Let's think... I love dragons and immortality has always been one of my goals so probably a dragon of some sort, probably a brass dragon to match my personality and passion for all things burning. For class I'd like something that depends on my own inner nature, so Psionics or Incarnum, probably an ardent of life, freedom and energy (fire) with the incandescent soul prestige class. Probably have lots of ranks in autohypnosis and the knowledge skills.
If a dragon isn't a possibility then a Half Brass Dragon Thri-Kreen would be awesome to be, what with the jumping and extra arms. So a Half Brass Dragon Thri-Kreen with the Dragon Wings and Dragon Breath feats.
Sorry to all of the dragon haters out there but I like dragons too much to turn down the chance of being one if I ever got it. Hell, I'd settle for being a Half-Dragon Human Commoner 1 if I had to. Failing that a Thri-Kreen Brass Dragon Shaman is probably what I'd be if no form of dragon or half-dragon is available.
So in order of preference:
1.Young Adult Brass Dragon Ardent 2/Incandescent Soul 2
2.Half Brass Dragon Thri-Kreen Ardent 6/ Incandescent Soul 1
3.Thri-Kreen Brass Dragon Shaman 8/Incandescent Soul 1
Probably make my way by blasting things for fun and profit or teaching other people to blast things for fun and profit. Alchemist would be a nifty career as well, or maybe exploring/scouting as a thri-kreen.

Any Race/Class in any setting?
I'll take Elven Aristocrat. Not just a life in the lap of luxury, but a long life in the lap of luxury.
After all, adventurers have this nasty tendency to get themselves killed...
And yeah, I'll take just about any setting that allows Aristocrats.
Except Ravenloft.
If you were plunged into a D&D world permanently, which setting would you choose, and what race & class would you want be? Unless you're itching to play a human commoner, assume you could be polymorphed into whatever race you like and be trained in whatever skills you desire. Think about more than just being the biggest baddest mo-fo on the block. If you're stuck there and want to survive or even prosper, how would you do it?
To survive? Prosper? How would I do it? I'd become the biggest baddest mo-fo.

Spelljammer. I'd be a Klingon Fighter, ship's cook with a parrot, and I could finally get into outer space. I know Spelljammer doesn't have Klingons, but I would make a good one if I was just a tough guy. Being a 6th level geek in high school, I really learned an epic feat: take epic beating.
And a little whippet. That talks. And casts spells.
Elan Telepath/Telekinetic (Modified Gelestalt) Hp stay the same, but everything else is treated as if you were doing 2 separate classes. Double skill points and power points.

GREWHAWK! I'd be a Dragon (the most powerful color, of course) with shape change ability. I'd like to be able to take humanoid form at will. I'd double class with Psion and Sorcerer. My alignment would be somewhere in the chaotic neutral range.

While being an elven aristocrat certainly is a fine thing (even if I'm not that into elves), I think I would like to be a lich or yugoloth sage in Planescape. Preferably Outlands, close to a portal to Sigil. With my generic NG demeanor that would be a fun thing to be.

To survive...a Lich in Union or some other extra-planar town. I would sell arcane secrets grudgingly just to get back to my lair and delve into the secrets of the universe.

Elven master craftsman with some sorcerer levels. I would be the one people seek to make their masterwork equipment. They would come from miles to see me.
I could hear their stories, living life vicariously through them, while I do not put myself in any danger.
I would definitely be in Greyhawk as I like european flavor and there is so much undiscovered.
I would be a Lawful Good 1/2 orc barbarian, because I took a quiz and it said I should be a Lawful Good 1/2 orc barbarian. I mean it was on the internet, it could not be wrong. Like the TV it is always trustworthy.
Oh I would choose Planescape as my campaign setting. Yeah, lawful good 1/2 orc barbarian cruising the multi verse. Cool!!!
