A saurian druid. That's different, but it works.

I've Always had a soft spot for the Talenta plain Halflings and there dinosaurs.. and there are plenty of ways to get a dinosaur companion. (Druid, Maddog Barbarian, Hunter, Sacred Huntsmaster Inquisitor, Wild Child Brawler. If you're willing to wait till 4th level, Saurian Domain Cleric, Nature Oracle and ranger all deliver one as well.) I considered all of the above but settled on the druid, and figured if you're going to be a druid with a dinosaur you might as well be a dinosaur shaman.

While I'm at it I had taken average roll for wealth... do you prefer us to roll?
Starting Druid Wealth: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9

Hello, I am really interested in getting into an Eberron Game... been years since I played there.

I would like to submit Gerryt Plainsman a Halfling native to the talenta plains, currently employed by house Jorasco, and his mount Glen the Clawfoot .

Background Blurb:

Nineteen years ago in the halfling city of Gatherhold a young Noble of house Jorasco met a young barbarian lass. Despite the fact that the noble was married and a prominent member in his halfling house, he was taken by the savage beauty of the young Talenta Plains maiden. An affair soon followed and subsequently hidden and written off as a youthful indiscretion.

Gerrytt Plainsman is the product of this union. Gerrytt was raised by his mother amongst the Nomadic Halfling tribes of the Talenta plains and has only met his father a handful of time. While his father will not claim him publicly (out of fear of what knowledge of his past affair would do to both his reputation and marriage), his father has arranged a role for the young halfling in house Jorasco. More out of curiosity than anything else the young halfling has taken up his fathers offer and finds himself traveling outside of the Talenta Plains for the first time in his life.

He has no idea why his father has arranged for him to travel to Stillstone Holt, but he's enjoying seeing so many different places in his travels.


Here's my first entry. Hope you like it let me know if anything needs polishing or fixing.

Ailbe Gruiag O'canail, Lupus, Theurge, Silverfang

Story:
Ailbe Gruiag O'canaill is a young lanky man with shockingly light colored hair and complexion. While appearing to be around 20 years old, he is in reality an 8 year old wolf, that due to his Were-heritage has been given the chance to learn about the human world.

Raised in the dense forests of Upper Peninsula Michigan, Alby's first two years of life were spent blissfully unaware of his connection to human kind. He had known that his father could somehow make himself look like one of the humans but it never occurred to him as a young pup to question this. The first time Ailbe changed into a human himself, it was strange and scary to him, but he also realized that this made him more like his father.

Knowing that Ailbe had more potential then simply being a wolf his father first gave him a human name and then entrusted Ailbe into the care of Ailbe's Grandmother Diedre O'canaill. A respected and wizened Silver fang theurge in her own right she has spent the last six years teaching Ailbe how to blend in with human society and what his role in Garou culture is.

Recently Deidre has lost track of one of her friends from her younger days and has decided to send Ailbe to the “Old Country”. She figures this will be a much needed chance for him to stretch his legs and learn some things for himself. Having written a letter of introduction for Ailbe and arranging a one way escort for him in the form of her personal totem spirit, she sent the boy off into a rainbow bridge armed with little more than the phone number and address to her house.

Gifts:

Sense Prey: The hunter’s player rolls Perception + Primal-Urge. The difficulty is 7 in wilderness environments and 9 in urban environments. Success indicates the location of enough prey to feed a large pack. In the case of multiple sources, the Gift guides the werewolf to the nearest source (although not necessarily the easiest or safest).
Sense Wyrm: The player rolls Perception + Occult. The difficulty depends on the concentration and strength of the Wyrm’s influence. Sensing a single fomor in the next room would be difficulty 6, while detecting the stench of a Bane that was in the room an hour ago would be difficulty 8. Vampires register as Wyrm-tainted, save those with Humanity Traits of 7 or higher.
Spirit Speech: Once learned, this Gift allows the Garou to understand the communication of spirits intuitively. Particularly alien spirits may be difficult — or, in the case of many Banes, outright painful — to understand.

Backgrounds:

Kinfolk: 2 Ailbe often misses his mundane pack in The America's. Even if his mother is a simple wolf who will never understand human society she is still his mother.

Pure-breed: 3 Ailbe has had his human lineage drilled into his head over the past six years by his grandmother. Personally he could care less who his ancestors were and how many of them were kings from various countries. Still he seems to be treated kindly by many of the older Garou because of this.

Resources: 1 Ailbe's grandmother has gifted him a small allowance. He has very little idea what to do with it though.

Rites: 3 Ailbe has spent many hours with his grandmother learning not just the manners of humans but also his spiritual role as a Theurge within Werewolf society.

