I'm a virtual noob, being in only one PbP right now (Skull & Shackles) or ever. I have never played PFS, but I would like to proffer the services of a level one bandit, if possible. Working on him now.

Sounds like with Ship's Surgeon trait, the only equipment I have is a healing kit. GM, do we start with zero weapons, armor and equipment? Just some clothes (and a healing kit for me)?

I have an All Blacks jersey (allegedly number one of a limited edition of 2000, which I doubt) from the 2003 Rugby World Cup. I'm in Iowa, USA (central time zone).

Thanks, LJ - I actually DL'd the S&S player's guide, and so I know what the traits are. I will try to add a trait bonus manually in PCgen...should be interesting.

Edit: I may have found the solution - a different dataset load...TBC lol

Not sure if I'm using PCgen correctly - the S&S traits aren't available.

You must be in Australia or Kiwi-land, eh?

Holla! Generating my character, in case we do end up in this AP after all. Thank you, DBH, for being so generous!

Does anyone use Hero Lab or recommend another character development tool? If you use Hero Lab, should I get the rulebook path, class path, add-ons? Which supplements would be most effective for S&S?

Thanks!

(This is "Varkas") - I would like to be a cleric, if that's OK with the rest of you. I'm sure it's getting tiresome with me being tentative because of my lack of experience, and so I appreciate your patience! I think a naval adventure would be awesome.

I found this http://paizo.com/people/Thiera (which is derived from this https://gist.github.com/anonymous/027b5a46b3b4c2df6f4b ). I found it helpful, as a new guy, to building my PbP online character sheet.

I can deal with any setting, but I'm sure there will be major holes in my backstory, but oh well...I'll get better at this as I learn the lore.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

Thank you for this!

I'm having a helluva time finding out if I can have a language in addition to Dwarven and Common. My INT is +1, and I have no ranks in Linguistics.

My attempt at a character concept (feel free to criticize or give pointers):

Varkas Davarum, at your service!

Varkas is a Dwarven miner from Highhelm who has set on adventure hearing the call to liberate Dammerhall. A fighter now, Varkas is young, inexperienced, and brash, but he yearns to learn the arts of combat while seeing the world. There is also vengeance driving Varkas on this journey, one steeped in pain from a tragedy that befell him and his loved ones when he was a small child. Varkas is skilled with his battleaxe and warhammer, and he also fancies himself a novice armorer. With seasoning and some luck, Varkas hopes to bring honor to himself and all fellow dwarves.

Maybe so. Are you proposing play by post? Here on paizo?

Yeah it would be Play By Post here on the Paizo forums.

What do you think the creation rules would be like, point buy or something like that?

It would definitely be point buy and you'd have 20 points to spend. Full hitpoints to start with and 200gp to spend for stuff.

If you could have patience with a new player (both Pathfinder and PbP (I assume)), I would love to join. I have RPG experience from many moons ago, but I am anxious to join a game and have some fun (and learn about the system and PbP). Thanks!

I'm not exactly the most experienced DM with the Pathfinder system but I've got plenty of patience and a can do attitude so you would be more than welcome to join. Your welcome!

Game posts would be once every two days, probably twice a week plus once in the weekend if I'm not busy. I never played the Night Below but it looks awesome!

The setting will be Golarion. I'm just looking for a place to set the starting point. Suggestions?

Cool - if it's OK I roll up a vanilla dwarf fighter (core rules?), I will.

Thank you so much for posting some guidance for me!

Hi - I'm new to Pathfinder, and I saw that a Beginner's Box game had been started for PbP a couple of months ago. I am interested in joining one if a more experienced player can guide me/us through the PbP methodology and of course GM us in the Beginner's Box dungeon or suitable alternative.

Thanks!
