Happened to think about this game recently and wondered what had happened to it. Guess we just kind of sputtered out huh.

Villar was caught completely off guard by the sudden attack as the creatures tore into him and nearly ripped him to shreds. He lost conciousness from the flurry of strikes and lie bleeding out on the floor until Futin healed him. Villar regained conciousness and scooted back through his companions as best he could. There was no way he could stand up to the wights right now, he felt like he could barely even stand up. Once he was back out of theway Villar just sat there without trying to stand as he tried to figure out what just hit him.
Villar looked at all of the various crests ont eh wall and the bodies laid out. He also noted how two of the bodies were conspicuously absent. He pointed at where the missing bodies should have been and said, "Well crap." With a sigh Villar said, "We should check for any clues as to what is going on before we continue on." Perception:
I moved myself to where I was talking about. We still had to southern passages, one of which seems to connect to the placed we came through, and then what look to be doors at the west end of the entrance.
Villar couldn't see the end of the tunnel and Futin gettign so close wasn't helping matters any. "I can't see the end of this so it must go on for quite a distance." Villar stepped back and gestured for Futin to do so as well. "We have two option," he said, "First we can go ahead down the tunnel. We have not finished exploring this level though and it might be helpful to do so in case there are any clues about what they are doing down here."
Ummm, I can or can't see an end? You said I don't in the gameplay but I do just now.
I had assumed that it was 30 ft like in 1st ed. I only just noticed myself when I was working on figuring my post out. This could be one really long tunnel.
So I just noticed that Darkvision does not seem to have a range limit anymore. It appears that it is just as far as you would see if it was daytime but black and white only. Am I correct in this? If so how far do I actually see?
Before he opened the closet door Villar said, "He can come if he wants," in response to Alak's words. He may not like the guy but he didn't have to when it came to working with someone if they proved they could be trusted and, so far, Alack had done exactly that. He held up the "paperweight" he had found and said, "I found this too but I don't know what it is." Villar opened the door and looked into the closet and saw it was filled with various items and, far more importantly, there was a tunnel at the back with footprints in the dirt. "I have something here. A tunnel with footprints. I'll lead the way when we're ready."
Villar found a bunch of pieces of paper and realized quickly that they were a stack of scrolls. They wouldn't do him much god but he figured Futin at least should be able to use them. He gave them to the felinoid when he came over and said, "Put them to good use," and continued his inspection. If he had an opinion on Alak taking the ring Villar kept it to himself. His natural dislike of all hellknights on general principles biased him but Alak had been pulling his own weight so he figured the man had earned it. He'd let the others figure that out as he examined the door to see about moving deeper intot the area.
It's a classic. He is referencing the movie Feris Buhler's Day Off.
Villar entered the room cautiously and looked at the lockboxes. "It looks like someone has already gone through all of these. It won't hurt to look through the room in case they missed something." He began to look through the room, checking the boxes and the walls until her eventually found a door way.

