Find some where to contain them and alert people to things going on in their basement. :P

"Which way to the Clerics?" Xochti asks any nearby folks.

Xochti helps setting up the ropes to lift kids out of the pit and up onto the path towards the surface.

Climb:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

"They respond to words. We can set ourselves up in stages and haul them out.." Xochti points out.

*"We win"* It's a short, simple punchy tag line. (^_^)

*Nods* Cool, we do it with the silk and such. Use the rocks etc to our best advantage. Thunder-Dwarf-cats HO!

Um...get them out of Dodge? Fix ropes and stuff to haul them up and out. Shift them to a side of the cave that shouldn't fall on them any time soon.

Xochti enters the prisoner's cave and looks around, mentally tallying up everything they can use in their favor.

Perception:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13(Rock spurs, clefts in rock-faces etc)

At Agia's shout Xochti turns and races off to help the kids.

"Wha...!" Xochti exclaims, startled by something she sees. She points,

"That globe. There was a picture...Durgen and that woman. Some one attacking them..." She turns to her companions and uncle.

"What is this thing? What did I see?"

Okay, all bets are off. We get the kids, get out of this Dodge and get the heck to that other Dodge. :P

Stopping at the entrance to the room and looking around carefully.

perception:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Also, this whole room just sounds....weird...

It's out!? Oh scrap!

Xochti just shakes her head and moves along beside her Uncle, though wanting to bolster the Half-Orc's advance....

Knowledge Stone Mason:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

What caused the collapse?

Okay, where's next to explore? Have we covered everything?

"I have no way to help the injured. Perhaps we should leave and call in the army?"

Aye, next. Also keeping ay eye out for a way to save the kids. Moving along though.

Xochti nods. "Fine, we come back with a lot of chains and pitons and get creative later. Next door. corridor, whatever..."

"Well..there's nothing stopping us from simply looking into the room. If we maybe see something we think is useful, then we figure out a way in. Other wise? Lets just make a note and move on, hey?' Xochti suggests.

"Scrap! The darn door way itself is even trapped!" She exclaims going cross eyed at looking at the wires in front of her nose.

Um...Xochti hasn't....

Perception:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28 (What the heck...)

Xochti, after lending as much of the little strength she has at getting Aden back up on the level, steps up to the door frame and puts her back to the wall. She is getting ready to peer around the corner of the door frame.

"That's...not...good!" Xochti manages through gritted teeth as she does her best (Hah!) at trying to hold Aden up.

*Sigh* So much for standing to one side of the door....(-_-)

Str Check:1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6 (Aiding another. No way am I letting Uncle take such a risk as going over the edge after Aden.)

Not like Xochti is adding a lot any ways. :P

Xochti also points out that if Aden stands on this particular side of the door when he works the handle he'll be less likely to get smacked over the edge by the thing.

Xochti shakes her head, "No real skill...but a bit of engineering lets one understand the gist of the thing." She points.

"The door is rigged to spring open and throw who ever is in front of it back into the water." Xochti moves over and examine said pool of liquid blackness.

perception:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

(And add the DM's exposition of whatever said fluid is capable of doing to a body)

She returns to the door and examines the handle mechanism.

"So...if we can some how twist the opening mechanism from afar, we should have the door open and no one wet." She looks to her Uncle for approval or addition thoughts.

"Hmm....unstable lines in the rocks here..." She muses, "Possible fractures...." She slowly wanders towards the metal door. "Maybe extra bracing to keep the chamber beyond from collapsing in...?" She ponders.

Perception:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 (Looking for traps and such, though no skill in disarming them)

Knowledge (Stone Mason):1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

"Are...we in a pipe...?" Xochti asks looking around at the change in decor.

Xochti nods, "Lets just hope it wasn't in there..." She indicates the crumbling, gas/smoke filled chamber every one is backing out of.

DM ulgulanoth:
As of his time I have neither the energy, nor inclination to reply to the thread's happenings. Been a long series of shifts and the differences in time-zones isn't helping.

I do hope the other players/characters can have fun/get a good run up at saving the kids.

Lots of work and no sleep make Peebo not a happy...something, something...

Back out of the crumbling room and get to the children. Is simple. :P

bump!

Alright the cave with the jars is falling apart, anyone going to try to save the prisoners in the cave bellow?

Of course!

Xochti moves to make sure the door is clear for people to get out, even as she continues to watch the floor and the ominous cracks which are spreading across it.

