My group is almost finished with Book 1, they already took out the main foe, just one more 'room' in the cavern to explore. It's pretty fun to run the game so far. spoiler:
If the GM preps it up, the book is pretty fun. One thing that they hated... all those damn spiders and ghost rats doing strength damage. I think they took over the course of the book enough damage to drop the party at least once over, and they still have one more rat to go... :-) I'll be starting them into book two this week.
Well, just finished reading the novel. I really, really enjoyed. One area I thought went by a bit faster and would have enjoyed more description and showed some of the planning. The rest was great and gives a great overall feeling of how Numeria functions/operates along with the general attitudes. Great timing releasing this with the Iron Gods AP.

I was lucky and had a bachelor party weekend, we rented a cabin out in the mountains and played a one-shot 11th level adventure. Only thing was the first night, we went out for steaks and some of the guys were adamant of stopping by a strip club for a couple hours. The thing was, I was thinking... 'damn, that's gonna eat into the adventure time, I hope we can finish this module in time before the weekend is over....'

Funny, I have peed while having an erection, and to be slightly more graphic in description, I have to push it down which make it uncomfortable and instead I'd end up leaning forward over the toilet to alleviate the pressure so I can pee, as the urine will flow. Who came up with this factoid?

Ditto, I'd definintely pick up more pawns, much easier/safer/better to transport to houses for games than minis. One guy in the group keeps getting minis for the group, but geez, my dining room has too many minis that he leaves there for storage.

Don't forget Puck!
Just saw the first two episodes on Hulu. Not too bad, it's interesting enough. Mix modern day cop drama with the supernatural stuff mainly from the Grimm's fairy tale and such along with a dash of buffy-esque elements. The Grimms are folks who have the ability to pierce the veil to recognize the supernatural folks who have infiltrated society, and task themselves to save people from the bad elements. At least one of the writers has worked on Buffy/Angel. Anybody else seen this show?

Aaaahhh... the googolplex, such memories, as an aside regarding that term, mixed with an rpg campaign and a movie. Spoiler: Oh geez, that term reminded me of back in HS, the GM was running a starwars D6 game and he had to just bring in the whole terminator stuff... T2 had came out back then, yes, we were young, he was impressionable. So we not only had Ah-nold on our side, but T-1000 as well since our foe was... the T-One Googolplex! I really, really wish I was making this up. *sigh*

Wow, ok, you've also convinced me to give this movie a try. That's what I've been hating with action films of late.
Cheese. Really, it's milk that's been sitting around with mold growing in it and you're expected to eat it? Which I do and love. Wine, beer, spirits... these you drink after it's been sitting inside a container for months at a time if not longer. Similar to cheese. Beyond most expiration dates of other stuff.
Not sure if anyone else has posted this... So apparently they've revived the Looney Tunes stuff for Cartoon Network. One of the things they've done is a short with Daffy Duck imagining himself as a wizard all the while power metal is playing. I just saw this on youtube today, is this really something from looney tunes? dang. edit: yeah, he even has a business card. Daffy Duck, Wizard. Ok, now I'm rethinking about getting cable again... nah.

Daughter, and all police, many are earthbenders who have spools of metal wire on their back so they can use it to capture suspects and also move around similar to batman/spiderman. That's the impression the creators gave in their talks.

To answer your spoiler... Spoiler:
It's been listed in some of the Avatar games and such, at least one airbender managed to survive the assault on the air temples and lived out her days in exile/striking fire nation folks from the mountains... basically like a ghost or somesuch. I remember reading that on one of the wikias of characters and she was listed due to being in some nickelodeon stuff. Of course, not in the series, but... that's the only way to explain something like that. Oh yeah and...
Spoiler: Explosive Runes!
I have no problems with it, especially when it allows for a gamer's spouse to be happy enough to let said gamer to keep gaming with us. I'd rather that than having the spouse unhappy, since when the spouse is unhappy, the gamer is unhappy and it just goes trickling down to the rest of the group... if the gamer can game with us at all. If it's incessant texting in which the person fails to keep up with what's going on, better to have the game take five while the person goes and talk on the phone with the significant other. The game is a hobby and should be a fun environment, so I'd rather have it remain so then gaming in such a serious evironment since it's supposed to be an escape from everyday work. Everyone is an adult (well in my group it is) and with that, and everyone should act accordingly and also to not act like a parent/boss to each other. Thinking back to the old days before cell phones, there would instead be a telephone call in which the host of the game site would then have to answer and then hand it off to the gamer. Sure, one could maybe instead let the answering machine pick it up, but if the call was ignored... edit: I do agree though that it's a lot less annoying if the cell phones are put on vibrate or something instead for the texts. One thing I do sometimes is turning off my phone with periodic breaks to check for messages and such.

Nope, I like it. In a world where magic permeates through the lands, people in robes bending the laws of reality to their whim, raging barbarians channeling totems, clerics and paladins having the divine powers course into their bodies from their gods, and singing bards able to even make a their music become a solid tangible note (re: that spell...), and folks running faster than a horse or falling a hundred feet with no damage and able to channel elements into their fist. No, the fact that a magic user can use the magical powers imbued in the parchment to be used as a weapon is not that silly in my view.
Sub-Creator wrote: As to the high-level threat, I'll argue that, as well. Looking at the Bestiary, a young black is CR 7, a young white CR 6. Either of these could be encountered without problem by the end of the second book. But, you don't even have to go that route if facing off against such a young dragon might seem "uninspiring." Just because the AP is specifically dragon-based, doesn't mean we can't look to other draconic enemies at earlier levels, such as drakes, just as an example. The point is that there are many avenues that could be explored in such an AP, and the mythological sources that could be used both from our world (which Paizo loves to do) and from Golarion would easily make for a truly exciting and fresh take on the theme! Heh, I remember a previous campaign, the party fights and kills off a bunch of trolls followed by several baby black dragons that emerged from the river... We stood proudly over their remains, and then found all this treasure nearby, the slow realization/dread sunk in that momma dragon is gonna be unhappy... There was an entire session of us eluding her, riding hard through the trees, doubling back along the roads, constantly scanning the skies for her dark shadow, huddling in the campsite at night and hoping the tiny hut will conceal us... We later found she had destroyed our manor. Then again, later on, we did do a sending to taunt her. Basically she became a looming threat in the background of the campaign, too bad we never finished this campaign. :-(

I recommend the Fisher and Hawke series, it's really enjoyable, better than the other stuff by Simon Green. I just really couldn't get into the Nightside series. Other books in the same world as Fisher and Hawke are the Forest Kingdom Series which are Blue Moon Rising, Blood and Honour, Down Among the Dead Men, and Beyond the Blue Moon (this one does tie that Hawke and Fisher are the same characters as in Blue Moon Rising...)

That's my interpretation also. The creature is now covered in dust... check, like say covered in ink. So no more bonus to invisibility. Now for the second part, the creature is now glittering... so yeah, I'd it hit it with now a -40 to hiding since the creature is now sorta like a disco ball.

Borderlands is fun with some multiplayer aspects, up to four people who mostly cooperate in the story game. The plot/etc is sorta on the weak side at times, but hey, it's fun blasting away levels. Borderlands 2 has been announced for next year or so also.
