Hello, wonderful Paizo folks!
Although I do not wish to, due to financial reasons I need to cancel my two remaining subscriptions at this time. Hopefully I will find a way to reinstate them at a later date.
Thank you,
Jason
Please lift your glasses and your voices in congratulating Bill Loescher as the Venture-Lieutenant of Springfield, Missouri! Bill is an excellent addition to our long-standing tradition of leadership in the Pathfinder Society here in Missouri. Well earned, Bill!
Yep, I figured it out. Thanks! :)
Hi, Guys!
Just wanted to let you know that none of the many sessions that I have reported for Pathfinder Society event #1880 are showing up on my list of GM'd sessions. Am I missing something, or is this a computer glitch?
Thanks,
Jason
Hello, delightful Paizo people!
Sadly, my current financial situation demands that I make a cut to my subscriptions. Please cancel my Pathfinder Campaign Setting subscription. I would like to keep the others.
Thank you!
Jason Roeder
Congratulations and welcome to Sam Hutton, the newest Venture-Lieutenant of Missouri!
Sam is an avid Pathfinder, and has been instrumental in organizing the player base in Springfield, MO. He is a valuable and welcome addition to the Venture-Officer family.
Good job, Sam!

It's safe to say both that I am enthusiastically in favor of this, and that there are many forces at play that may make me wait a while before getting to do anything like this. Not the least of which is that Pathfinder Modules need to not try to become Campaign Setting sourcebooks. :)
But yeah, I am still excited by Absalom. What if you had a sourcebook on Absalom that just included some updated adventures, like Black Waters and Hangman's Noose? Both of those were written for 3.5, and could benefit with an update...

If you really want your party to love you, go with a buffing, healing bard. Split levels between Songhealer and a Cleric with the Luck domain. You'll have nice buffs, channels to heal the party with, and you'll be able to harm undead too. Make Str your lowest stat and stay out of the fights. Stand behind the main melee damage dealer and hit him with "Bit of Luck" from time to time. Then keep a CLW wand in hand and keep him in the fight.
Thanks, Sharaya! Tell Dallas I said hi!
Hi, guys!
I attempted today to pay for my subscription, but every time I attempted it, I was told that the payment failed. I just checked my bank, and they show that I have 3 pending charges to Paizo, each for the amount that my subscription payment should have been. Please don't charge me 3 times! Also, I only want one of each of these books, not 3. I don't absorb the material as well if I attempt to read 3 copies of the same book at once.
Thanks, and y'all are awesome! Take good care of our girl 'Raya up there!

I don't know if there will be anyplace to send condolences at this time, but I will post as soon as I find out.
In the meantime, I would like to throw out a quick memory of Jon.
This came at the climax of Krome's Carrion Crown campaign, and we were fighting the main villain.
He saved the day, and survived the encounter.
Good times.
A brother has fallen.
RIP Jon Gregory, PFS #1390. You will be missed.
This post is directed at you, John Compton!
Since Samivashti has so many opportunities for escape, I would like to see her again in a future scenario. I think she would make for a great recurring villain. In the number of times that I have run this scenario and seen it run, she has escaped a majority of the time. This may not be so overall, but if she does typically escape, could we see her again?