Last Dwarf out!

:P

Xochti continues to heft her hammer and nods in agreement with her Uncle as she awaits developments.

"If it wakes up, I don't think stepping is going to matter that much Uncle." Xochti warns. Readying an action to smack the thing if it does rise.

Xochti gasps as Aden leaps forwards and deals with the Derro. Only to watch the figure turn from twisted Dwarf into a deceased Gnome. As the blood washes over the floor and then just as quickly vanishes Xochti cries out.

Dwarven!:
"Uncle! The floor!"

"There's something under the floor!" Her language changes and she shifts her stance, all the while staring down and now, hefting her hammer, awaiting for things to go from weird to worse.

Xochti freezes in mid step...

"Oh....bottersnipe!" She swears softly. Her emotions getting the better of her caution.

Spoiler:
Wait...the crystal and worms are in the Ceiling? Right. So...where exactly is Moma worm?

(O_o)

Xochti moves to take a five foot step forwards and prepares to 'lay the hammer down'.

Perception:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

Xochti frowns and looks to her Uncle with a questioning eyebrow raised. Though she does keep glancing up to keep tabs on the crystals and their occupants.

Okay, lets go get Derro!

Xochti frowns, probably not happy at leaving a foe at their backs...but moves to stand beside/behind her uncle and follow his lead.

Xochti hefts her hammer and looks at Agia,

"Better the worms and us...than the worms and children..." She replies gravely.

Perception:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

At her Uncle's words Xochti frowns. "I say we smash the rocks and break the cycle." She points to the ceiling with her hammer, though frowning as she tries to think of a way to enact her plan.

Hmmm...any one got a ranged 'elemental' attack? Gon'a have to pick me up some spell casting, me thinks. *Ponders*

Xochti takes one end of the rope her Uncle holds out, ties it about her waist and climbs.

Check1:1d20 + 4 - 5 ⇒ (18) + 4 - 5 = 17(Armor check penalty)

Check2:1d20 + 4 - 5 ⇒ (16) + 4 - 5 = 15(Armor check penalty)

Deftly working her way up to join Agia. She looks around for something/where to tie her end of the rope too.

Perception:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

Don't you love it when the dice roller allows the character to make a task look easy? :P

Annnd with a '1'? She's probably trying to tie the rope to Agia. :P

Xochti nods, "Aye, deal with the Derro and we can at least walk these folks out of here with more safety."

Really? No one has any hints on who to see about healing/fixing the victims? That's saddening. :(

Xochti nods at the Cleric's words. So...who do we know who could help them?" Xochti counts the amount of prisoners,

Perception:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26 And the resulting number seems daunting

"And we know the local Wizards will be of no help..." She adds scornfully. (Assuming Xochti has been brought up to speed on such things.)

Knowledge Local:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Xochti goes about preparing to make scarf's for the waifs. Hence trying to make them less 'contagious' to party members and the public at large.

*Grumbles* Yay, frekkin' dice roller... (-_-)

Sense Motive:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Call me a paranoid young Dwarf...but...me thinks something bad might be about to happen (¬_¬)

Initiative:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Xochti shudders,

"we get these poor souls out of here and we get them healed..." She states emphatically.

Knowledge Nature:1d20 + 0 ⇒ (15) + 0 = 15 (A complete guess, no skill)

Xochti looks to her Uncle for an explanation as he examines the tragic waifs.

Xochti again frowns at news of the prisoners treatment. Thinking of the spiders they'd faced before her imagination is not kind at conjuring up images of what could be 'infesting' the children.

*Nods* Indeed, with a result like that I'm surprised Xochti even knows where the floor is. :P

Xochti nods and accedes to Agia's wisdom, though the doughy Dwarven lass stays near her Uncle.

Perception:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 (Plus dark-vision)

"Ah..." Xochti goes back to looking at the seams between the crystal and the walls. "Maybe...if we put a lever...or a crowbar between..." She muses.

So, which way next?

Xochti frowns at Aden, "Well...yes, it did." She turns to Agia,

"Can you do the reverse of what ever it was you just did?" She asks simply.

Xochti nods at Madwand's explanation/admission. She does frown as she tries to work out what his words mean to her Uncle, even as she tries to think of something else which might effect the impediment before them.

While Agia 'powers up', Xochti looks to 'Madwand'...

Just hoping our Wizard can pop in with a post. :)