Totem: 5 It is the role of the theurge to be the mediator between the spirit world and his pack and tribe. Ailbe takes this role very seriously and as such has found many spirits to be amenable to his entreaties.

1. A wolf recently released in a human world he is still fairly ignorant of the great deal of “basic education” that most humans have. He so wants to try driving a car.
2. Used to being a follower but has been given expectations to be a leader. He feels like he has allot to live up-to.
3. Takes his role as a spiritual leader in a pack seriously... to many hours with Grandma
4. Semi-Oblivious to the fact that other Garou often show him respect only because of his lineage.

Goals that you'd like the character to accomplish in-game
1. Gain some self confidence within the human world, Garou Society, and even the Umbra.
2. Solve at least one conflict without the pack going all rage monster on it.

Secret the PC keeps to himself
Hugh O'canaill has made contact with Ailbe through letters. Ailbe isn't very good at writing but his uncle has been helping him to become better at writing through their letters. Upto this point the letters have been almost entirely innocuos in nature.

Secret kept from the Pc
Why in the world Is Ailbe supposed to not trust his uncle? No one will tell Ailbe what happened in the past to drive his uncle away from his families sept.

1. Briggn O'canaill: is Ailbe's Father. He has retreated from the human world and instead chooses to live the majority of his life as a wolf traveling from sept to sept. He is dutiful to his mother and keeps an eye on her and is always willing to confront a minion of the wyrm.
2. Deirdre O'canaill: is Ailb'e Grandmother. She has been very dutiful in training up Ailbe in knowing the spiritual world and his role in it. She was often annoyed by the fact that Ailbe was often more interested in human things like televisions, movies, and sports.
3.The Torn Tree pack: Ailbes's family, back home in the America's. Mostly wolves that follow Ailbe's father. This is currently made up of Briggn O'Cannail (Ailbe's Silverfang Father), Redmane(Ailbe's full blood wolf mother), Erik Brace (Red Talon and life long friend of Briggn), Softpaws (Ailbe's full blood wolf sister), and White ears (Erik Brace' full blood wolf Mate)
4. Hugh O'canaill : Ailbe's estranged uncle. Ailbe has only met the older Garou once but has been warned by his grandmother to never trust him. Still he writes innocent letters to his uncle, what could it hurt?

1. The first time Ailbe made a kill. It was just a rabbit but it had been his kill. It was the first time he knew he could be self sufficient.
2. The first time he successfully summoned a spirit. His Grandmother had been so proud of him.
3. Grandmothers house always smelled like moth balls, and silver polish. The woman had more relics of her human ancestors than made sense to Ailbe. Strange swords, and pieces of jewelry were allover the place.

Iv'e got a real life game of WotR right now. I have decided I hate Mythic rules... the power level is silly. We had the GM decide to give one of the NPC's unlimited Hit Points... We did over 600 hit points 0f damage in 3 rounds of combat at level 10.

In real life I also have played Emerald Spire all the way through and have plans to play Reign of Winter and Mummy's mask. Currently I am running a Serpents Skull game as well (My players are in the 3rd book).

...While there are always those on the fringes who would take advantage of others... like Trini says... most people are good folks around here... There's always some one willing to share their lunch... or say hello too... or just smile at... people tend to work hard... and care about each other... after all if they didn't... we'd all be dead by now... there's lots of mysteries like where did the abyss gate come from... and how did all these people get here... and why does that small alley way across from the park smell like cabbage all the time... and why do some people like sandwiches with jelly... when it is obvious that there is no better sandwich then a peanut butter and squash sandwich...

Bently continues talking about random eating habits of some of his friends in Terrace and why they are all wrong as he retrieves the cup and loaf of bread from the counter wandering off to find something to fill said cup with.

well just scraping by... Bently places the Marble in the hands of who ever is closest who ever responds first then walks over to Korunar and takes a more serious look on his face.

I'm Sorry that you had to hurt those men Korunar... I never like to hurt anyone... I mean those men were someone's children once... but sometimes... we have to help people see that what they are doing hurts others... maybe some day one or two of those hood rats will see that what they are doing is wrong


Bently approaches the larger men talking...

Those Hoodrats are cowards... well most of em... heard rumors there's some big ones...but they're never on the streets... ones on the streets are little ones trying to make names for themselves by picking on good folks... when it comes down to it they won't even fight if the fight looks fair... one time I was running from three of them ... imagine that three Big men to get lil ol me... but I ran into an alleyway and there was this guy there in a cloak... I told him to run... and he just smiled at me... well I vanished up quick and those hoodrats come running into the alley way chasing after me... Only instead of me they find this lone guy...

