M Half-Elf Cleric 1/ Necromancer 1/ Druid 1

Initiative roll: 16

Lucien is unimpressed by the conduct of the halfling and the Akkadian in the face of danger. However, with a sigh, he begins to plan his attack on the creature.

All of them deity outsider 50/god 50/raving psycho player-killer 10 (PrC)

The creature lumbers closer. All of you can see it now, and those of you with ranged attacks can attack in the first round (Dantis, you will have to wait until the second round for your ranged sneak attack, but it will hit).

I would like to keep this in initiative order as much as possable, so here it is so you know when to post: Arik, Dantis, Lucien, Davos, Wulf, then the creature.

Those of you who cannot attack until the second round can post your action now, while the ranged attacks are being fired (if any).

Male Human Bard 3

Arik get his crossbow out, puting his horn and rapier away 18+5= 23 to hit. Damage- 8 WOOT! if Arik is not near the monster within 80ft then for the first round Arik moves toward him.

All of them deity outsider 50/god 50/raving psycho player-killer 10 (PrC)

Your bolt imbeds itself into the creature's hide. It speeds up its attemp to reach you, ferocity and vengeance in its eyes.

OK, Lucien has out his melee weapon, and Dantis is readying a sneak attack, so if Davos has any ranged spells he'd like to use, he's next. If not, It's Wulf's turn.

Davos raises his wand and shouts a strange word. A bolt of sizzeling energy streaks from the tip, lancing toward the creature and striking it in the chest.

SA: Activate Wand of Magic Missle (1) - 5 damage; 49 charges left.
MA: Pulls Acid Flask from belt pouch

Don't forget about Bless; +1 to attack rolls and saves vs. fear for 2 min.

Male Barbarian/3

Wulf steps forward, placing himself squarely between the charging beast and the "weaker" memebers of the party. Calmly, almost casually, he walks towards the creature. holding his shortspear at the ready until he is within striking distance, before he begins to suddenly stab wildly, all the while shouting at the top of his lungs.

It is his hope that his reckless, inaccurate strikes will be enough to throw the creature on the defensive, and keep its attention on him.

Attack Roll total after modifiers: 18
Damage if hit: 7

M Half-Elf Cleric 1/ Necromancer 1/ Druid 1

Lucien is about ten feet away from Wulf, and the same distance from the creature. The elven-blooded wanderer braces himself against the charging beast, whirling his flail and shouting a savage battle cry.

Attack roll: 14 + 3 = 17. Does it hit? By the way, this resolves after Dantis' attack and before Davos' attack.

The creature gets to go first, as Wulf ran up to it.

The bizzare freak of nature slashes at you with its talon-like claws, and thrashes about, trying and succeeding to bite you with its hooked beak. Both hits w/ claw, hit with bite, total damage 27, sorry Wulf, but you're the only one in range for this round.

Arik goes first in the second round, then Danits' and Lucien's actions resolve. However, as I know that he will not be posting until tomorrow, I will allow Davos to break the initiative order if he is here just for speed.

So, um, does it hit?

Male Barbarian/3

Okay, wait.. was that an attack of opportunity? If so, how did it use a full attack? If not, how did its action supercede mine? I thought I was higher in the pecking order (if not just barely).

Either way, I hope we manage to kill this thing, otherwise I'm going to be very well-equipped monster poop. And if I die, I'm totally gonna haunt you guys.

Davos chants a mantra, twirls his fingers, and focuses the power of his faith into Wulf.

Burns Sheild of Faith to cast Cure Light Wounds; heals Wulf for 8 hp (Cleric, caster lvl 2).

I'm trying. Please don't haunt me! I'm afraid of ghosts.

I assumed you ran up to it, so you both attacked in the first round. (I figured it was close enough for that if both one of you and it moved towards each other.) It is the second round now, so your new attack still comes before its action.

Oh, and to Lucien: yes.

Oh, and to Lucien: yes.

Okay, I'm good with that. I had assumed I was close enough to make an attack, so obviously it would be able to reprise. I just wasn't sure in this case if my own attack had hit, or had even been carried out, and suddenly I'm being gnawed on like a Scooby Snack. Kinda left me with a 'wait, what about meeeeee' kind of feeling. After all, if my mighty barbarian went down in two swings without even getting an attack in, I'd never live it down! =p

Lucien's flail smites the beast, its stone head burying itself in the creature's feathery hide.

