I like my PDFs, but for an extra $7, I can also get the entire volume pre-made in Foundry? Which is where I planned to run it anyways?
This is a no-brainer purchase, best of both worlds. I've picked up Guns and Gears and Book of the Dead through Demiplane for similar reasons - if having the PDF copies as part of other platforms' purchases is the plan going forward, that makes me a happy consumer, and gets two very enthusiastic thumbs up from me.
Any Update on this before we begin the event this weekend?
My understanding is that it's in queue and the updated file just needs to be pushed to the website. The quick summary is that Zakzak has a spoon gun instead of a flingflenser and he has 3 more HP from taking Toughness instead of Incredible Initiative.
I'm sure it's too late for the file to he updated, but another point of note: I believe Booker's melee damage ought to use the increased d6 damage die due to the reinforced stock being on the two-handed dwarven scattergun, right?
My little shale spitter, he... got quite the glow-up!
Big thanks to Steven (stonesnake) for organizing RPGSuperstar this year, it's been a real surprise to be rewarded in such a way for what I thought was an unassuming-yet-solid (much like the rock-bug itself) design.
And working with Patrick Renie to design the bigger and beefier evolutionary cousins in the "lapisopod" genus was an absolute treat, bouncing ideas back and forth. I can't wait to see the final product and the coating of "Paizo gloss" they received from his experience as a developer.
Here's to the next RPGSuperstar!
(—and with it, hopefully eligibility to enter again? :D)
"No one remembers Watchmen was delayed a year. They only remember it was awesome." Don't know who originally said that, but it's fitting. Take the time you need to do it right, Paizo.
Similarly, the Shigeru Miyamoto quote:
"A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."
I'd love to play as a PC, I'm running it as a GM for the first part of Gameday because I didn't see any tables that were still open at the time. I've got a Fighter and a Bard rolled up so far.
As a newer PFS player, my highest PC is merely level 2, but I've no problems playing a pregen for higher level games (I'm assuming that'd be the only option I'd have).
As for GMing, I own only the entirety of Season 6, so I'm limited there in what I could prep. I'm a little green when it comes to Society play, so I've no problem being told what to do, haha.
Player Handle: zebeev
GM Handle, if applicable: GM zebeev
Character Class / Preferred race:
Bozril "Boz" Marbleheart (Dwarf Soldier) - or -
Bajus (Damaya-Lashunta Technomancer)
Have you played or GM'd this AP book before? Nope!
Have you played or GM'd book 2 or 3 of this AP before? Nope!
Have you played in a scenario featuring starships before? GM'd one, played as PC in two SFS scenarios, piloting the ship in both.
I'm terribly sorry, but I'd somehow signed up for another game running an instance of 1-05, and it's already started. I'll have to give up my seat at the table. :[
Checking in! My apologies, I swore I had dotted this thread. :/
I'm in the same boat as Buff-Bot; I've got some characters on paper, so I'll have to transfer one of them over. If we're looking to start earlier than previously thought, I can always play a pre-gen. :)
I believe I said I'd run a Brawler in the sign-up sheet, so that'll be my plan going forward. I've got some ideas circulating, so I'll start rolling the new character tomorrow (gives me something to do on break and during lunch).
Otherwise, I'm currently playing in a PbP (but non-PFS) game here on the Paizo boards, and I've been having a blast with it. It's my first time playing PbP, and I'm loving the change of pace. This module will be my first time playing in the PFS, so I might be asking a bunch of questions, and if I'm doing something wrong, it's certainly not out of maliciousness, it'll be coming from a place of cluelessness. :P
Appearance
Phedran is a slim middle-aged elf, gaunt of face with sharp features. The fact that he is slightly balding reveals his age, but he is still fit. He keeps a well groomed but bushy pair of sideburns to compensate for his retreating hairline. His narrow eyes and thin lips tend to give him a default expression of scorn or disapproval.
Character
He is intelligent above all; logic and reason dictate most of Phedran’s actions. This makes him cold, distant, obtuse to most others. He respects utility and duty, and has little regard for people in his way. He is a strong believer in there being a place for everything, with everything in it’s right place. Routine is his foundation. He is fascinated by cephalopods. He understands that he lives in a world with demonstrable divine intervention, however he believes the Gods to be fickle and tempestuous in their behaviour, and would prefer to be left out of their charades. He believes (and can likely prove statistically) that he is probably-definitely-and-very-likely the smartest person in the room.
Motivation
A physician by trade, Phedran was the personal doctor to a minor lord. His charge, the lord's young sickly son grew gravely ill, and died despite Phedran's attempts to stave off the illness. Scorned by his employer, the chirurgeon drove off on an expedition to work through the guilt and expand his knowledge of the field of healing salves and tinctures. A grand sabbatical in a distant land was to be had.
Phedran's recent travels have brought him to Sandpoint, where his modest sum of savings has dwindled away. Figuring he has enough coin for room and board for less than a week, he goes to the local Pathfinder lodge to seek employment - surely every adventuring party needs someone with medical experience?
I'm just on my lunch break at the moment, so I'll roll now, and edit in my character sheet if I can get it done within the hour.
2. Are you new to PBP, Organized Play, or both?
Both. I've only played homegames, and am very interested in the more narrative based, slower paced play that PbP provides.
3. What excites you most about playing in this game?
The synopsis makes this scenario seem like nothing I've experienced before. Ties to the occult classes also piqued my interest.
4. Tell me a little about yourself! What other games have you played? What are your hobbies?
30-something, married with a 1.5 year old son who is my entire world. In addition to being a husband and new-ish father, in my spare time, when not playing games, I'm training 14th century german longsword or 18th century British military sabre. I'm part of a historical fencing re-enactment company, and am training to compete in my first HEMA tournament this August. Fencing with real (albeit blunted) swords. Fun fun fun.
5. Are you able to post at least once a day?
Most definitely. Morning, lunchbreak, and late at night. I'm a night person, usually going to bed post-midnight.
6. In order to keep the game moving along, sometimes I will bot players if a certain amount of time has passed since their last post. Do you give permission for me or the party to 'bot' your character as needed in combat or another situation?
Absolutely. I'd give priority to the shared narrative.
7. Do you promise to tell me about upcoming vacations, busy times at work, conventions or other absences so we can bot you?
Absolutely. Emergencies aside, having a phone on my person at almost all hours ensures that I'll be a swipe away from being able to respond.

Phedran has sought passage on the Jenivere seeking a fresh start, hoping to rekindle his studies in faroff Sargava.
A decent array. I've got a Elf Alchemist that has a background that would fit into the campaign pretty well. It'd be my first time playing-by-post, but I've been a longtime lurker and very much interested in the more methodical roleplaying that the messageboard presents.
