"If our work will help at all, this affair is a good venture," Yesmoro says, grinning as much as his serpentine mouth allows.

Indeed, I had fun! Apologies for not being able to roleplay or get into the special rules very well, the computer problems were bad, but I appreciate your being quite accommodating to that.

"I agree with Telosss," Yesmoro hisses. "It would be preferable to take our leave early, but there remainsss work to be done. We need to clean up, our time will nearly reach a dwindle."

Yesmiro readily heals Narayan, shaking his head at the loss of good books as he does so. "No other way around that, unfortunately," he hiss-mutters. He marvels at the secret door and trap but stays well away from it for fear of triggering anything.

Yesmoro steps back in alarm at the attacking books, slow to react, but he snaps into action. The chatter of his comrades becomes unintelligible as his stressed mind switches gears to only understand Infernal. He lets out several guttural, grating barks most would not be able to decipher as he moves in with his axe.

Damage, Slashing: 1d12 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

Unable to find anything of magical significance, Yesmoro follows Narayan into the fifth room, fascinated by the well-kept nature of it. Exactly the way it ssshould be.

Will take Perception at a penalty, for lack of a better skill.

Perception, before penalty: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

Yesmoro shakes his head at what he sees as the ludicrousness of the situation. "Have any of you been to the Overflow Archive, at the Grand Lodge? I find I am reminded of it, although nothing here will attack, I hope. That happened to be quite the tale, Good...Lion?" The nagaji pauses, unsure of what to say. "What are you called, Good Lion? I am Yesssmoro, and I have plumbed many a library before, even one riddled with tiny fey, as I had been alluding to! They tried valiantly to take our teeth, which I gave freely, much to their chagrin. They did not note it coming, and paid the penalty with a tiny limb or two. And then you had the crazed kitsssune...But my apology, I have to help my team. Mayhap we can talk of grand matter at a later point, eh?"

Yesmoro then broadens his sight to the magical, and, while unable to discern and discover particular auras, he works towards a better understanding of the library and its magical workings.

Knowledge (Arcana), Aid: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Apologies for my absence, my computer has been having issues, as have I. I should be able to fulfill posting requirements from work or the library, or mobile, although I am somewhat loath to do so from there. If needed, I can, though.

"The room here, likely a front and a real haven regarding the nearby bardic academy," Yesmoro muses. "A fine idea, kind Elf, I will delve into the magical layer of the matter. Nēnu, bhēṣuggā, unnānu..." The nagaji's lidless eyes glow a brilliant white as his sight broadens to include that which is arcane. His speech, seemingly unconsciously, turns to a stylized yet grating Infernal.

Perception, Guidance: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Also casting Detect Magic, but I don't have Spellcraft yet.

"More knowledge regarding your method of archival and inventory would be welcome," Yesmoro nods, grinning amiably.

-6 stealth here, with the Haunted curse as well :/

"Indeed, you can make the current event lack difficulty by pointing to the library," Yesmoro adds, his natural bulk contributing greatly to his argument.

Aid Another, Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

Yesmoro fits several sticks of chalk and charcoal, as well as some paper, into his belt so it is close at hand. "I will carry the invisibility elixir for the time being, in the unfortunate event it will be needed I will be quite requiring of the power it can grant." He also pushes his axe into his massive backpack, loath as he is to have it further away than his side or in his hand.

"I divine we have a worthy cover then," Yesmoro grins, marveling over the modified deck. "And what the package will no longer hold will likely prove quite utile. Are we on a clock when it will come to getting there? Either way, it would be practical to review what will be found in each other package and be on our way, or to prepare."

Yesmoro flicks his tongue about in agitation. "I do not know if I can enter the unknown archive in good faith, much I would like to. I tend to be very loud, even without armor, which we may not need there. But I will try hard not to ruin cover. I love to learn and behold important text."

"I bid you greeting, I am Yesssmoro," the stockier of the nagaji grins. "Have you any idea what we are doing here? I am currently unaware of the greater detail and parameter of our job to do here." He then winces. "I apologize. I have an intimate goal to avoid the hated letter, 's.' It may render me both verbossse and repetitive concurrently, difficult to comprehend, but if it will end up in a problematic manner, alert me and I will try hard to no longer."

I can change mine temporarily, at least, if it proves confusing :)

Also, Mr. Copperpot, level 3 is always considered out-of-tier in a 1-5 for purposes of gold and such.

"Isss here the location at which we were bid to be?" Another massive nagaji asks, pronouncing 'location' low-cay-zhun and being overly verbose in his constant quest to make the 's' sound as little as he can. "Before our meeting I had been informed that combat would be not a difficulty, only learning. Given this and many another factor, I look forward to our exploration together."