With the fight done Villar began to remove the nails stuck in him. The damned things hurt but he managed to get it done while the others were checking out the area. When they were finished Villar had removed the last of them and looked around at where they should go. "There is a door down this way I think. Let's see what is through here first." He made sure his rapier was at the ready, just in case, as he examined the door for traps and to see if it was locked as had become his routine. Secret:
Despite the table between him and the last enemy Villar was not about to let the fight end without one more strike. He studied his enemy and then lashed out with a well timed strike despite his continuing loss of blood. ◆ devise a strat on blue
Sorry for the delay. It was a busy weekend with my nephews visiting.
Villar quickly moved in despite the pain to try and get a strike on the sadistic bastards, whatever they were. He studied his target as he flanked it and then stabbed at it with his rapier. ◆ move
Villar was caught almost totally off guard when one of the shadowy things slipped his gaze and opened fire on him. Fortunately it only got one good shot at him before he could react, unfortunately that one good shot connected.
With the introductions seemingly over Villar went through the door to the south and began to examine the area down there.
Villar considered the bracers when Talina suggested he might get the most use out of them and reached out to take them. "I can certainly try them," he nodded politely to Talina, "thanks," Once he had the bracers he turned and shifted his cloak back a bit before he pulled up his left sleeve and took off the glove. He put the bracer in place, shielding the sight of himself from the others, and put his glove back on before pulling his sleeve down. Then he repeated the process with the right arm. Once everything was in place Villar turned around and looked to where Ahri was still struggling with the sarcophagus and considered what she was doing. He thought she had the right idea and said, "Mind if I try miss?"
Vill took out his own thieves tools and set to work on the sarcophagus. He studied the mechanism for a moment and decided that there might be something to help them figure out what was going on her, it was a lead worth pursuing.
AFter a quick mental count Vilalr said, "Oh, looks like my count was off, only the ones we just destroyed had risen. The rest are still in their crypts."
Villar noted the various things he spotted and said, "These were all opened from the inside. Looks like somebody or something made them all rise." His head lifted and shifted around as she looked for more undead but seeing none said, "The question is where did they go?" He began to look over the remains of the undead knight and he noticed something interesting on the halberd. "I've got something here. Looks like there's a rune on this halberd. Anyone able to determine what it does?"
Villar was looking for the next door moving a short distance down the passageway to the east checking it for traps as he went and shook his head when he had a moment, "I guess you could say it is what I am doing here. It was my business back before and during the uprising in Kintargo." He moved far enough down to see that there was a door at the end and said, "I found another door down this way. Di we go to it or backtrack tot eh main hall and the last of those side passages? I think there is a section through that opening to the south as well."
Villar reproduced the card to hand to Ahri and shook her hand.
Villar withdrew the hand that was not taken and tucked the card away. He wasn't always accepted by others but he figured a halfling would not have spurned his offered hand. He didn't take offense, or at least not much, and instead drifted over to the path ahead and looked to see what was through the next door after checking it for traps.
With the fighting over Villar turned his gaze on the newcomer. He'd noticed her entry into the fray and she did help them. He may be from Chelliax but he had no particular problem with halflings, maybe that was because he was a tiefling, who knows? "The little miss did do some damage to the armored one, a rather good shot too," he said in his quiet voice, "most of her other shots missed but at least may have distracted the thing." His gaze, or at least it seemed his gaze, turned to Ahri and he said, "I have to admit that you being here isn't the best reason to trust you. You could be one of those we are after trying to get in close to us and stab us in the back." Villar hesitated a moment and then he began to move around her, and watching her reaction, "Of course it does help your story that we've dealt with all the nasties to this point so a lone halfling could sneak in on us in relative safety." After a second more of standing there with his rapier in hand Villar deftly sheathed it and pulled out one of his business cards which read Vilalr Shadowsun, Umbral Investigations. "Villar," he held out his gloved hand.
Villar quickly moved past Cicero and studied his target as he went. Once he was in place he stabbed out with his rapier whilst the thing was distracted by Talina. ◆ Stride
Villar realized what was happening a moment too late to call anything out before the skeletons attacked them. He wasted no time in getting into the fight though as he drew his rapier and moved around Cicero to attack the skeleton that had clawed at him. ◆ interact (draw weapon)

Villar nodded, "Yeah, let sleeping dead lie." Rather than cut through the room Villar went back the way they came and to the middle passage on the south side and went down it to the door. There he did his usual thing and checked to see if the door was trapped, locked, and to undo those conditions. Secret Check (Perception) for traps:

Nodding in agreement Villar led the way back in the direction they'd come to the entry area and then went down the southwest passage to the door at the end, checking it as he always did.
I admit I don't mind doubling up on trapfinding ability. It isn't going to hurt having a second set of eyes in case one of us flubs it up.
Maybe the Mighty Dragons are a local team, or... He shakes his head. Nah...probably not.
"That sounds odd Furball, what could be through this door?" He waslked down teh hallway and checked the door at teh end to see if it was safe and if it was carefully opened it to peak inside.
While there would be some overlap between Vill and Ahri I don't see it as a problem. I think I would ranking would match Futin's. Ahri Choi well fleshed out and seems the most intriguing
From the sounds on the other side of the door Villar couldn't help but agree and said, "Yeah, let's leave it be, I have no desire to fight whatever that is." Since they had finished with this area Villar led the way back towards the entrance and down to the southwest corridor to explore it.
I'll take a look after work today.
Villar looked into the room with the bog like puddle int eh middle and shuddered as he remembered what happened with the last puddle of water. He stepped back and closed the door before saying, "I think we should;d go check the door at the end of the hallway next to this room." With that he headed out the way they came to the previous hallway and went north to the door.
Villar still hurt as they returned to camp but at least he was still mobile. That could have ended very badly for him and he was glad things turned out otherwise. He could sympathize with Talina's concern though he was more worried about how hard everything hit. Ultimately there was little he could think of to do so he instead rested as Futin worked on healing everyone up enough to go back in again.
I agree, the wizard I think would be of the most help given our current group.
Villar felt the blow that dropped him but the agony went away as he went unconcious. When the fighting was over and he woke up Villar groaned and said, "Thanks furball," he said in a joking tone. Villar picked himself up and looked around as he said, "I agree with pulling back for now." He picked up his rapier, wincing slightly, and sheathed it. "Is it just me," he asked, "or does anyone else things used to be easier back even a year or two ago for adventurers in the stories?"
IMO normally a month is plenty of time but given the way things are in the world right now I'm willing to stretch that out a lot. With how hard COVID (not saying that's what's going on here) can hit people I they get they could easily be incommunicado for months without warning so some additional leeway seems in order. Besides, we don't seem to be at a great spot to add a new player just now anyway so I think that should be our guidelline.

With one of the monkey's still near him Villar studied his target's movement to time his strike to the best of his ability before stabbing out twice in rapid succession. ◆ Devise a Strat
Villar adjust his position to flank one of the monkey things as he devised his strategy. Once he was ready he struck fast.
