I realize Pathfinder is more of a "product" versus a replacement magazine. However, I would be willing to see a few more ads (and perhaps pay a little less for the subscription).
I also hope you intend to still include a list of other companies new releases. Through First Watch (in Dragon) and various ads from both magazines, I've been turned on to such companies and products as Dwarven Fordge's 3D terrain, Steal Squire's Area of effect templates, and Geek Label T-shirts just to name a few.
I relize it may not be called "First Watch" anymore, but I think it would be a good idea to have a review and or a new releases section.
(For what my opinion is worth)

There is no need for First Watch, as you have seem to find the forum, all the new products are freatured on the frontpage of this website adn updated on a weekly (if not more) bases.

Unfortunately, we're committed to the idea of having Pathfinder be completely ad-free except for a few house ads in the back. As a book instead of a magazine, it's important that Pathfinder remain 100% focused on the subject material. That said, Paizo's daily store blog is a great place to discover new products as they come out.
Thanks!

Yes, but as has been mentioned again and again, a website is not a thing that comes in your mail periodically.
That said, maybe a smallish Paizo catalog or a "mailer-only" catalog.
Actually, we're looking into doing just that, including ads/catalogues in each package that gets shipped from our warehouse. Presumably, that would include Pathfinder as well. So one way or another, news will still reach your doorstep. :)

I found the forum because I have it bookmarked. I have it bookmarked so I don't have to go through the front page to get here.
Ads in a magazine that I read over and over have far greater impact than ads on a web page I never see, and won't be going outta my way to find. Also, I know from experiance browsing the store, there are companies that ran ads in the magazines that don't sell their products through the store here. Geek Label is one that comes to mind.
The catalog idea is a good one and I hope you follow through with it.

Actually, I really enjoy the product news from Dragon magazine. I've certainly found and purchased some things there that I never would have come across otherwise, and often found new website to explore. The store blog here is one thing, but yeah, I have to say those product spotlight pages were extremely nice. Dang, I'm suddenly remembering all the ads that led me to new and exciting things, now that I'm thinking about it. Never thought I'd miss ads, of all things. Hm. Guess I'm going to have to get more active here.

I just recieved some Ptolus minis i ordered just last week and they came with a "Paizo Spring Catalog 2007". Its pretty cool. I would've expected it to be a little... more, I guess. But there's definately some items in it that will be part of my next purchase.

I find it strange that I would be pleased by this too, but I am. I actually like to look at the ads in Dragon and Dungeon. That's the only medium where we can see ads specifically targeted at us, and it's kind of cool to have that way to feel like we are "desired" as customers. :)

That sounds good. :) Maybe a "Paizo Newsletter" kind of thing, blurbs or mini-reviews could be worth a look.

I just received an order from Paizo that had a 30 page catalog ("Spring Catalog 2007") thrown in with my order. I liked the catalog. Someone had also dropped an item card booster in the order as well, but I ain't sending it back! :)

I too find it odd that I will miss the ads. I have found some great stuff to order from sites I would never have heard about if it weren't for my trusty magazines, oh, that's right, they're not going to be there any more, I have to keep reminding myself of that. Excuse me while I go sniffle and rock back and forth in a corner again.

A agree, I kind of LIKE the ads. In fact that always seems to be one of the nice things about Dragon and Dungeon. It was good to see bright color ads for products that I usually wouldn't see at a game store, or on a company's website.

Yup. I got a free item card booster too. Those things are cool.

Paizo? Are you catching this? People want their gamer ads. Those ads are about to be a bygone cultural routine. Continue to charge for ad space and print ads in a thin cheap-paper pamphlet. Include one of these with every Pathfinder. You can also put a few of your own ads in there, above and beyond what'll be in the back pages of Pathfinder.

We did in fact recently produce our first comprehensive product catalog; you should get one in every order you get from now on. We'll be doing them three times a year, adding new fulfillment partners' products and new Paizo products as we get them.
See? We really DO listen :-)
By every product order, do you include the monthly Pathfinder subscription? I know it's not a magazine, so as a real book does it count within the "in every order you get from now on"?

We haven't really discussed it, but I'd suspect that we'll drop one in to the first Pathfinder to ship after we get a new quarterly catalog, and then skip it until the next quarterly catalog. 'Cause you don't need to get the same thing three times.

I have to admit this as well. Ads are a big part of my gaming nostalgia. Whenever I look through 25 year old issues of Dragon magazine, I look at the ads as well. Remember those whole back page ads for ICE's brand new Middle Earth supplements and for Rolemaster? They always had very cool artwork and were very attractive.
