Wren smiles confidently. "Now this sounds like fun. Sneak into an Alliance building and switch out their datapad right under their noses? Sign me up! I can do the actual swap, I've done a lot of sleight of hand in my time. Arabella and Daisy, having you two do the talking while I make the switch would be a fine distraction. Others could be watching to make sure we aren't interrupted and be ready to move if things go south." The dark-haired thief suggests.

That's good to know, Daisy. I've held off on watching that movie because I didn't think he could possibly come close to Leslie Nielsen's comedic humor. Maybe I'll give it a shot after all. Those old Police Squad shows are pretty damn funny too, if you ever get the chance to watch them. There aren't many... eight, I think? One of the funniest bits of each (there's sooo many...) is when everyone 'freezes' at the end when the credits start rolling.

Wren favors sleeping here, rather than heading back to the ship. They'll all be in their own berths for the next few weeks while in the black, so a little vacation from that is good news to her ears.

Wren nods, pleased at the response. She answers within the mind link. Count me in. So long as you don't drop me into a war zone. No offense, Harold. I'm not exactly soldier material.

Wren slips into the group mind meld as well, though not without reservations. She mostly plays with her food, eating some but not really tasting it. Alright, well since you're being all accomadatin', how about you tell us your end game? What is it you're lookin' to accomplish? I hate the purple bellies as much as anyone for how they treated my pa', and I get no small amount of pleasure from tweakin' their noses when I can. But seems to me you're lookin' to do more than that. Or am I wrong?

Wren gives Lynx a wry smile. "You can trust me to keep your secrets. I excel at that. And if you have need of someone to steal something other than thoughts, I'm your girl. For the right price, of course." She will trail along with the other crew members, appearing to be window shopping idly, but actually keeping an eye out for anyone that might seem a little too interested in her or any of the others. Wren gets in on the mental conversation as well, finding this form of communication to be intriguing - if a bit disconcerting. "<A local job could be shiny, especially if we're planning on a quick exit from this rock.>"

Wren keeps her game face on, though she is startled when Arabella speaks of the Alliance using Reavers? The thief has heard the stories of course, but never seen one herself. In fact, she's often wondered if the stories are perhaps only based partially in truth, spiced with a whole lot of rumor and fabrication just to keep folk on the border planets tetchy. Wouldn't that be just like the Alliance, after all? She makes a mental note to ask about it later, and concentrates on Lynx.

"I think our hacker owes us a refund." Wren mutters, shaking her head, then turns back to Lynx. "Well, turns out you're right, I've got no love for the Alliance. Not convinced you're a reader though, but that aside, I'm interested what ya think of these Unseen Sleepers? Seems as though they've heard of you, anyway. Sent us to find you, just as Daisy here says."

Wren finishes her drink and then gets up, taking a look around before moving to stand next to Harold. Her smile that she directs to the mysterious lady is not exactly warm. "So. Where are you taking us? Someplace with better food and less watered down drinks, I hope?"

If she hears the threat, Wren sets down her drink calmly and stays watchful, figuring this mystery woman must surely have backup somewhere nearby. She subtly checks her knives to make sure they are in easy reach as she waits for imminent violence.

Wren will suggest a red handkerchief might work, winking at Harold as she says it. The idea of the browncoat with a red kerchief sticking out of a pocket is amusing to her. Once all is set, she'll take a seat in the bar, away from Harold but within eyeshot as she orders a drink and something to eat.

Wren keeps to her quarters for the most part as well, feeling under the weather and not wanting to make other sick as well. After a few days though, she is feeling better and heads down to the mess hall where she meets the scientists that she'd heard they'd taken on as passengers. She chats with them to pass the time, but her thoughts are on this mysterious meeting they're headed to...

So I am taking a road trip to Colorado and AZ on Saturday, and will be gone through October 7th, roughly two and a half weeks or so. I'll have a laptop and internet access now and then, so I'll try to post when I can, but feel free to bot me whenever necessary. Thanks all!

Wren shrugs. "As you say, rep is everything in the black. From what we've heard, you're good as your word. Still, check in with us tomorrow night, just to give us a progress report if nothing else. We're investing a fair amount of coin here. Well, he is, anyway." She grins and points to Brook.

Wren is willing to pitch in her fair share, if Arabella isn't able to haggle down the price. She'll cough up 200pp, figuring 1/5 the asking price is fair as her own share. Is there five of us?

