You may indeed ask! Warning: Minor spoilers to follow!
The Vanderborens are the most important noble house for the path.
After that, the Kellanis have important roles in the first few adventures, but beyond that they kind of drop out of the path as written (although its certainly possible that in some campaigns they'll stick with the adventure).
Once the PCs reach the Isle of Dread, the Vanderboren family is the most important, but they've liekly allied with another noble family from Sasserine who, as a supporter and investor for the cause, may have competing interestes and differences of opinion on how to run the colony. I'm not sure who this noble family is yet, unfortunately, since it's an element that's still kinda simmering in the back of my mind and I haven't chatted with the authors about it much yet.
Beyond this, once the campaign leaves Sasserine in Adventure 3, the noble families there fade into the background.

I was just asking because one of my players' pc is a noble. I suggested the Toregson (hope correctly spelled, don't have my lovely and more than handy Player's Guide with me) as the patriarch fits perfectly.
We developed a family with father, mother, uncle, three sons and one daughter (the pc). The marriage was arranged being more business than dream of a couple in true love. He brought in the money as former adventurer and she the name being of ancient Suel nobility from Gradsul.
As I see the STAP as a shared experience I just didn't wanted to tip-toe you or anybody else.
Thank you in any way. (Those answers are part of the mentioned shared experience! Great work guys!)

Concerning the nobility, when the treasure stolen from the Vanderborn vault is recovered the bags are noted as having the family crest on them. I looked through the adv but couldn't locate a any description of it. The vault door has the 8 pointed star, but since Lavinia doesn't recognize it that can't be it.

The eight pointed star is the symbol of the Seekers. I know in the Sasserine article, there were several family crests, but I haven't read it yet, and don't remember seeing the Vanderboren crest.

The Vanderboren crest is, alas, one of many victims of the remorseless magazine budget. We simply couldn't afford the space or the $$$ to do an illustration of it.
The eight pointed star is the symbol of the Seekers, the secret society Lavinia's parents belong to. It's not her family crest. And the illustrations in the Backdrop are for the seven major noble houses in Sasserine, of which the Vanderborens are not.
So: The Vanderboren crest can be anything you want it to be. In my Saturday home Savage Tide campaign, their crest is a stylized V that looks like two rapiers with a hippogriff crouched inside the V.

Thanks, I like that imagery of the crest you suggested. It was conspicious by its absence, Lavinia is the 'star' NPC of the AP.

Any thoughts on colors for the Vanderboren crest? I'd be happy to whip one up in Photoshop...
In case folks are worried I'll churn out something cheesy...here's a look at my latest work (for the World of Farland Wawmar update). Of course, this is a lot of Bryce work as well (guess I could make a 3D crest as well...), but the post-work was all Photoshop.

so is it official, now that all the issues are finished. Do we know if any other noble families pop up after chapter 3?
I think Mr. Jacobs covered that question above, thusly:
>Beyond this, once the campaign leaves Sasserine in Adventure 3, the noble families there fade into the background.<
Sounds like a "no" to me.
