Most of my RPG stuff is back home in Norway while I languish in the US of A - it is too heavy to bring over, and I don't have anyone to play with. However, my sister apparently tried to "houseclean" all (yes, ALL!!) my D&D stuff into the big ole recyclotron last year; luckily, my brother told her that that was a big no-no. She just didn't get that books are not disposable - the brother had to use the "but he's a collector" (not strictly true, but hey...) line before she gave up. Phew... close one!

Lawful Neutral.
Explain in detail to the thrower what your magazine collection means to you. Explain in detail that they are not to be thrown away. Obtain a verbal (or if possible written) contract from them that your magazines will not be thrown away. Outline an appropriate punishment to fit the crime.
Of course if the person who threw out your magazine is the person I suspect, might not be the best approach to go the "punishment" path, but the rest probably applies. Talk to her, let her know you'd really prefer she didnt throw out your stuff without oking it with you first. You gotta set rules man, don't get walked over.

Okay, first she makes fun of you and then she throws out your Dragon?
Time to get a new gf.....I'm sorry, but she's trying to control your life and assimilate you. Trust me, I'm German, I skill focus (knowledge-psychotherapy) as a cultural bonus feat.
LOL. That is some funny ish. I can't dump her I love her.

Had to chime in with this related story:
I showed my girlfriend this thread and her response was "Dump the b&%#?!!! We then went into the bathroom for a smoke and I was showing her some of the classic adventures I got in the mail this morning from ebay and she promptly dropped one into the toilet.
What were you smoking?;p

So...that's when you dumped her. Right? Or at least made her pay for it?

#344 to be exact, It irks me that I spend good money on these magazines and somebody carelessly tosses it in the trash. I am trying to be the bigger person here but part of me wants to seek vengance. What is a Chaotic Good person to do?
If I were you I would convert to Lawful Evil and promptly sacrifice the offenders soul to the lords of the nine pits, for a bonus to your attack bonus or something like that. No ask for spell resisitance, that would be cool.

Can't or won't..? Freewill or "love?" Is it really love if she makes fun of you AND throws away your favorite magazine without asking you?
If there's no malice involved and you really think that she did it without forethought or spite (look deep, my friend, look very deep, okay?)then okay....otherwise, you're in for a rough ride, the odds and my many rough rides in the past tell me.

I'm going to put my 2cp in here. Talk to your friends and ask them for their honest opinions of her. (be prepared to want to know the answer before asking though) And by friends, I mean a random sampling of gaming & non-gaming alike. Since they're looking at it from the outside and how it's all effecting you, they may have opinions but won't tell you until you ask or they voice them after you break up.

It happened again today, the insults and the throwing out of my stuff(a couple of mini's this time) I threw her out. Not physically but I just finished packing up her crap.

Sorry man, didn't think it was really a serious problem, just thought it was a fluke. Oh well. My suggestion....Find a gamer girl! That is the only thing I would change about my wife. You will increase the amount of time you can spend gaming exponentially.

Good luck with your quest, secretturchinman. I am also about to start the same quest myself. I think 3 years of being by myself after the divorce is more than enough, thank you. Just remember that there is someone out there for you.
Good luck to you. But if we find the same woman , we fight to the death LOL ;)

Now on to the epic quest of finding a Gamer Girl....
Ah, see, thats the challenge.
I never found a Gamer Grrl I was attracted to (at least not one who wasn't a girlfriend of a friend or brother, and thats a DEFINATE no-go zone even for me). Not to say she's not out there, I just never had the pleasure of meeting her.
Say hi for me when you find her.

I'm very sorry, my friend, but you are SO much better off. A friend of mine had his D&D books slashed, his miniatures melted, his life tossed into a trash heap before he finally divorced his first wife (who gave him two kids). The clues were there early on, but he ignored them and married her anyway.
He emerged seven years later, shook himself off and moved on with life. Psycho-controlling-chicks are a dime a dozen. Gamer Girls are rare gems. I have five of them in my gaming group, LOL, but I think they're a bit too old for you (I think?)
