Yep, that's right for me. I finished up his background. Some minor things I'm still working on like going over his spells (trying to pick ones that both fit the character concept and will be useful to him and the party) and gear.
Uncertain if Zurei would be staying with his sponsor or a room in the college. I would suspect the later, but he'd be open to staying with them to be at their beck and call. If he is granted enough for a room at the school he'd likely try to take the cheapest option available from a role-play perspective. He enjoys luxury, but would feel guilty living it up with someone else footing the cost.
As far as tuition is concerned, I imagine Zurei would have sought out and gained some sponsors (either through promising work for them, paying them back, or maybe a bit of charm person usage). Possibly to the point of acting as a sort of object for a rich noble to brag about ("Did I tell you about the amazing mage I'm sponsoring in the So and So School?"). Bonus of working for a plot hook later on that he can't really refuse. He wouldn't target anyone that couldn't afford it, mind you, and making sure he pays them back and doesn't spurn their good will would keep him in the school and ensure he wouldn't waste their generosity. Possibly several and paying them back little by little each. Thoughts? Anyway, will have a background with at least the major points of his past up for this afternoon once I get back home.
Here is what I have so far. Background is still being prepared and still finding errors I need to fix (plus general clean up). Hoping to have it done for tomorrow sometime, though but for now though I have to hit the hay what with work in the morning. Thoughts, comments, and so on very welcome. |
