Savage Tide Movie?

Savage Tide Adventure Path

This Is just all In fun, I myself never want to see another D&D movie ever again! Cause Damnit If you're not going to do It right then don't freakin' do It at all!!! But I was wondering just for the heck of It, who do you guys/girls see as playing the villians and NPC's? I know I started this thread, but off hand no one comes to mind...yet. And I have to go to Hell I mean work...no HELL!!! I'll add more when I come home.

I think a solidly drawn animated movie would own any special effects that hollywood could come up with. Yeah, I know Lord of the Rings came out pretty good, but Middle Earth is pretty special-effects light, all things considered.

So my vote is for an animated movie with professional voice actors.

Lindsay Lohan as Lavinia?

That's funny I was thinking Ed Norton for Vanthus myself.

I had Matt McC for Avner too. The pic kinda looks like him in Dazed and Confused. I can see parallels in the character too.
I bet Avner stuffs his codpiece.

Howzabout John Malkovich as Graz'zt?

Graz'zt Is a Demon but he's very charismatic, all the succubi want him. John Malkovich ain't gonna cut It! I picture an actor with a sophisicated vocabulary and accent, commanding presence and a peircing stare my pic would be Jason isaacs. He might even be better cast as Asmodeus, If that were the case?

Liberty's Edge

Yeah, but John Malkovich in Dangerous Liaisons just oozed Graz'ztiness. And Ripley's Game (edit).

"I can't help it. It's beyond my control."

Yeah I suppose with the makeup Johnny Boy could get away with It?

Liberty's Edge

OK, so far is everyone is focused on the villians and the supporting cast, how about the heroes of the story? Yeah, I know, that's throwing it open a little bit, cos we all have different heroes in our stories, but you could concentrate on the Dungeon Iconics for ST - human m monk, dwarf m barbarian, human f wizard and elf m druid (??) IRC.

Or you could go with the old stables: Viggo Mortensen as a human ranger, Orlando Bloom as an elf ranger, Ian McKellan as a human wizard, Elijiah Wood as a halfling sook..... :-P

Liberty's Edge

Vin Diesel as a mul warblade.

Jessica Alba as a tiefling rogue.

David Bowie as a half elven wizard.

Christopher Walken as a human cleric of Wee Jas.

I like.

Especially Jessica Alba. mmmmmmm Jessica Alba...... What would her "tiefling features" be? (maybe an unusual predeliction for remaining scantily clad? .... and we'd definately need to feature a lot of diving off the side of the Sea Wyvern and sun bathing on the deck of the Sea Wyvern scenes....)

The Exchange

Kelsey Grammar as Grazz't
Jet Li as the Iconic human monk
Mark Wahlberg as the Iconic elf druid
Joe Pesci as the Iconic dwarf barbarian
Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls- the mom) as the Iconic human wizard, she can spout words faster and more accurately than anyone I have seen recently.

I am kinda wavering on Jet Li but really don't know any of the newer, awesome martial artists of late.

I sorta see the Iconic monk as being more of say a Capoeira practitioner (or perhaps Krav Maga) than an oriental style. So I was thinking maybe someone sort of south american looking.

I know he's neither a martial artist nor south american, but I also had the guy who plays Sahid from Lost in mind in this role.

"That's the thing about these island girls: I get older, they stay the same age."

I think John Malkovich would make a great Graz'zt, but I would rather see him as a hero or supporting character in the film version of the Savage Tide, just so that he could be a bit more prominent.

And honestly, look closer at your magazines: the iconic elf druid is a woman. Don't let the hippy dreads fool you.

Thanks James - Hence the double question mark in my original post on the subject. Dont have the magazines with me and couldn't quite remember....

Steve Buscemi as Demogorgon.

I understand Lauren Graham has a great affection for Santa Claus.

Perhaps a cameo from Johnny Depp as the zombie priest on Parrot Island.

Lauren Graham was in the movie "Bad Santa" with Billy Bob Thornton. Let's just say her character had a...how do I put this?...very secular appreciation for guys in Santa costumes. A twisted and funny movie, needless to say...

Go rent Bad Santa. Right now. Watch it now.

Funniest movie ever, too much cursing for kids.

Y'know, I'm thinking, a movie won't get it all.
I'm thinking....Sci fi channel miniseries!!!

Agreed. WotC will not allow it as it would overshadow thier lackluster lineup and may too much competition. Waa. We can't get an Age of Worms Hardcover because WotC doesn't want the competition, we would never get WotC to OK a Savage Tide series.

I wish WotC would start thinking of whats best for the game instead of whats best for themselves (just a bit, I respect that they need to make money to keep producing crappy sourcebooks on the spawning habits of Aberrations)

I'd buy that (lol)

I know what you're saying, though.

Scarab Sages

You need at least two people providing voices for Demogorgon - one for each personality.

I say Jack Nicholson and Anthony Hopkins.

The Hopkins Head: "I ate the Paladins liver with some fava beans."

The Nicholson Head: "You just pissed off the wrong Demon Prince!"

Or you could get Andy Serkis to do both. The gods know that dude is capable of at least two personalities.

Those are good choices for Grazz't, but you need a black man to play Grazz't. The guy that I have in mind is Idris Elba. He's not a big actor, but he is awesome. He's on HBO's "The Wire." He is imposing and charismatic.

Exactly what I was going to write...the two different actors for the two personalities of Demogorgon anyway. Those are good choices thou!

John Rhys-Davies as the dwarf...he was an awesome Gimli in LOTR.

Angelina Jolie for Rowyn, no doubt.

Vin Diesel for Vanthus. I usually like Vin as the hero, but he is such a bad a$$ he would be a perfect villain. He's also "one of ours."
