Moving to N:3 - casting Summon Monster with summoning mastery in H:2 The creature screeches at the summon, then strikes the human in front of it, talon and beak flashing with holy energy. Shifting to Q:5, and using Summoning Mastery to call forth another eagle in X:2. As the creature soars from another plane of existence, her shriek pierces the air, while it launches an attack at the burly humanoid. Avoid the shallow pool in the center Albion - Do I understand correctly that there are three exits from that room? A door to the east, a secret door to the north, and a hallway to the Northeast? If so, please take maximum care and investigate further the origin of the sounds first, and the secret door second - take as much time as needed Zaxxeon addresses his companions, and passes on the information he received from Albion - "Towards the East, Albion has found a dark room - a massive chamber filled with cobwebs and dust. A shallow pool twenty feet across lies in the middle of said room, with tall pillars to the east of it, each carved to look like a tall, beautiful, human woman. The ceiling is vaulted, and a crescent moon has been painted at the highest point, which is directly above the pool. Although the paint is chipped, it still retains a peculiar luster that reflects light with a glistening glow. The walls sport a few empty sconces, and there is an imposing set of bronze doors on the east wall bearing images of winged horses rearing majestically. There is also a secret door in the northern portion of the room, and a faint scratching coming from the northeast side, down a hallway - I have asked ALbion to investigate the sounds first, and the secret door second, but I am already intrigued with this secret passageway he has reported"

HP 16/16 || Spells:1st (2/2) / 0 (at will) || Summoning Mastery: 7/10 Untrained Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 The dark and brooding mood of Zaxxeon is only accentuated by that constant presence on his shoulder - the small humanoid creature that constantly sits there, as if it simply owned the position is uncommon to say the least - its skin is completely dark, as if that of a drow elf, it has the features of a small human, but only as far as it possesses two arms, two legs and a head. It looks emaciated - almost shaded out, and almost invisible when standing in any sort of shade. His red eyes seem slightly bulbous and too big for its small head, much like his sharp teeth filled mouth and his pointed ears. Surprisingly enough, it is dressed with plain black clothing, and carrying some sort of small pack at its back where you all know he stores his favorite tools. Zaxxeon himself has the cowl of his cloak pulled over his head as he does most of the time - the half-elf features are evident in his pointed ears (now hidden), his golden eyes, and white hair - in contrast with a deeply tanned skin, undoubtedly an heritage of his human progenitor. He dresses in a simple traveller's outfit, and a long robe that goes down all the way to his feet, with a golden trim. With a light frame, his features are hard and well chiseled. As he steps into the dimly lit area - the last rays of sunlight filtering in from outside, Zaxxeon is initially silent - We are finnaly here... - he ponders to himself. Turning to the others, he comments - "Let us chose one direction and stick to it - Albion will check the exits" He nods to the creature on his shoulder, and it retorts something in his ear - something the diminute creature seems to be constantly doing - then hops to the floor, bowing deeply with a huge grin - "Yes Master" - its voice almost a whisper - then takes off through the West corridor. HP 16/16 || Spells:1st (2/2) / 0 (at will) || Summoning Mastery: 7/10 GM Seamus, I'll finish up on my gear in a couple of hours, and add the formatting as requested. @Harrigan: Initially, I had intended to build a Rogue, heading the Arcane Trickster way - been wanting to try a character like that for a long time. But since there were multiple rogue applications, I decided to change routes and head towards Master Summoner. Albion (My Eidolon) is built as a scout, and he really should be able to take up the part if necessary (or assist if someone else takes up that role) - He has a decent Disable Device skill, which should allow him to deal with mundane traps, but if I am correct, I don't think he will be able to handle magical traps - I think he is still able to detect them with Perception though. Hehe Xaeken, I second that battle plan, though I am honestly not planning to swarm the combats with Summoned Creatures - I don't want to bog the game down. As far as standing orders, Zaxxeon would be better placed somewhere in the middle of the group - he is ful caster, and even with double hp (need to adjust that also on my alias), he is VERY squishy (poor AC and hit points). Albion is definitely supposed to scout - it is a risk, but he is well aware of it :D On the other hand, his contribution in combat will be far from anything decent, so I am guessing he is staying out of it almost 100% of the time.

