Keith Parkinson

Dragon Magazine General Discussion

Some sad news that I have read on various websites ( http://www.darkswordminiatures.com/ ). Keith Parkinson succumbed to leukemia on the 26/10/05. There's not much I can say aside from I'm sure he will be greatly missed.

(Sorry if this post doesn't belong here but I couldn't think where else to put it)

Maybe we could have a Dragon dedicated to his work?

aw man...what a downer. he was always one of my favorites. i absolutly loved his pencil works. I hope they have art supplies up in heaven.

Scarab Sages

WotC has a nice little tribute to him on their DnD website. It shows a sampling of his art over the years. Some really great stuff.

*cries*

He's the guy that inspired me to play D&D (come on, the red books!!!) as well as a frequent inspiration for my own artwork.

Hey, Paizo, can we get a "retrospective" in Dragon on Keith's stuff?

That's a great idea.

:o( Keith was an inspiration to myself and I'm sure to thousands of fans of the fantasy genre across the globe. I am deeply saddened by his passing.

I think that a Keith Parkinson retrospective by Dragon is a fantastic idea and would be a great way to honour his life and his contribution to all of his fans.

Here's to the man who did the cover to Rifts: Atlantis, Keith Parkinson. I had the pleasure of meeting him at a GenCon once. It wasn't anything big, but I took an art book, a signature, and lot of inspiration away from it.

Cheers to Keith,
GGG

The Rifts Main book (Splugorth! Blind Warrior Women!), Death Gate Cycle (Weis & Hickman), Shannara (Terry Brooks), Elenium & Tamuli (David Eddings)...

So so many. I will miss this guy.
