rubbing bald heads. Don't know why, it's a compulsion effect.

Scarab Sages

Many women like getting rubbed by bald heads.

My one year old son growing up every day, bringing new words out of the blue and challenging my "adult" brain : Good times :)

Gilette Fusion Razor; that is a good thing; tried it; love it; see my other post on this for more details :)

I switched to ink and inkwash as my drawing medium after about two years of not using it and I feel more confident about my work than I have in a long time. I think the most recent things I've done are head and shoulders stronger than what I was doing in school and I'm excited to see where it takes me.

Got my first pay cheque roughly three weeks late yesterday. I'm ridiculously overpayed at my present place of freelance employment (for as long as it lasts; I find out tomorrow if I'm going to be full-time or not into the foreseeable future and either way they likely save a lot by not providing benefits).

Dude! With the transport hassles etc, I'm glad they at least (at last) paid you.
