I do not think this is correct. She did bury the pistol, but she used another card to perform the bury.
Gamma World + Expedition to the Barrier Peaks + Thundarr the Barbarian + Golarion = Super Happy Nostalgic Gamer! I have nothing but LOVE for this adventure path, and am surprised ... shocked even, that not everyone is as excited about this as I am! Relax and enjoy a little Sci-Fi in your Fantasy. They taste great together!

I just wanted to add that I was definitely sitting up in bed and telling my wife, "Oh Man! Vegepygmies! Color Coded Cards! This is awesome!" She never played Barrier Peaks, so she just said, "That's nice, Dear." then rolled over and went back to sleep! Basically, I am LOVING this Adventure Path! It does take me back, in the best possible way! Can't wait for the next five ... but I gotta! Thanks, James and Team!
I tried searching the Suggestion/House Rules/Homebrew section but did not find anything on this. If this has already been covered, just point me to that link. If this should just go under Advice, I can move it there. <end disclaimers> Are there rules for standing on, and attacking, a huge creature? Something like running up an elephant and attacking it while on its back. Why do I ask? We are at the end of Wake of the Watcher, and giant creature has just appeared in the Mi-Go underwater lab. It can apparently fly, so now we can't reach it (and suspect arrows will bounce off it). I'd like to spider climb up the walls/ceiling, then drop down on the beast and hack at the tentacles to try and free our cleric. Would this be a kind of grapple? A series of Acrobatics checks to maintain balance while attacking? A series of Strength checks to hold on while attacking? If this has come up before (pretty standard attack mode in fantasy battles against giant creatures), I am curious how others have handled this. I asked my GM, since we continue this battle on Thursday, and he said to check the Forums on Paizo to see if I could find anything. If not, he will just make something up, but wanted to see what others have to say. Thank you.

I had asked a similar question a while ago, but did not get any replies. Good luck! My main question is what while there are a number of different creatures in Pathfinder which do not need to:
I did not see point costs associated with this in the Advanced Race Guide. I will be interested to see your list this evening! Thank you for bringing this back up.
Actually, based on what I've read elsewhere, Enchantment Resistance is not quite as good as Elven Immunities, so I'd lower that point cost to 1, making the Gillmen cost only 1 RP?! Gillmen

Am I missing anything here?
I have seen a number of Type Qualities with "do not breathe, eat, or sleep" in the description. Is there an agreed upon RP point cost for this? Are they broken down individually? I notice, for example, that the Plant Type does not sleep, but does breathe and eat. Just curious if anyone has seen an RP point break down for these abilities. Thank you.
I have searched the Paizo boards for posts on Gillmen, and I cannot find any post which breaks down the point cost for the Gillmen race. Please forgive me if this is a repeat (and please point me to that discussion). Of particular interest to me are the "Enchantment Resistance" and "Water Dependent" point costs. The "Slimehunter" racial trait replaces enchantment resistance, and I can see no drawback to Slimehunter (unlike Enchantment Resistance), so I assume Enchantment Resistance has a net positive point cost. But what is it? It is similar to Elven Immunities? Water Dependent can be very deadly, so I would expect it to have a high negative cost. However, Throwback cancels it out be removing:
which, according to my math, would give "Water Dependent" a -4 RP cost. Is that correct? The Gillmen cost would be only 2 RP?! Gillmen

I am particularly interested in the immunities point costs. I get where the "+4 saves vs. foo" point cost comes into play, but when I search my PDF of the Advanced Race Guide, I do not find anything but race/elemental specific immunities. Is there a guideline for building new race immunities, or just use the existing race immunities as a guide? I am just curious if immune to fatigue or emotion would be considered worth more than immune to poison or disease. For example, Androids get immunity to "fatigue, exhaustion, disease, sleep, fear, emotion" for only 4 RP. How much more would immunity "poison, sleep, paralysis, disease, nausea, fatigue, exhaustion, effects that cause sickened and energy drain" cost? Also, a number of races have does not "breathe, eat, or sleep" in their traits. What is the point cost associated with this trait? I can't seem to find it in the Advanced Race Guide.
This is a very exciting project. Hope I am able to get into the playtest! I agree that this appears to be asking a lot from your playtesters but store credit and the chance to shape another paizo game is worth it to me. (of course, it helps to live in a major US city center with a ton of old school gamers!)

