Lost Archives?

I was trying to find an old thread in the AoWAP forum and I think it's gone. I've noticed that nothing from 2005 is showing up at all. Are there archives of these forums somewhere?

You can search the archives by using the search box on the upper right-hand side of the forum page. If you respond to an archived thread it will get moved out of the archives and back on the front page.

The archives aren't browseable right now; that's on my ever-growing to do list.

thanks

Hey, GT, is the browsable archives still on the "to do" list or has it been scrapped altogether?

Also, the archive search turns up a bunch of product links...is it supposed to do that?

It's in place. When viewing a messageboard topic (not a thread... i.e. "Website Feedback," but not "Lost Archives?") you'll see a link to the archives for that board... but the rest of your post indicates you already found that. Were you expecting something different?

No... we'll fix that.

Hum...i was following the general "archive" heading link the pathway: Paizo/Messageboards/Archives

Another example I tried is: Paizo/Messabeboards/Dungeons&Dragons/Archives

I tried a couple of "key words" for the thread I was looking for and am not finding the thread that I'm looking for. Actually, i'm not seeing any threads...just products. I suppose that i thought there would be a repository of old threads in a database that would link to kewords in the search box...Is that the case?

Ah, now i've got it...there is a link to the browsable archives just above the topic. Ok, i'm good now, but it seems confusing with the "search" box being in a prominant location in several other areas of the website.

I'm a little confused about what you're talking about.... but the main search dialogue box will search the all messageboard posts—including the archive—and not return product listings if you set the pop-up below the search button to "Messageboards."

The archive search box on the upper right in the messageboard areas will allow you to search only the archives, and not return products (well, after we fix it, anyway...).

Does that help?

Well, I found what I was looking for...but the archives "search" box is still confusing for me. When i browse the first Paizo page, there is a list of topics to look under on the left side of the page. I typically go to "messageboards" which then drops down another list of topics to click on. One of those topics under that list is "archives" and if you click on that, you go to a "Messageboard Archives" page that is blank except an archive search box in the upper right corner. If you search for a topic there, you just get products...

Am I missing something there or is it supposed to link to an archives database?

Each individual forum has its own archives. The archives link on the main messageboards page shouldn't be there, and will be removed.