I understand that you are upset with this person, but from the stance of the Pathfinder Society, wherein the goal is to grow the society at any reasonable opportunity, it would be outside of the spirit of Pathfinder Society to prevent a player from playing for personal reasons. You have the right to not sit at that player's table, but if that player hasn't broken any of the rules of Pathfinder Society you will have no grounds by which to ban said player.
And you may find that if this person is actively trying to get under your skin, simply ignoring his antics may be the best way to defeat him.
I would like to see a flip-mat of the Beldrin's Bluff Drownyard. Not the one depicted in the scenario of Black Waters, 'cause that one's not really a useful map.
I feel that the way in which the Drownyard is described, it could be a really cool flip-mat and still be generic enough to be used in a plethora of other adventures.
Just sayin...
Congratulations and well deserved, Fair Lady, Noble Gentleman, and Michael!
Welcome to V-C land, Scott! It was fun smashing Lysallan cultists with you at Diecon! Come on over to Columbia sometime if you want to play at the Smackdown!
These look fantastic. I like the new paint schemes, and the format of these little "mini sets" works well to help me get my fix between larger expansions.
The set of these that I would most want to see doesn't have any past minis that could get a repaint, so I would assume at this time it would be impossible. However, I have found that the type of mini that I never have enough of and that I frequently need to use is an unarmed commoner. Yep, that's right: the set like this that I would be most impressed if Paizo released would be COMMONERS!
Please think about it, Erik! Thanks!
(Also, if you could throw out an albino half orc bartender mini, that would be aces!)
Hi, Great and Super-cool Paizo people,
With sadness and due to budget constraints, I am going to have to cancel my subscriptions to the RPG, Campaign Setting, and Comics at this time.
Please keep in place my Adventure Path and Modules subs.
Thank you very much,
Jason

Looks to me like its gonna be the best Bestiary yet!
Finlanderboy wrote: gifted adapt raises the castor level 1. Not the DC. That tatto also raises the castor level not the DC.
Gifted Adept: Your interest in magic was inspired by witnessing a spell being cast in a particularly dramatic method, perhaps even one that affected you physically or spiritually. This early exposure to magic has made it easier for you to work similar magic on your own. Pick one spell when you choose this trait—from this point on, whenever you cast that spell, its effects manifest at +1 caster level.
If you are a wizard in PFS you get spell focus for free. So you can get a tatto and spell specilaization and gifted adpat to cast a spell at level 5 castor level while being level 1. So for level dependant spells it is not a bad idea.
Ah, yes. Caster level, not spell level. That's what I get for shooting from the hip while half asleep.
Yet another Paizo employee representing the Mighty MO! Congrats, Justin! Make us Missourians proud!
(And feel free to stop by for a game if you are ever back in the area!)
The Gifted Adept trait would make the level bonus +2. So:
Cha 18 = +4
Gifted Adept = +2
Spell Focus = +1

Please help me in congratulating Christopher Hays as the newest Venture-Lieutenant of Missouri!
I did not know Chris before a few weeks ago. However, having played at his table and seen the deep dedication he has to the Society, I am excited to have him on board with the Missouri crew! He will be an excellent addition to the Venture Officer ranks!
Congrats, Thea, and welcome to the top of the mountain. Martinis are over there, and margaritas are by the pool. And look out these huge windows! We can see your house from here!
Just curious--where and when are the quests going to be published? I haven't seen any since Ambush Under Absalom.

