Cult of the Green Lady...

What is the Cult of the Green Lady? (see Diamond Lake Boneyard)

I *think* the Green Lady was an outcast priestess of Wee Jas, from the Doomgrinder supplement; beyond that, I know nothing, though presumably the Cult are her followers.

Any information, official or otherwise?

Thanks :)

Jack

The following is from Erik's blog, Feb. 26, 2005 entry:

Tomb of the Green Lady: “An outcast priest of Wee Jas named Nohrtan brought followers here to protect a cairn he believes is the final resting place of a powerful priestess of Wee Jas.” (Doomgrinder, p. 19)

They sound like a splinter group that worship a long-dead, powerful priestess of Wee Jas instead of the goddess herself.

Exactly so.

The Cult of the Green Lady gets some coverage in a forthcoming web enhancement, but until that happens, you'll do fine with the information in Doomgrinder (which also features Diamond Lake, although it is by no means necessary to play the adventure).

Doomgrinder??? what is this?

Thanks, Eric :)

Our group is likely going to have a cleric of Wee Jas. I see the nearby temple will be described in 125 -- will the Cult of the Green Lady be detailed in the accompanying web enhancement?

That would work out well for us; because of player schedules we won't start until early August, after I've received and digested 125. In any event, will there be any big deviations from mainstream Wee Jas-worship?

Thanks (again),

Jack

PS this campaign is great so far! This represents Greyhawk products at their best -- taking a known but undeveloped region and building an interesting, original plot around it. I thought 'Return to the ToEE' left a lot to be desired -- and the "Return to" books were driving me batty. Kudos to the entire Age of Worms team! Go Wormies!

The doomgrinder is a huge magical war machine that forges a path of destruction across the plains of Greyhawk towards the City of Greyhawk. The PCs must stop it before it can reach the city, and meeting the Cult of the Green lady is one of the encounters that PCs can have as they try to stop the war machine and the huge tribe of derro that runs it from causing major heartache to the city.

I think the Cult is fairly obscure, and is one of the hundreds of minor cults in the world of Oerth. I don't have the module in front of me and dont want to say more in case the DUNGEON staff have some plans for the cult or the Doomgrinder in the future.

Now, if only they brought back Lyzandred the Mad. I loved that crazy undead wizard!