Wren does what she can to assist in finding someone more reliable. Wren pats Harold's arm, her trademark wry smile firmly in place. "Don't worry big guy, I'll protect you if the fight gets too close and personal. And maybe this 'Surefire' is solid and we're gettin' all worked up over nothing anyway."

Wren thinks on what Daisy said she heard about this 'Surefire' fellow and frowns skeptically. "Seems like an awful bad way to do business, if you ask me. Word gets around after all, and if you don't got a solid rep, ain't nobody gonna hire you. Could be she's just got an axe to grind, or maybe it's the truth. Seems to me we should talk to him anyway, size him up and then make our own judgment. I like the idea that we ask him about this story too, see how he reacts. If he gets 'onery, well then I'll let Harold have what's left of him when I'm done." The small, dark-haired thief throws the big man a wink.

Wren grins. "Well, you have to be careful who you're dealing with whenever you trust us underworldly types. If he's got enough folk singin' his praises, I reckon that's enough for me. I learned long ago you can't please everyone all the time." I vote we stick with this guy and move forward.

Wren shrugs. "If he's even sober enough to remember anything at all tonight, I'd be surprised. But we should avoid the nightclub anyway. Come on, let's find out what's on that device." Finishing the dance, Wren fans her face with one hand in exaggerated fashion. "Thirsty work! Buy me a drink, fella? I need to visit the ladies' room and freshen up a bit!" Once the man is out of sight, she detours from the restroom and grabs Daisy and Harold, linking her arms into each of theirs. "Got it! Time to go! Quickly, before he comes back! Though I do hate missing out on a free drink... You owe me one, Harold." Wren votes for getting out of there!

Wren turns to the others and speaks softly. "If anyone wants to follow the well-dressed gent, we should split up now. I'm going to get that device he just handed off to our drunken friend. But I'd like someone to stay as back up." She grins at Harold and winks. "How about you and Daisy, big guy? We can pick up and finish our earlier lie." Then, once the newcomer is gone (with or without any of the others following) and their target has put away the memory device into whatever pocket he might have, Wren approaches the drunk, acting a bit tipsy herself. "Well now, my brother and his date are having such a good time... how about you and me, fella? Care for a dance?" If the drunk is willing (or even if he starts to balk, as she drags him out to the floor), Wren will use their close proximity to try to snag the device and even return his wallet to him, complete with the paper they'd taken a look at. Fair enough! Wren does her best to watch the interaction between the suit and the drunk, wondering what kind of business they might have together. Being a thief herself, she's betting it's something underhanded. But the crowd makes it difficult to keep an eye on them. Notice & Wild: 1d8 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 11d6 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 LOL! Ouch!! Thinking again that's not a fumble in the sense she couldn't use a bennie, since she didn't roll a '1' on the dice for both? If so, using a bennie now... Notice & Wild: 1d8 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 71d6 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4

@GM Yes, it's a +1 from the Thievery Edge. The way the dice roller formatted just threw it at the end, and the Wild Dice was the second roll. I was adding that +1 to whichever die roll was higher, is that correct? So in this instance, the first roll would have been a '4' (added to the Wild Die) and the reroll was a '10' (added to the Trait Die.) Hopefully I'm explaining that in a way that makes sense... Wren goes through his wallet once they've ditched the drunk and shows the slip of paper to the others. "A meeting, maybe? Or is something going to happen in ten minutes? Maybe we ought to keep an eye on that guy."

Wren enjoys a few drinks herself, as well as a few dances (with Daisy, if there are no other takers), and when the drunk fellow accosts her friend, the thief slips in to take Daisy's other arm, draping it around her own shoulder as Harold move in to do the same. "You were so right! This place is amazing! How about another drink?" She giggles into Daisy's ear as she ever so gently brushes against the stranger, picking his pocket - if there is anything to be found in there. Then she smiles at the browncoat flanking Daisy and winks. "Don't worry, I took good care of her, darling brother. I think we could BOTH do with another drink, though. We're having sooo much fun!" OK, here's what I took for my 2 Advancements: 1 Spent (Raise Spirit by 1 die type, d4 to d6); Gain Seasoned Rank; 1 Spent (Raise Stealth & Thievery by 1 each) I noticed you can only raise an attribute once for every rank, so I raised Spirit while still a Novice, that way I'll probably raise my Agility sometime during my Seasoned Rank.