Bently gets on his hands and knees where Harold fell and starts looking at the floor very intently...

Now where did that last marble go?... of course hoodrats are always happy to fight you when there's three of them and only one of you... but this guy pulls a sword made out of fire from thin air... THIN AIR I TELL YOU... well those hoodrats took off running... guy never even moved towards them... they just use their numbers and plain meanness to push around the poor people in the southern part of the city...I always wondered who that guy was... I always figured he was a filigree or maybe from the Alleys... he never stuck around to tell me... just told me it was safe and continued on his way... How many jumped you Korunar?Here it is!

Bently comes up holding one single silvery marble...

Bently picks up the cup and loaf of bread he had dropped on the ground during his dive and sets them on the counter...

Oh yes... I have money... Here Harold take my money... I don't think I have ever been able to pay before... and never have you turned me away...Never sent me away hungry have you... Syrnisha you are too kind... so very nice... but no I have too pay... so much I owe Harold from over the years... I grew up in this city... When I was but a child he fed me for the first time... and never has he turned me away... nope I owe him a debt... and for the first time I have money... I must pay up... It's the right thing to do...

Bently places a pouch jingling with coins into Harolds hands.

Bently throws himself on top of Harold in attempt to shield the much larger man with his own smaller body from the falling bottle of ale.

He trails off saying nothing in particular to no one in particular. His arms full he jumps down off of his seat uanaware of the:

Marbles can be used to slow opponents. One 2-pound bag of marbles covers an area 5 feet square. A creature entering a square with marbles scattered on it must succeed at a DC 10 Reflex save or fall prone (the creature's stability bonus to trip applies to this save). Any creature moving at half speed or slower can pick its way through a square of marbles with no trouble.

reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 He lands on the ground one of the Marbles squarely under his feet. A little dance later the halfling recovers looking a little silly but not having dropped any of the bowls.

Boy who left those there?... Give me just a moment and I'll have those cleaned up before anyone hurts themselves... Us Abyss delvers have to stick together... you all look very capable... he trails off on his uninterrupted pointless nattering while busily cleaning up the marbles and bowls that people are done with.


Shaken out from his moment, of stupefaction by the sight of his first half-giant...

Talks twice as much.... TALKS TWICE AS MUCH.... I TALK AT LEAST THREE OR FOUR TIMES AS MUCH AS OTHER FOLKS!!!!!.... Bently starts belly laughing at his own joke about himself.

He wipes a tear from his face and takes new stock of his surroundings and starts back into his normal staccato cadence of breathless speach...

Korunar Bloodaxe...well if the Name fits... I think I have seen you around town a bit... My apologies that I never said Hello before.... Just so many people to say Hi too... speaking of... Hello foxy Lady... It's funny cause she has a Fox... but it's also funny cause she's pretty... WAIT!... A dwarf without a beard... now Iv'e seen it all... While talking Bently has retrieved several more bowls... washed them... filled them and placed them in front of or into the hands of anyone currently without a bowl... even if they have just walked away from their original bowl. The last bowl he sets on the ground in front of the Fox...

with this final flurry of F's the Halfling jumps on a stool grabs a spoon and attacks his bowl with relish... finally growing quiet and giving other a chance to talk.


With a quick "POP" a slight Halfling appears in the room short of breath.
Hey Trini... Bently keeps talking seeming to not wait for an answer or have any need to stop to breathe between statements. Looking lovely as always... how's the family... Harold out on an errand again... had the worst time getting here... I have got to make some moneys and move out of the south district... Nearly got mugged by some HoodRat's... Rat's Nesters are the worst... Nothing a simple Vanish spell couldn't Handle...

While going through his little monologue Bently has gone through a small stack of bowls in the corner, selected one and washed it out. He makes his way to Trini setting his bowl down in front of her with a couple small coins seeing as this is neither his first time here or he has anything to toss in the pot... all of a sudden he seems to notice for the first time that there are people here other than Trini...

Looking at Chelas Wow you are a big gnome... and that is a fancy spear chucker you got there... although you look comfortable with it... speaking of comfortable with his weapons check out the guy with the daggers... bet he didn't even realize he was caressing them... do you three need a room there... Oh and Who's your green friend there... Orc with an axe ooh I always like having an AXE WITH AN ORC around... you get it Trini... the Axe owns him...

As Bently is laughing at his own joke he backs into Taunk by accident and turns around and for the first time since walking into the room goes quiet. His gaze slowly climbs the body of the Half Giant standing inches from him and when his head is tilted up as far as it can go he whispers What are you?