A hulking nagaji steps up to the new notice, flicking his forked tongue in excitement. "I believe the particular objective noted here will be enjoyable enough to ssslake my appetite for knowledge," he says, ending up very verbose as he takes as much effort as he can not to say the letter 's.'

Signed up. Yesmoro here primarily does do combat, but he loves to learn and is also a utility/knowledge character on the side.

"Indeed, we ought to prepare for all contingenciesss we can. We will keep the door not open."

"Indeed, we can handle that," Yesmoro drawls. "Where isss that book...?" He then whispers, half to himself and half to Aiden.

No problem, take your time. Curse that real life....

"And what will Koi do to him? Kill him, sssend him back to a dungeon?"

I assume she still has her staff, she used Hand of the Apprentice with it..

Yesmoro runs straight at the fox, swinging his axe sideways from overhead, trying to brain his opponent with the flat of his weapon.

Axe, nonlethal, charge, all those other bonuses: 1d20 + 9 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 9 + 2 - 4 = 8

The operative word, of course, being tried.

Yesmoro, slightly loath to attack a reptile, hesitates for a second. He then notices the arrow between its eyes and the quickly swelling bruise from the staff, and rushes forward.

Damage: 1d12 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19

"Then we'd bessst take him alive," Yesmoro shrugs, shouldering his ax. "Although we musssn't let that rule over halting the plan of this fox."

"I am capable of sssuch magic, I can lend a hand," Yesmoro hisses in his normal voice. He looks a bit tired from his rampage, but pulls out a wand all the same and taps Virml with it.

Yesmoro shakes his head vigorously through the cloud of dust and the attempt to sway his mind. Further enraged, he strides forward and takes an overhead swing at the remaining creature!

Yesmoro sloshes through the curtain and across the floor towards the strange creatures. He is thoroughly disturbed by the bloody teeth and seeks to eliminate the source, growing increasingly incensed as long as they remain. He roars out to his comrades, but his voice comes out in a guttural, scraping tongue!

"You look to be having trouble with that door," Yesmoro notes, wading up. "That, at leassst, I can fix."

Yesmoro follows his companions about, ax still drawn.

Yesmoro takes a running leap across the shelves, nearly falling into the water. He then takes a swipe at the strange worm with his ax.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 - 4 = 5 Phew, that was close...

Ax: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Damage: 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Ah, the emissary is so much fun. My swashbuckler for Eyes of the Ten has one.

Yesmoro causes his ax to glow with a bright light. Not one to tread water unless necessary, he climbs up a shelf.

Climb: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 4 - 2 = 22

"What did you sssee, Aiden?"

"Let we sssee if talking can handle our problem, before we think of resssorting to violence," Yesmoro hisses, but he too draws his axe. "Granted, better sssafe than dead."

"Agreed. We mussst do what we can to halt the flooding." Yesmoro stumps towards the staircase.

"Relax, we are not here to ssscare your prey," Yesmoro hisses soothingly, trying to put the gathlains at ease. "But what do you hunt? I do not notice any fisssh, only paper."

Diplomacy Aid: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

He also tries to as quietly as possible relate what knows about gathlains to the others, and points out the drain. He then makes his way over to said drain and starts gingerly pulling out the detritus, in an attempt to salvage some of the papers and lower the water level.

"Agreed, let usss get it over with," Yesmoro murmurs calmly. He attaches his ax to a loop on his belt, and straps a massive, pronged lucerne hammer to his back. Having readied himself, he follows the others.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

"I think we have gleaned all the information we can without going, so let usss be off," Yesmoro declares. His hand had rested on his ax, but now it returns to his side. "Hopefully will be little need for weaponsss, but cannot be too careful."

Turning to his companions, he inquires, "And you all, what can you do? We will likely need many kind of talent for what isss to come."

"And if we can't halt it, then what?" Yesmoro inquires. "Sssalvage whatever we can? The water level, be it heightening?" He is obviously taking great pains to avoid the letter 's'. "Anything in particular we can anticipate in there? What to look out for, or go out of our way to retrieve?"

A massive brass-scaled nagaji strides into the room. He wears an ill-fitting chain shirt, faded breeches, and a fancy grey hooded cloak. A giant two-headed ax is strapped to his back. Despite his quick walk, he seems incredibly clumsy and slow, and touches as little as possible for fear of dropping it. Nevertheless, he appears to be excited to have something to do.

As long as we're mentioning shenanigans, Yesmoro has the Misfortune revelation, allowing him to give or force a reroll once per person per day. It can only be used once per round as it is an immediate action. It might be a bit clunky in PbP, but I suppose I could declare and/or make the reroll (since I could see the bonuses behind it) if I can post before you. That would restrict its usage a bit, which could be a good thing in this case, though.

This would make a great basis for a monster, although I’m not thrilled with the ‘consume and cast spells’ bit. It’s a bit niche for an item...
