Actually, if my math serves me well, it's your 1,807 mark. That doesn't make sense because Alexander Graham Bell wasn't to born for almost two more millenia when you started working for his namesake company.

just got my email confir for Pathfinder #1 WAHOOOO!!!
got a good size miniature order coming (sadly not from Paizo) in the mail should be here this week sometime
also have Dragon Compendium #1 coming in the mail (should be here this week also (again sadly not from Paizo, but couldn't pass up the price!!)
+ gonna slap together a order for Paizo tomorrow I think (gotta have last Dungeon!!! + some other things)
kids are healthy, wife is healthy & I'm healthy (fat but in good health), so can't complain to much

My 2-yr old son's heart biopsy results came back Monday, showing no rejection! WHOO-HOO!
(He had a ABO-mismatch heart transplant at 12 days old, so 2-yrs and going strong!)
Yay! That is something to cheer about.
How exactly do they do a biopsy on a heart though?
They snake a catheter up through his femoral artery and vein into his heart, take a few little pieces of heart muscle, and take pictures of the various arteries and veins leading into the heart (to check for narrowing...luckily no narrowing either!).
He's had 3 of them now...tough as nails, that little guy is.
A good thing that has happened to me: I got a new job and moved to Austin! I'm pretty happy about that!
Ahh, I so do love this thread, thank you Shamgar. Great things! It's been a very busy week. My kidlings are home again and they've all grown. We've harvested and canned alot out of the garden, and still more growing. My hubby built me a picnic table today, my first one and it's beautiful, aaand, I'm all set for college, right down to the books and paper.(sorry guys, my English course isn't until next trimester) ;)

After a couple of weeks not being able to think of a single thing to write on this thread, I return to make the attempt:
1. Lena's post above appreciating this thread reminding me why I put it here in the first place. Thank you Lena.
2. Being back on the boards (at least more than I have been)
3. Had a job interview that was easily the best I have ever had in 17 years of employement on Friday--and they bought me a nice lunch. I have a follow up uber-critical meeting with them Monday morning that will, literally, determine my family's future. After being crushed so many times in the past few years it is very scary, but also nice to have some level of hope. Monday looks like it will either be fantastic or crushing. Here's hoping for door #1!
4. After a horribly emotional morning, deciding to do something positive and spending the afternoon at Binder Park Zoo with my wife and boy. Watching him feed the Giraffe's, laugh at the monkey's, and play with the pygmy goats was good for all of us.
5. The fact that I do have a few people around me who sincerely care what happens with us.
6. That there are those who feel comfortable enough with us to loan us substantial sums of money when we need it and that those people turn up at just that final moment when all other hope seems lost.
7. I am married to one of the most amazing people I have ever met and am daily reminded how blessed I am. (Maybe that should be #!, eh? ;)
8. Though there are moments of frustration, the joy of having our amazing 4 year old boy Bryce is more than I can put into words.
9. 2 very cool gaming groups who are great players and friends.
10. Starting to feel the need to be healthy again.
Well, now that I've matched (and therefore countered, right?) the bad thing list I made, I suppose I can stop here as well.
First of all things this board is wonderfull.
You need to read this once in a while just to remind yourself of the good things in Life. Also to read the good things in the life of others
(at least that makes me happy too)
Now enjoy what makes me happy.
My lovely girlfriend who I allready know almost seven years now.
Even though she sometimes deserves some more attention and the occasionally small quarrel.
She IS THE BEST thing in my life and i love to make/see her smile.
Our lovely little 2 year old daughter.
Also such a wonderfull girl.
It's great to see her running at you and hugging you, or even hear a loud 'PAPA' after a long day at work.
My girlfriend being pregnant again.
Having a great life with friends and family who care for you.
(even tough they won't say it loud. I need to say the same to them either.)
Cycling to your work each day for 3 miles through the country.
waking up and enjoy the beautifull nature of the island I live on.
Yesterday i even saw a buzzard sitting on a fencepole.
Venting your emotions like this and refleccting back on your life.
(makes me almost cry in joy)
All priceless.

My son came home from visiting relatives today. He's almost 4 months old now, and when he smiles, for a few seconds everything in the entire world is just...perfect. Just perfect.
r/evolution: The Art of Jon Foster came in the mail yesterday, after being delayed by Amazon for weeks because I ordered it with the new Paul Pope book, which was on back order and they failed to inform me. Anyways, the title of the book sucks but the book itself is awesome. Great reproductions, they discuss his background and technique and (unlike the Paul Pope book) all of the ego stroking toward the artist is done by people that aren't the artist himself, through several small paragraphs written by fellow illustrators. It's also reassuring for someone doing it themselves (read: me) to read about a great artist that had to struggle to get to where he is.
Here I go with Facebook again... It's just that in the past week, I've finally found folks I've went to kindergarden with! Folks that I havent seen or heard from in over 25 years!!! Folks that still have contacts with other folks I've been trying to get in contact with since I've moved from my hometown. Incredible!

I really do love this thread, I love hearing happy stories. Whenever my day seems to be going off kilter, I read this thread, thank you everyone, for sharing so much of yourselves with me, and for always giving me a reason to smile.

I've got an old G&S, 9 and half footer that has been wasting it's time in Texas of all places. The only decent surf was during hurricanes and then it was tough to paddle out on that heavy board being so damned skinny. You take what the water gives you though.
Wife is baking double chocolate chip cookies as we speak. Mmmmmmm.... chocolate.... *drool*

My friend's got a job interview that he's pretty confident about. Armored car company; if he gets in he can carry a piece (which he's excited about, I guess) and gets a $1000 signing bonus. I hope he gets it, even if only because things have been pretty rough for him lately.

My brother has been trying to crack into a neighbors wi-fi, but no luck yet.
I got the coolest birthday present from my wife--an elevated custom built gaming surface! Two plexiglass covered flipmats mounted on sturdy wood that sit on removable legs with felt bottoms that we put on our dining room table when we game, giving us an elevated battlemat and allowing everyone to store their books and dice and notes underneath--effectively almost doubling the size of our available gaming space. It's awesome!
When we're done gaming I just take the legs off and the whole set up stores easily.