I hope I am still on time for this one as I have been mulling over my application for some time now, even among Christmas gifts and New Year celebrations :D I would like to put forth Zaxxeon into the ring - he is a Master Summoner in search of power and answers about his past, followed closely by his Eidolon and advisor Albion, The Eye. All the crunchy details are in the alias link, and below is an excerpt that I hope transmits the feel of what I want Zaxxeon to be: Lurking in Darkness: Zaxxeon never knew his mother or father – by now he understands he is an half-breed. He has been reminded of the worst possible conotations for the word throughout his entire life. Not even knowing how he survived during his early years, there has been a presence however, that has always been there, ever since he remembers – Albion – he vividly recollects his whispered words in his ears, the vaguely humanoid shadow creature showing up at the most dire of times to scare off those that would assault a weak, lonesome child, and to lead him into safety. In dark corners they would speak for hours on end, while every once in a while Albion would slip away to fetch nourishment to the young ling – moving around unseen was something the eidolon could do easily enough, so he always managed to find the best places to hide the child, and keep it safe - ”Rest child…” – he would whisper in his ear, soothing away the fear of being alone – ”Albion is here, and will keep you safe as promised”
The Eidolon’s coaxing continued as the boy grew into an adolescent, without ever detailing how it was that he knew so much about him, simply dodging the question with flat statements – ”I am not here to groom you master, I am here to walk alongside with you – whatever discoveries or insights into your past that you deem necessary, it will be up to you to search and uncover – I will aid you in what I can, but will not walk the path for you” Initially Zaxxeon was displeased at this attitude, but soon he understood that it only strengthened his resolve in more than one way – he refused to be weak ever again, taking upon himself the task of learning to stand on his own two feet forever in the future – he understood that he was not physically as strong as others, but he could feel the tinge of power, yet untapped, lurking behind his eyes, and at the edge of his consciousness – he understood what it was while lurking one night across the sewers, exploring for the simple sake of it – while Albion scouted a side tunnel, he was standing alone at an intersection, and before he even realized, a swarm of vermin was upon him – Vermin! I will not die to vermin! – he had thought to himself in anger, as his mental shout went out to Albion to return from the side tunnel. It was for naught, he knew, as Albion could not decimate a swarm of such creatures. As he retreated, the rage welled up in him, and burst out in an extremely unpredictable fashion, as words of power left his lips, gaining momentum as they proceeded, coalescing into something palpable – before he was aware of it, a creature made purely of fire stood before him – it did nothing – nothing besides burning the rat swarm into cinders and nothingness… Then it simply turned to Zaxxeon, offered what could be called a greeting, and disappeared, as quickly as it had initially shown up. To the side, Albion snickered – ”Now you understand” – he said softly. This was a decisive moment in the young man’s life – he rejoiced at the power, and relished in its control – he understood what he was capable of, and that he did not have to fight all of his own battles – with time he learned to tap this… Ability… This… Power that allowed him to reach across the planes and draw forth those to do his bidding. He understood how versatile this ability was, and smiled. Using a multitude of different minions, he gained access to the library, he understood what he was, and what power was at his command – at the back of his head though, he could never really shake away the feelings of weakness and powerlessness he had felt in the early years of his life – he needed to become stronger, MUCH stronger if he wanted to shed the cloak of vulnerability – he left himself fall into that search, and learned all he could about his own abilities until one day, as Zaxxeon started becoming frustrated at not being able to hone his abilities further, Albion spoke again of his past – ”It is time we left, no master? It is time we seek that what you wish the most – answers, and POWER… Dragon's Delve are the words you are missing Master - Dragon's Delve are the words, the answer and the power all in one” |
