Just wanted to say the City of Greyhawk has totally invigorated my players and our game! My players have said that they would totally be for even running a complete CoGH campaign. That said I think one of the strengths of AOW over SC was the setting/characters players can relate to. All of my players have read the Gord novels and meeting Tenser will just blow their minds! Short of doing a Forgotten Realms AP I think keeping with the bread and butter of Greyhawk (circle of eight, CoGH, Flan, Iuz, Grazz't ect) is a great way to hook players.
On a side note? Whats the deal with a lack of Adventure paths for sale? Is this that original of an idea? All I can find are campaign settings that detail the most inane things but give no clear path. I think a FR AP (not neccesarily by Dungeon) would blow the roof off in sales. Instead we get hundreds of books telling us every bartenders name and maps of towns we have no intention of going to... This does not make my job as a DM easier.
By The Way: GREAT JOB ON AOW! Looking forward to Savage Tide!

not being involved in the process of the AP's I can't say for sure, but Paizo IS publishing AP's. It takes a heck of a lot of development time to write an epic campaign path like this. I'm sure you will see more as they are already planning on AP4.
Personally, I'd like to see an Eberron AP. I don't think it is going to happen, so I have started working on one myself....

Hanexs,
I know that converting older adventures can be tideous but the City of Greyhawk Boxed Set from AD&D 2ed is chock full of CoGH adventures and info. This would definitely boost your game. I bought myself a copy about a year ago off Ebay and it helped me develop my CoGH for my players immensly.
Also, there have a been some city based adventures in Dungeon in past 3.0/3.5 issues that could easily be adapted for the CoGH.
I agree with you that Greyhawk just has something that I find lacking in other worlds and that the City of Greyhawk is indeed a fascinating place to DM and PC.

I don't know if I would agree that a campaign and an adventure path are equal... I have seen some campaigns that have complete details of the world, from gods to barmaids, talk about history, organizations, wars ect. But quite often these campaigns are light on actual adventures, or if they do include adventures (as the COGH Boxed set did) the adventures are not related.
Adventure paths are neat because they are linked, and they leave a lot of room for the DM to drop whatever he wants and change whatever he wants. Basically I see an AP as a story arc and a campaign as a world/city description.

I think you'll find that the upcoming WotC release "mysteries of the moonsea" will fit your needs quite nicely....
from the blurb in the latest preview on WotC's site:
http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/iw/20060406a&o=
The Mysteries of the Moonsea accessory contains 37 loosely connected adventures that can be run individually or linked to form the basis of an entire Forgotten Realms campaign. In addition to the adventures, this book presents maps and descriptions of the major Moonsea cities of Melvaunt, Hillsfar, Mulmaster, and Zhentil Keep, as well as statistics and descriptions for 15 important campaign villains.

Yeah that looks what I am talking about for FR. Of course I dont really like the "loosely linked" part too much... Just leaves more work for me to link the adventures.
I used to be an FR guy, but now I am midway through AOW and I must say they have sold me on Greyhawk. Thats why I am hopefull that the next AP has some room for the free city in it.

it seems like there may be a slight difference of understanding between 'campaign' and 'campaign setting'. Forgotten Realms is a campaign setting. Greyhawk is a campaign setting. The City of Greyhawk is a campaign setting inside a campaign setting. Age of Worms is an adventure path. Shackled city is an adventure path. Savage Tide will be an adventure path. The linked dungeon adventures a party plays taking them from the start to their retirement is a campaign. A series of adventures totally built by the DM taking the player characters from first level to twentieth is a campaign. An adventure path is a campaign, possibly with room for a few things to be stuck in if an extra adventure or two is needed for xp boosts or such. An adventure path is for all intents and purposes a campaign. But a setting is a setting. You can, with some tweaking, make either of the two published adventure paths (so far, two *s*) fit into pretty much any campaign setting.
Just my two copper's worth

And maybe a great big City of Greyhawk map insert....please? Santa?
Until Paizo gets permission from WotC to reprint my big poster map from Living Greyhawk Journal #2, you can get a low-res image of my map on my website at http://melkot.com/locations/cogh/cogh.html