I have been wondering the same thing. It looks like Paizo forgot to include the stats for Man's Promise. I am just going to use the Sailing Ship stats from the Player's Guide, but it would be nice to get an "official" stat block.

Hi Vic Wertz, I do order the PDFs, so not sure how you count my vote. I would be interested in purchasing interactive PDFs of past adventure path, or updates to the current one. I believe someone mentioned adding a interactive map for Brinestump Marsh. However, as with all purchases, I would need to know the price point. Interactive maps for past adventures for $5 per adventure path collection? I'd buy it in a heartbeat for all past PFRPG adventure paths. $10 per adventure path collection? Yup, I'd buy that for paths I really liked! $15 per adventure path collection? Hmmm... I'd have to think about that. $20 per adventure path collection? Okay, I'd only buy it if I was running the adventure path for sure. There is my input, for what it is worth.
What I do not understand is if the natural armor bonus stacks with the natural armor bonus of the creature whose form you take. I am also not too clear on the whole "you keep your stats" aspect. It sounds like you keep most of your stats (as miniaturepeddler says), but you just gain the movement and attack of the animal. Your stats get slightly improved by Beast Shape, but you lose a lot of your armor bonus, and you may not get nearly as much of a Natural Armor bonus as the Animal whose form you've taken. For example, if a druid uses beast shape a become a Dire Bear, a Large Animal (Pathfinder Bestiary p.31), you end up with only a +4 to Natural Armor, not a +8, correct? Also, even with a +4 to your strength, you are not going to have anywhere near the strength of a Dire Bear, and you lose two points of Dex, so your AC goes down by at least one right there. It sounds like when you use Beast Shape, you may end up as a very weak form of the animal whose form you've taken? Is that correct?
On page 19 of Pathfinder 20 House of the Beast, there is a room called the Hall of the Mamluks (EL 8). But when I turn to page 20, the stats for room C6 Hatchery starts. Nothing is listed as being in room C5 which would give it an Encounter Level of 8, or any Encounter Level at all. Was this a misprint? Is this room empty, or was it meant to contain something? Thank you
I want to thank Paizo for doing a great job in giving us a place to have these discussions. I like the gap in the adventure path, but I am a GM who likes to tweak and customize adventures. The folks behind the Pathfinder adventure paths have given us a rich and detailed world in which to play. Yes, there is a sense of urgency after Children of the Void, but I imagine in our campaign it will take some time to report back to the elves, and get a response. After all, Eviana and Kaerishiel are going to have a long argument about bringing strangers into the Drow conflict. There is so much to do in and around Riddleport. The Golden Goblin is a great example, but also just how will the players deal with all the other Crimelords? There is so much extra material here, I will really enjoy having a chance to flesh out the city (and the world) a bit more before the players press on into the forest. So chalk me up as another YES vote for the occasional gap. Although, I can see why some people do not like this decision, it fits so well into my GM style, I have to support it. Sometimes it is nice to be able to take an Adventure Path off the rails for a while, and let the players explore on their own for a bit. Along the same lines, I am enjoying the set pieces VERY much. They not only allow us to have optional adventures components, but they can be dropped nicely into other campaigns. I cry heartily for more set pieces!

Thank you, yoda8myhead, it is making things difficult when I want to comment on Pathfinder RPG, because I can only comment by reading threads. I really want to search for things like grapple or skills, but there is not real way to search the forums. Oh well, I will do my best.
I would search the forum for the answer to this problem, but there seems to be an issue with the forum search. When I use the Forum Search function, it searches all of Paizo.com! I just want to search one section for grapple rules discussions, for example. I am using Firefox 2.0.0.13. Is that a problem? Just curious if anyone else if having this same problem. I am downloading Internet Exploder 7 right now, but I'd rather not use it. Thank you. Edit: Downloaded the Internet Exploder 7 .exe file and started the install. Of course, it crashed trying to install. This is why I am trying to avoid Microsoft products. |