Intelligent discussion and debate makes for a healthier community. Encourage it.
It sounds, to me, like there are lots of -good- reasons to keep these guys retired. Cool. Those reasons as a heck of a lot better than 'Cause Paizo reps said so'. The issue for a lot of us old timers, is that this an other issues have been discussed and debated multiple times. So while, you might see us as being dismissive, we are not, we are simply just really tired of the same arguments and discussions over and over with the same result being... because paizo said so. Amen.
Cool. Thank you. I was certain that was correct, but I couldn't find a table in the Core Rulebook to prove it.
A large greatclub does 2d8 damage, according to the weapon damage table in the Core Rulebook. How much damage would a huge greatclub deal, and how much would a gargantuan greatclub deal? There are several people in my gaming circle who have very different theories as to what the answer will be, and my semi-official answer has not kept any of them from thinking their answer is right.
Congratulations to you, Michael! Just FYI-I think one of the requirements for 5 stars now is that you come over to Columbia and run at one of our monthly Smackdowns*. Bring a bunch of St. Louis people with you. The next one is gonna be on January 19th at 5 P.M.
*(Not really a requirement, but we would sure love to have you over! We're only a short drive down I-70, and have some folks that drive from further away every time!)
And congrats again!
Greetings, Pathfinders,
I would like to extend an invitation to all of the Society to join me at Valhalla's Gate in Columbia, MO this Saturday for the special, Race for the Runecarved Key!
We will begin play at noon, but I recommend all to be early. After the Runecarved Key has been won, other Pathfinder Society missions will commence. I, for one, will be leading a group of Pathfinders down to Palin's Cove in an attempt to root out some Lisalla cultists!
I hope you all can join us!
Sincerely,
Venture-Captain Synestreth Krondrath
Congratulations to you, Kristina! Welcome to the fold!
Oops, I think it has something to do with having just one star and no avatar. We're gonna have to work on that!
Way to go, Tim! You earned it!
Barry Stoddard, aka techlee, has been promoted to the position of Venture-Lieutenant of Columbia, Missouri! Some of you may remember Barry's hijinks from the last couple of PaizoCons--he is a lot of fun to be around and always in a great mood! Barry has brought dozens of new players into the Pathfinder Society, and continues to bring in more with his Wednesday Night Games and the Pathfinder Smackdown every third Saturday. Congratulations to a great player, and awesome GM, and a good friend.
Congrats, Barry!

Dragons-I hate to just repeat what so many others have said more eloquently (which is one reason I don't post often), but dragons should be rare and special. I played in a game once where the gm decided there weren't enough dragons in the world, and wound up putting them everywhere. They became a joke instead of a treat.
Goblins-I don't mind goblins, but there are other low CR monsters out there, right?
Orcs-not done enough, but should be done well. More explorations into and near Belkzen would be fun.
Drow-should only be used in Darklands scenarios. They aren't even supposed to exist (according to surface races.) I guess they would be okay in a Celwynvian scenario as well.
Dinosaurs-I would love a dino scenario, as long as it makes sense.
Undead-without these, I would have an awful time keeping players interested in being Clerics. Nobody wants to be a full time band aid.
Swarms-while overused in the earlier seasons, they do have their place. Keep them around to keep parties on their toes.
Humanoids-Absolutely necessary. The Aspis Consortium needs to be a bit more badass, however.
I also think that ogres and, my favorite, oni should be used more often. I loved the ogre mage at the end of White Plume Mountain. I don't think that oni should only be used in Asian themed adventures. I love the idea of western-style oni.
I know who the two bad guys coming back are!
And, FWIW, I really like that there is an overarching story this season without smaller arcs. This should be really easy and fun to run.
Your party looks like it could really use an evoker and a bard.
The above posts are correct.

I once thought the same thing about where I live. So, I started some Pathfinder Society, and it got HUGE in no time!
If you don't have it where you are, start it up!
Last year, everybody brought their own characters, generated using PFS rules. Unless Wes jumps on here and says otherwise, I would assume it will be the same.
What class of character are you making?
What is the hotel situation gonna be like? Anyplace that you recommend? If I can find a reasonably cheap hotel room and drag some folks up with me, I will do so.

Some of the more common "the prisoner turns out to be..." examples are:
somebody important (like a prince or princess)
a doppleganger
an assassin, captured on his way to a big hit
a crazy old man who happens to know where X dungeon is
a normally evil monster that turns out to be good
Maybe one of these will spur your imagination...

If you are thinking of playing a rouge or a bard, I would choose the bard. The rouge tends to leave players red-faced.
Right now, I'm listening to Machine Head--American High.
Their CD, Unto The Locust, is the best metal release so far this year. They weren't one of my top 5 bands until this most recent CD. It is AWESOME!

Seriously, have any of the 'episodes' had you face down the Black Carriage? or encounter it?
1. Ancient Chinese secret
2. We arrived in Cesca one fine day when the Black Carriage had been seen in the area every night. It delivered a message, then sped off into the night. All of the characters were first level pre-gens, and many panties were soiled that night, let me tell ya!