I hope this isn't out of turn.
I take a step backwards and then kneel down, steadying my bow. When I feel that I have a clear shot I fire but a gust of wind knocks my aim off and my arrow goes flying into the grass, several feet from its mark.
Attack roll: 6 (3+7-4).

You were readying a ranged sneak attack for this round, and that one hit. Your bolt buries itself in a vulnerable spot in the creature's flesh due to its attention being turned to Lucien and Wulf.

Arik has informed me that he will not be able to post tonight, so I will be momentarily taking over his character:

Arik raises a horn made of bone to his lips, and a haunting tune wafts over the area. The creature looks up, and pauses, apparently listening to the music.

Now it is Wulf's initiative again.

Well alright then! Let's go for broke!

Wulf stumbles back slightly, feeling intense pain where the creature's claws and beak tore through his armor and into flesh. He bites back a tinge of fear, and lets the pain soak into his mind, as the world starts to go red. He utters a strange, gutteral word in his native language, causing his spear to burst forth with arcing electricity.

Slamming one fist into his chest, he lets out a primal roar before lunging forward with the spear, thrusting furiously with both hands.

Wulfdayn activates his hunting spear's special properties, enabling shock.
Wulfdayn Rages. Modified stats are now: Strength: 22, Constitution: 19, AC: 12. HP is now 27 (+8 for previous cure light wounds, +6 for Rage.
Attack roll total 28. Damage total: 14.

That was exactly how much HP this thing had left.

Your spear flares to life, plunging deep into the creature's hide. Your rage drives it even deeper into its heart. It collapses, nearly crushing you but you push it away. Your heart races in your fury, revelling in the blood and ferocity you are now seeped with and covered in.

oh and i just come back then the monster dies hahahaha

Male Barbarian/3

BAHAHAHAHAHAAH! I'm alive! ALIIIIIIVE!!

Wulf unable to control his fury, he produces his axe and proceeds to hack the head from the unfortunate beast, until his anger fades and he's left with the stunning realization that he has just vented his fury in a most unsettling way. Dazed, he steps back, leaning on his spear and breathing heavily, looking thoroughly worn. Finally, regaining most of his composure, he cuts one of the beast's large, sharp talons free, and stows it carefully into his pack as a trophy.

He utters another strange command word, and the electricity surrounding his spear vanishes as instantly as it came.

Lucien stands off to the side, smiling and shaking his head.

After a moment, he walks toward the owlbear corpse. Kneeling, he produces a long steel dagger from the folds of his cloak. Lucien proceeds to cut out the creature's eyes and tongue, placing them in a small bag around his waist. Next, he plucks a feather from the beast and fastens it in his long, braided hair.

"Spell components," replies Lucien.

Also, if anyone is watching closely,

Spoiler:
one may see that the dagger bears a series of effaced runes, that, if anyone can read Abyssal, read 'blessed is the dark lord.'

Wulf offers a half-bow of respect and thanks, and takes the potion. He gulps it down almost recklessly, and lets out a small sigh as he feels the Great Spirits ease his wounds.

HP Gain: 5 points. Now that Rage has worn off, HP total is now 26.

Feeling somewhat better, Wulf looks down at himself and growls in annoyance. His treasured family armor has been hopelessly marred by large claw tears and is stained beyond relief by the blood and gore of the strange beast.
Angrily, he hurls the empty potion flask, finding only minor pleasure in hearing it shatter, and gives the beast's carcass one last angry kick for good measure.

Lucien chuckles once more as he ambles over towards Thorn. After securing himself on the elk's back, he looks pointedly at Wulf.

"Not to worry, Wulfdayn. After the next sunrise, the Ghost Woman may see fit to grant me the power to repair such light damage."

In other words: tomorrow, Lucien will prepare Repair Light Damage as a cleric spell and cast it if needed.

Wulf scowls at the halfing, and mutters something unintelligible under his breath.

He turns to Lucien, suddenly overcome by an unfamiliar feeling of paranoia.
He finds himself fidgeting slightly as he speaks, glancing about him as if trying to find hidden eyes watching him.

"...Ghost Woman? Do you find such things in these lands?"

You are free to continue your extended RP scene, I'm just here to inform you that night is falling, and you will all need rest to recover from your ordeal (not just the owlbear: I'm including the escape too.)

As night begins to fall, Davos looks around at the darkening landscape nervously. "Doesn't anyone think we should find a place for a camp and a fire? It's getting pretty dark."

How much XP do we get?

A faraway look enters Lucien's eyes as his face hardens momentarily.
