Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Dang. But fair enough. Thanks for all your efforts GM.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

With his foe slain, Ulan moves to the other side of the fireplace.
Ulan move behind Breggel.
He puts away his warhammer as he moves.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Yes... Ulan's feeling a bit guilty about it himself. He will (try) to heal any fallen foes and prevent their deaths once combat is over. The crit was a complete accident. That being said, Ulan is a cleric of Torag. Have you seen some of the tenets that a Paladin of Torag is expected to follow?

Faiths of Purity, page 27 wrote:

Mercy is not high up on the list of priorities for followers of Torag.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

My bad. Warhammers are x3 crit weapons.
Extra Warhammer damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
The poor sap takes 21 damage.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Ulan quickly grips his warhammer and assails the closest enemy. (Move east 10ft then north until diagonally adjacent to nearest foe)
Masterwork warhammer: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Neat. A threat!
Masterwork warhammer: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Holy crap!
Masterwork warhammer critical damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (8, 4) + 4 = 16
Ulan smashes the man with a tremendous blow from his warhammer.
"Surrender now in the name of Daggermark and we will will spare you more of Torag's wrath!"
Damn. Breggel sure knows how to forge a fine warhammer.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

init: 1d20 ⇒ 14

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Not so. Now we have them at a disadvantage and have effectively reversed the ambush. Ulan would prefer not to kill them all of course, but information would be useful. Simply passing them by would be a waste of a good opportunity.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Ulan also positions himself in a strategic location. He knew only too well that he was not fast enough to pursue a fleeing human, so he understood the importance of location.
I presume we're waiting for GM to prepare combat (battlegrid?).

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

I'll assume that Ulan's trip to the Temple was fruitless.
Ulan moves up in front of Mike to give him some protection. (If possible, aid other on Mike for +2AC).
Ulan stays silent for the time being though. He knew his modest social skills would likely do more harm than good.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Ulan smiles and bows politely, turning to leave the meeting. As soon as they leave the room his smile changes to a scowl.
"Brother, call me paranoid if you will but I have an unpleasant feeling about this situation."
He says to Breggel once well out of earshot of anyone not part of their group.
"Too much information is assumed for my liking. I fear this situation might become... complicated. At least the temple has been a source of information."
He strokes his bearded chin, deep in thought. He then turns to his companions.
"Save me a horse, I need to check something real quick."
Ulan departs.

I'd like Ulan to head to the Temple of Erastil. He knows Brother Silas and would like to ask him if he's used divination to uncover information about the kidnapping and (ideally) what the results were. Of course, with time being a pressing issue, Ulan will leave immediately if Brother Silas is unavailable, too busy or sworn to secrecy.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Ulan scratches his chin, thoughtfully contemplating the request. It occurs to him that Bronwyn might have departed willingly with Baron Agwain. He replies with politeness.
"It would be an honour to lend you my aid, my lord." Ulan speaks slowly. The last thing he wanted to do was accidentally insult the Duke.
"I assume we are to also return your sister to Daggermark. But I must ask, what are your orders if Bronwyn proves unwilling to return? There is a possibility, though highly unlikely, that she may not have departed unwillingly."

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Absolutely. I'm ready to go!

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

LOL!! My mistake. I meant ULAN goes to buy the scrolls. XD

"Brother, it's the finest weapon I could hope for. When we return from our next task I will make you an armour worthy of you.
After clasping arms in the dwarven fashion Ulan puts the warhammer away.
"If you need it brother, just ask."
He says with a grin.

Ulan also buys some trail rations.
@GM By the way, for future reference is there any special materials available in Daggermark (adamantium, mithral, cold iron, etc).

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Unless someone asks specifically, Ulan is done with crafting for now once he helps Breggel forge his weapon.
Pleased with his efforts, Breggel purchases two scrolls of cure light wounds. With the loss of Drelsh, Ulan realised it fell mainly on him to restore his allies to health when necessary.

After that bit of shopping, he heads back to the Happy Cow to do some drinking with the locals. He also visits his father for advice* and meets the Erastil priest once or twice when he can.

