Any suggestion on a good mini to use for Adimarchus?

The most recent set (Blood Wars) has a Solar Angel. That would be a good choice.

Agreed, that is a great mini. And if you had two, you could paint one to match Adimarchus' darker form.

I actually plan to use a Justicator from the Underdark expansion, since I don't have a solar. The next best thing would be... a Sword Archon, Djinn, or Ogre Mage from Angerlfire. Perhaps something from the Dark Heaven line by reaper, but I'd have to go looking... The worst part is that they probably have something that fits Addy well. Then again, you could always use the Aspect of Orcus (just to scare the bejeezus out of the PC's).

Thanks for the feedback guys. Hopefully, the PC's will face off vs the Big A sunday or tuesday evening.

I used the Javolith Darkspawn Captain Warlord mini. It worked very well for the Adimarchus' demonic aspect.
The image for that can be found here:

I used a angelic plastic D&D mini (the name escapes me at this point) for the angelic aspect.

I'll probably be seen as crazy for this, but I've given serious thought to having a custom Adimarchus mini professionally sculpted for my game. I've found a few sculptors that will do it, but the cost is somewhat prohibitive unless there's a market for a group buy (doubt it).

you can do that? could you give me some more info (or perhaps a site?)

I'll probably use a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup.

My recent half-orc army was ogre sized M&M's (thanks Shrek 3 promotion!).

Starbursts are also the perfect size to fit into a 5-foot square.

At my table, if you kill it, you get to eat it.

I was thinking this. Sure, he has a shield, but strapping on the displacer beast like tentacles or even wings should be easy enough. Shave off the sword in Angelic form and replace with a sculpted whip.

Is it just me, or did you expect Adamarcus to be at least Large size. I was shocked to see he was only Medium.

Exactly what I did. I used acrylic paints, too, so they washed off easily and I didn't permanently alter a rare mini. They turned out quite awesome and I'm sorry i don't have a pic to post.

I'd be interested in info on custom minis, too!

I used an Incubus from Reaper

Well two actually. One with the angelic wings that came with it and one with demonic wings. (I'm just going to say the tentacles spring out from beneath the black wings.) Plus he already has a guantlet on with talons which is pretty cool.

Adimarchus Celestial

Adimarchus Abyssal

and just for fun

Sure thing.

This place does "full service" mini design... they'll sculpt it, form mother molds, and do small (or probably even large) run castings. Kinda pricy, tho.

Here's another place that just focuses on the sculpting:

There are also a number of other talented folks on the net that could probably be persuaded to do custom sculpting... it's not as popular a hobby as painting minis is, but there are a few forums and tutorials out there.

There's also this place... they sell casting and mold-making supplies, which could allow you to duplicate a mini you already had (or had made for you). I actually bought a bunch of their stuff and cast my own chess sets a number of years ago.

Any suggestions on an equivalent evil version of the justicar using the prepainted minis?
