I'd pay for an online Paizo-run magazine.

Dragon and Dungeon Transition Discussion

What I'm really going to miss are all the side-quests, mini adventures, "ecology of..."s, "100 rumors, meals, useless items, nightmares, etc." lists, and the AMAZING ART that made Piazo's magazines really shine for me.

Sure, WotC may be a collection of heartless dretches, but they have money to spend in market research. Perhaps online content is the way to go. Perpaps Paizo can help what goes around come around by producing an online magazine of their own. If you can provide the quality and content that you gave us in your Dungeon and Dragon magazines, I would HAPPILY pay money for an online zine, and encourage my firends to follow suit.

I would really like to support the great artists, writers and other Paizo staff that made me look forward to their products each month.

Is there a possibility of something like this becoming a reality?

While we're not planning an online magazine per se, we do plan to have plenty of additional web content available. It'll mostly be free, though.

As for the stuff you'll miss in Dungeon and Dragon, you may see some similar content in Pathfinder. It's not just an adventure, you know!

And you'll most certainly see the AMAZING ART in Pathfinder. We'll continue to use the same art directors and artists. And it'll be printed on better paper, so you might actually find it looks even better than it did on magazine stock!

I had a hard time finding a suitable forum for my next comment, as so many strong opinions about the changes are being posted. Anyway,

I would not pay for an online magazine. I'd rather have the printed material, even if it cost more. The magazines were professionally done and contained wonderful artwork, most that my home printer would choke over trying to replicate.

They say the trend is to move to online content and that the market there is growing. Well, I do buy many of my gaming supplies through Paizo online, but that is something else entirely. I'm buying a product, a physical object that comes into my ownership. I'm not in the habit of buying data, and I'm not likely to change that anytime soon. I don't have a laptop to bring to the table each week, I have a desktop computer and an overtaxed printer.

Dungeons and Dragons is a pen-and-paper game. Trying to go paperless to keep up with the times is not a wise choice, and although I love the content, I won't be buying files.
