Pathfinder / GameMastery Submissions

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Any word on the submission guidelines or email address for the above products?

Given the massive volume of posts with this same question, I expect that when they are ready to release submissions guidelines, they won't sneak them in quietly. ;)

So, to save the Paizo staff from having to spend time giving the same answer - "Be patient. We're working on it." :)

Sorry, I'm really excited about these product lines and would love to submit ideas, too, but like they said, please be patient.

Right now I can't imagine the hecticness of trying to wrap up the last issues of Dragon and Dungeon while simultaneously working on the launch of the Gamemastery Modules, Pathfinder, and Planet Stories (not to mention continuing work on item cards, and other Gamemastery products, and however much they are involved in the work on Titanic Games and the comic compilation books, etc. etc.).

Plus, once they open up submissions, their servers will probably swell and burst with the amount of submissions they will be buried with. So, give them some time to get things under control before opening the floodgates. :) Although I think they've alluded to it being a matter of "weeks" rather than months before submission guidelines are up, I seriously doubt they would want to open that up before they are done with editorial work on Dragon and Dungeon. I forget how far ahead that is, but I imagine they are still neck deep in those two magazines for a while longer.

I'd rather they focus on making the end of Dragon & Dungeon, and the launch of Pathfinder and the Gamemastery Modules as high quality as possible even if we have to wait a little longer to send in our submissions. Besides, if you have ideas, write them down and save them.

*Fidgets*

I've been offline a few days, so I was a little anxious that they'd gone the whole nine yards and released everything already.

Thanks for at least soothing the pain :P

We are working on it guys. Really! :) We spent a couple of hours the other day tossing around ideas. But my staff is basically working two jobs right now: running the magazines and also their replacement products, Pathfinder and the GameMastery modules. This doesn't leave them too much time to do things like submission guidelines. But they will get to it because we know how important it is to you guys.

You make it sound like you're still taking time to eat or sleep or frivelous things like that...

So with the release of the Alpha, any update on the submission's guidelines or anything? Are you even wanting/accepting such things at the moment?

Beyond the play-testing how can I leave my mark on the Pathfinder/GameMastery imprints.

They appear to mostly use inhouse writers or select freelancers they know very well. Frankly, I wonder if they Paizians miss the giant slush pile that Dungeon and Dragon generated.

No. We do not miss the slush pile. At all.

What we love is RPG Superstar and the "Write a module" contests, because those expose us to talented new writers. :)

Oh, Mike. Such a reserved and candid individual. Tell us how you really feel.

I suspect that the pathfinder society will be open to submissions. Or they will have Logue write everything.

(Sigh)

Logue will write everything, won't he?

That's me, a closed door. A drawn curtain. An iron wall. A dark and mysterious stranger who stops by your diner late at night and orders the special but only eats the fries before leaving behind a $50 bill and billowing out into the night with his black trench coat and floppy-rimmed hat.

...

Wait, what?

Only if he hates himself. ;) I don't know if the PFS will be open to submissions. All I know about the society is what I read in the press release. Which I skimmed. Glanced at, really. ;D

Spoiler:

I actually know a little more than that, although I really did only skim through the press release. I hope it didn't announce me being demoted or something. Cuz... awkward... ;D
