Actually the buckler is strapped to your arm and not held meaning your off hand is free, making slashing grace still usable. That fact is often overlooked. Hence why buckles are pretty much useless unless you utilize them with a benefit that needs your off hand free. The trade off is you can't shield bash with them and you loose the bonus if you use your off hand to attack. Wether that be with a weapon or two handing something. Their was a build I did a while back with a dwarf that had a living steel buckler and used a Dwarven long axe. He had fortified armor training. He never used the buckler for AC and always took the -1 to his attacks, because he could break it and not his armor, ignore a crit and it would be usable the next day because it would heal 1 and no longer be broken. Never did suffer a crit problem again :)

At the sight of the eldritch monsters Veil prepares for combat. Cutting his conversation to an abrubt end.

Combat:
Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

The beast we simply too fast for Veil's reaction time and both take swings at him after their maneuvering.

Round One

After getting hit he was not in very good shape, but his will to live pressed him forward.

He will draw a scroll from his belt and with a a twist of his wrist, the paper juts out into a spike like protrusion. It then begins to glow a blueish hue as magical energy pours into it. He attacks the one that charged at him.

Arcane Strike Scroll Blade: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

He will then 5 foot step up next to the one that went for the flank.

Round Two

The one that charged and took damage moves to gain flanking. Though Veil swipes at him as he moves.

Arcane Strike Scroll Blade AoO: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

His attack pierces the head of the creature and his scroll blade dissolves out of his hand to dust. The creature falls to the strike.

The creature that is next to him lashes out with a full attack in retaliation. Hitting him twice.
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

He shakes of a horrid feeling as he takes a five foot step away from the creature and extends his hand, palm out.

Suddenly a swirl of green energy forms around his hand along with the similar blue color and a short spear shoots forth from his outstretched hand.

Arcane Strike Splinter Spear: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

The short spear pierces the creature in the side and shatters causing the creatures blood to spill upon the floor. It staggers for a moment but then collapses in a pile.

He will look around upon the folowing round and sing Ragnar the Red again, granting Inspire Courage to everyone.

Atamar left before a word could escape Veils lips. "Quite the casanova that one." Veil will summarize and point with a lazy thumb to anyone that was paying attention.

With a sudden realization Veil would head over to Alystar quickly. Um... *cough* I forgot to give you this... A weak smile adorns Veils face as he slides the letter of recommendation over to him.

Veil will then walk to Jamahzin.

In a more high pitched version of Draconic:

"Hello dragonfriend."

@ Veronica d'Ambrosia

Your alignment seems more of a lawful evil than a chaotic evil. as most "evil" characters in Game of Thrones are more lawful evil. the Mountain is neutral evil, otherwise he never would have become a knight. Ramsy would be the only one i would consider chaotic evil even then he still bows to authority. Raygar has been talked about as being chaotic evil... at the very end anyway... im not here to start an alignment war just stating what ive read and interpreted. She seems awesome though so i cant wait to see her in action!

Veil looked over his scrolls carefully at the bar as the jeers came from others at his somber song.

"Fine you wish for me to sing a hearty tail! Gird your loins!"

Preform: Sing: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Ragnar the Red:

Oh, there once was a hero named Ragnar the Red
Who came riding to Whiterun from ole Rorikstead

And the braggart did swagger and brandish his blade
As he told of bold battles and gold he had made

But then he went quiet, did Ragnar the Red
When he met the shield-maiden Matilda, who said;

"Oh, you talk and you lie and you drink all our mead
Now I think it's high time that you lie down and bleed!"

And so then came clashing and slashing of steel
As the brave lass Matilda charged in, full of zeal

And the braggart named Ragnar was boastful no more-
When his ugly red head rolled around on the floor!

Veil turns to the patrons at the bar, a sudden flare of blue in his eyes.

"How bout a song everyone?!" Veil shouts to the room. Though he only took a few moments before beginning, his eyes fell upon nothing in particular as if gazing at a distant memory.

Veils' Song:

Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away ere break of day
To seek the pale enchanted gold.

The dwarves of yore made mighty spells,
While hammers fell like ringing bells
In places deep, where dark things sleep,
In hollow halls beneath the fells.

For ancient king and elvish lord
There many a gleaming golden hoard
They shaped and wrought, and light they caught
To hide in gems on hilt of sword.

On silver necklaces they strung
The flowering stars, on crowns they hung
The dragon-fire, in twisted wire
They meshed the light of moon and sun.

Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away, ere break of day,
To claim our long-forgotten gold.

Goblets they carved there for themselves
And harps of gold; where no man delves
There lay they long, and many a song
Was sung unheard by men or elves.

The pines were roaring on the height,
The winds were moaning in the night.
The fire was red, it flaming spread;
The trees like torches blazed with light.

The bells were ringing in the dale
And men they looked up with faces pale;
The dragon’s ire more fierce than fire
Laid low their towers and houses frail.

The mountain smoked beneath the moon;
The dwarves they heard the tramp of doom.
They fled their hall to dying fall
Beneath his feet, beneath the moon.

Far over the misty mountains grim
To dungeons deep and caverns dim
We must away, ere break of day,
To win our harps and gold from him!

When the song is concluded Veil will bow to the patrons and take a seat at the bar.

Veil walks into the Randy Sasquatch. He has a rather ornate an masterfully crafted bow slung over his chest and back. His fine clothes seem very clean even for a normal outing. His slicked back brown hair stays unmoving as he makes his way to Lord Alystair. Anybody who is anybody knows what he looks like. He bows upon getting within talking distance.

"My lord, it is a great honor to make your acquaintance. My name is Veil Silverthistle. You may have even heard of me already. I am a bard you see, my voice carries and as such, so should my name. But enough of my rambling. How are you this fine day?"

Veil kindly keeps eye contact with the lord. His dull blue eyes seemed to grow brighter with each passing moment.

Familiars typing changes from animal to magical beast. But horses are terrified of you lol
