I'm not an official spokesgod or anything, but it was scheduled for November 2006. I'm eagerly awaiting it myself as well.
Also if you like that sort of thing, you might keep your eyes open for another dose of something similar in Dungeon... probably (and I'm just guessing here) after the Savage Tide wraps up, because the manuscript was really, really, really freaking huge, I'm sorry to say.

Goodman Games seems to be having a lot of delays with the printers lately. Probably end of year stuff... Anyway, the last I checked Escape From the Forest of Lanterns is due out in January :(
That sounds like a really fun way to introduce this adventure, Allan. There will be a spin off from it called Heroes' End in the next Goodman Games DCC anthology, which should be coming out around the same time period as "Expedition..." ("The Adventure Begins" and "The Adventure Continues" were the first 2 anthologies).

There seems to be a lot of that going around with the "3rd Pressers" these days.
As an ironic side note the "Escape from..." bit from my titled piece was dropped. Go fig.
;)

Edit: My mistake. "The Adventure Begins", DCC #29 was the first one. The second one, which I believe is "The Adventure Continues", is due out around the above mentioned time period.
FYI, "...Goodman Games is putting together a second compendium of quick adventures that are perfect for a pickup gaming session, or an interlude in a regular campaign..." is how it was initially described to me. The adventures in this second compendium are for 4th-6th level play.

Yeah, I noticed. So the new title is Ironstorm Mountain published by Silven Games? (free plug for you)

I can't wait for all these pieces to finally see print (PDF?) so I can take my new debit card out for a walk, LOL....although I did pay for Ironstorm Mountain already (like six months ago).
As a courtesy to Paizo, though, shouldn't we mention that all these publishers sell their products at the Paizo store as well?

GGG - Magazine Contributer see it says so up top there
You realize that if you actually get lucky, we won't be able to say anything, right?
Besides.... for all we know all the {monster name withheld} were changed to fiendish halfdragon ogres for the final published version.
Not that I think that likely, mind you, but you never really know how much or how little will change between the final draft submitted and the end result in the magazine.

Edit - changed the square brackets to curly brackets, as the post made little sense if you couldn't see the contents of said brackets. FEH.

The last time I was this antsy was about a month before my son was born. Dungeon 145!!!
Kinda cool eh? This I think marks your first official feature-length piece (seeing as how you penned the great bulk of the backdrop). Congrats. Course you also got that solo horror piece in the Dungeon pipe too now.

I thought it was the collaborative work of several posters on these here boards...
Third post.... and you got it right. As I recall Shroomy you were one of the many folks who looked in on the initially public creation session. Well here's the nearly ripe pseudonatural-fruit of our labor as taken from Dungeon 144's preview section.
The Distraction, by Tim HitchcockA band of settlers awaits certain death upon the vicious blades of massing gnoll hordes. Can the PCs distract the ravenous army long enough for reinforcements to arrive? A D&D adventure for 3rd-level characters.
Vile Addiction, by Stefan Happ, Stephen S. Greer, B. Matthew Conklin III, Tom Ganz, and Ashavan Doyon
A horrific drug has seized the population of the strange city of Exag, yet confronting its source only reveals the true extent of a dire new threat. Part one of the three-part Seeds of Sehan Campaign Arc, this is a D&D adventure for 8th-level characters.
Backdrop: Exag, by Stefan Happ, Stephen S. Greer, B. Matthew Conklin III, Tom Ganz, and Ashavan Doyon
Explore the ancient streets of Exag, a secluded city whose secrets and mysteries are among the oldest in history.
City of Broken Idols, by Tito Leati
The central mesa of the Isle of Dread is taboo to the locals, a place shrouded in mystery and cloaked in rumor. The time has come to confront what dwells atop the island's savage crown. A Savage Tide Adventure Path scenario for 13th-level characters.
Fishing season is almost over and the sharks are here (dah-dum... dah-dum)

Wow! Cool, congrats to all involved! I always love Greyhawk material, and I'm very interested to see what that mysterious triangle on my Greyhawk maps indicating the free city of Exag actually contains--I think it must be the least documented such place in Greyhawk. And, F2K--may you receive the coveted (Contributor) next to your name!
(Oh, and G3 I was thinking of you in beautiful Grand Rapids as I was shoveling my way back across my front lawn just now. The lake-effect snow isn't as bad here in Utica as in Syracuse (or Grand Rapids), but the drifts up on top of the hill I live on are nasty! Skis and a Subaru are a must!

I must say that Greyhawk is not a prefab setting I visit often. You know let's say ever. I'll steal stuff from prefab worlds and write for them but I rarely play in them. There's just too much backstory to keep straight. That said I did spend a lot of time in Known World/Mystara games. My first thought was to keep it setting neutral, but Tom (Designer of Chapter 1, and guy who got us together in the first place), Steve (Crafter of Chapter 2), and Stefan (Scribe of the Backdrop) wrangled me into it somehow. Well okay I jumped in head first. Did you know a Flan is not actually a magic-using jello monster from Final Fantasy X? Go figure. ;) By the way, Ashavan was point man in pulling all our threads into one sweater, as overall pre-submit editor.
As for snow well there ain't much to speak of down here near Detroit, but it's cold and very windy. I think tonight I might work on another Sandstorm/desert adventure. ;)
Stay warm,
GGG or BMC3
PS My next car's probably an Outback.

Whoops, I somehow had it stuck in my skull that you were located out in the snow belt. Detroit burbs are much better in that regard. My pals back in East Lansing have been whining about the weather, and every time I look at my yahoo weather report it says it's six below there, so I can't blame them.
Sandstorm--yeah, today I did a lecture on Spain, and I told my students they'd feel better if they just imagined themselves on the Costa del Sol as we watched the white stuff blow past the window. Sixteen inches today. On the other hand, it's great inspiration for a Frostburn adventure. You can just think how much more miserable winter would be if we had to deal with faerie frost, wendigos, and woolly mammoths at every turn.
Sorry for the threadjack!

Two weeks until I travel to the barren tundra of the Homeland (Michigan) again! I'm seriously looking forward to some single digit weather. The novelty will last approximately as long as the visit, which is about perfect.

I live in Ann Arbor, so am probably fortunate to be nearer GGG (though I have never talked to, much less met this one) than most. Happily snow mostly stays to the west. Cold seems to stay here though. Brrrr.
My apologies for the continued threadjacking.
