![]() Hi folks. Wanted to jump in and say that I don't think I can commit to this. This game just moves too fast for me to keep up. That's fantastic for you guys, and I'm pretty envious of the rate the game moves at. I just don't have enough time right now and don't want to slow the game down. Have fun folks. Sorry I can't join you. ![]()
![]() Doomed Hero here, and very interested. I play the Master in Grey in the Runelords game, so you have a pretty good idea of my dependability and writing ability. This character was originally developed for another game, but he seems like a perfect fit for this one. Captain Drake is a military wizard with a knack for siege tactics and anticipating the movements of an enemy force. He's the guy they send into difficult situations to buy time. He has a snarky Pseudodragon familiar named Ruby and a Lieutenant that is a Simulacrum of himself. I need to bring him up to 20 point buy and go over his equipment again, and rewrite his backstory to suit this game, but other than that he's ready. ![]()
![]() The Venture Captain did not look like he was in a good mood. He sat at a table with a plate of food that had long since cooled and a nearly empty decanter of wine. Paperwork was spread all over the table. In the middle of it all was a map with colored dots noting events that had happened in the area. He didn't look up when he was addressed. "I am Drake. This is about as private as I have time for right now. What do you need?" ![]()
![]() A series of whispers echo in the ears of the group. "Likewise, Mr. Goldsmith. I appreciate your willingness to aid in this endeavor." "Haven. I'll look into it." "As for lockpicks, such things are expensive and difficult to procure. It may take me some time and you may have to foot the bill. I'm afraid my expense budget is not substantial enough to subsidize personal expenses of that nature." ![]()
![]() All of you can hear him and respond. Message is basically the magic version of a conference call. "The loss of the Shoanti is unfortunate, but within expected operational projections. This mission is still go. I will check in with you every night. I have negotiated with my superiors for expeditionary expenses that will allow me to resupply you if there is need. I have access to most mundane equipment. Any out of the ordinary requests may take some time to procure, so do try to plan ahead, particularly for anything large. Keep in mind that these funds are far from limitless, and are directly connected to any potential bonus you may receive upon completion. Ruby has copies of the contract each of you signed. Please have your new arrival sign one if he is going to continue working with you." "Is there anything you require from me at this time?" Basically, Drake can provide you with normal equipment if you give him advance notice. Cheap stuff he can probably just give you. More expensive stuff you'll have to pay for yourself, but he can bring to you and take cash on arrival. ![]()
![]() Before Ruby can finish her drawing, the voice of Captain Drake sounds in everyone's ears, as though he's standing right next to them. "This is Drake. It seems you have lost the Shoanti and picked up a priest. Report, please." Drake is locking onto the Scrysphere, scrying and using Message to make contact with everyone. ![]()
![]() Ah, Mr. Verneriah. Punctual as ever, I see." Drake says with a tone somewhere between amusement and exasperation. "This is the team you will be accompanying." "Mr. Verneriah has worked for me in this capacity before. I am sure you will all find him as capable as I have." "Without a known focus Scrying is quite difficult. When your group reaches the abandoned village I will be able to investigate further, but at the moment I know little more than you do." ![]()
![]() Vuvu wrote: He looks at Draxas's hands counting fingers All fingers present and accounted for. It could be other parts of the body though. Toes maybe? "Mr. Foresend missed his first communication with me one week ago. It is not uncommon for an agent to occasionally miss reporting in if they are occupied at the agreed upon time. After the second missed communication I set the plan for this search in motion." ![]()

![]() Captain Drake set a small onyx sphere on the the table, roughly the size of a small apple. Arcane runes were etched into it's surface and it was smoothed and polished to a mirror shine. "Ruby will be accompanying you, yes. As will this sphere. It will allow me to contact you and keep tabs on your location. I will check in with you once a day in the evening for a report. Should you uncover information that you cannot make sense of, pass it to me. I may be able to make sense out of things that you cannot. Should you come to an impasse in your investigations I will do what I can to set you in the right direction again." "Here is all the information we already have on Mr. Foresend and his expedition." Drake slid a scroll case across the table to join the small sphere. "You may leave at your convenience. Good luck." Your turn GM. I figure the information scroll can give them a push in the direction of the adventure. ![]()
![]() The Venure captain eyes the little red dragon with a flat expression. Some sort of silent communication seems to pass between them and Captain Drake sighs and begins collecting the signed contracts. Nodding to the halfling, he said "I have no interest in anything unspecified in the contract. As for the missing mr. Foresend, if he is alive when you find him, I expect him to be alive when he is returned." He gave the halfling a terse handshake and eyed the dwarf and human's interaction. "Once you are done getting to know each other, there are a few additional details we need to discuss." ![]()

![]() When the chosen followed, they saw that the balcony had been cleared. A table with two pitchers of ale and a collection of mugs sat ready. A man in a red jacket entered the room. "Greetings. My name is Daxus Drake. I am the Pathfinder Venture-Captain of this province." He produced a scroll case and removed a stack of contracts and a map from it, placing them on the table. "I have a missing archeologist and an unfinished collection and survey mission. I am willing to offer each of you one hundred gold sovereigns for the completion of this task. Please look over the contract and sign if the terms are agreeable." |