*Next level Ulan gets Craft Magic Arms & Armor feat and I'm hoping to give him a boost to his crafting via the 'Extra Trait' feat. I figure talking to the Tokadar elder makes in-game sense.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

The dwarf opens his mouth to argue but stops himself.
"Aye, more than a fair price."
He shakes Bryn's hand roughly and accepts the bag of coins.
"But you ain't taking advantage, lad. When combat breaks out its you and my brother who takes the blows and swings the swords. So thanks."

As he walks away, Ulan begins to laugh to himself.
If my father saw me now he'd belt me around the ears and order me to put a mark up on the next armour set.

lol, thanks Breggel, although to be fair I'd rather you get a masterwork weapon first since you'll be the one in the front lines. Beside, Ulan can Runeforge himself a temporary masterwork weapon in combat if he needs one.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Heh, I work better in the late evening myself (midnight atm). What did you mean by us both a MW warhammer? My working was only for one masterwork warhammer.
It will take another 38 days to make a second one.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Hmm, I think we can work the rules to make that warhammer in much less time. Firstly, doesn't Breggel has +11 to craft (+9 normally then +2 for masterwork artisans tools)? Secondly, Ulan will gladly cast Crafter's Fortune on Breggel every day as well, that's no problem. Finally, for the warhammer itself (but not the masterwork, sadly), increasing the DC by 10 (as per Core rules p. 93) will reduce the crafting time a fair bit.

Maths Galore!:
Cost first: (1/3 of masterwork and 1/3 of item) = 104gp crafting price. If necessary, Ulan can lend some gold.

Crafting DC for the warhammer is 15. Increase by 10 = DC 25.
Breggel's craft skill is +16 (+11 base then +5 for Crafter's Fortune) for a 'take 10' check of 26.
25 x 26 = 650sp progress per week, or 65gp.
65gp / 7days = 9.29gp progress per day.
The warhammer will be made in 2 days.

The masterwork is far more difficult. No +10 to the DC I'm afraid. :/
So, DC 20.
Skill check = 26 x 20 = 520sp progress per week, or 52gp.
52gp/7 = 7.43 gp progress per day.
300gp / 7.43 = 40.384 days

So, that's 41 days of crafting and 104gp if Ulan does not make assist rolls. I'll try to work out how much time will will cut down if Ulan DOES assist but, honestly, it won't be a huge amount.

EDIT: Okay, after Ulan's finished with his armour his assist rolls I work out his additioanl help will take off 2 days of crafting. So...
104gp cost.
39 days.

That's the best I can manage.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Ulan initially refuses the extra gold but Bryn continues to insist.
"Fine... If you want to make this a business transaction."
He mutters, carefully hiding his appreciation from Bryn.
"Two weeks. Maybe less."

Firstly, Ulan purchases a masterwork artisan tools (probably from his father). With that done, he returns to the shop and begins to heat up the forge. Before he actually starts work Ulan pays homage to Torag at his shrine, requesting as always that his deity blesses his work.

Days pass as the dwarf hammers the steel and painstakingly joins the rings. Despite his aches, he enjoyed the flying sparks and the sound of steel striking steel.

Math stuff:
Chainshirt Craft DC to make: DC 24. [Normally DC14 but voluntarily increase DC by 10]. Ulan's craft(armor) check: 28 (+13 skill bonus, +5 for Crafter's Fortune (cast daily) +10 [take 10]).
[check x DC] 28 x 24 = 67.2gp progress per week
Time Required: 11 days.
Cost: 33 gp 3sp

After 11 days, Ulan's work is done. He smiles proudly at his craft for a few minutes before seeking out Bryn. Upon finding him he quickly regains his sombre composure.
"Got your armour here lad. 50 gold pieces sound fair?"

I'm assuming you're only after a standard chainshirt but alternatively Ulan could make a masterwork chainshirt but it will take a month in total and an extra 50gp cost.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Yes, I was wondering if we have 'time off' from our militia service. If so, how much time? If possible, I wouldn't mind doing a bit more crafting if time permits. Of course, I'm especially interested in the old map and am eager to head off in search of the place.
After thanking his father for his help, Ulan makes every effort to track down their other companions and inform them of the information gathered regarding the map and old Illefarn.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Ulan smiles as Mike enters.
"Welcome friend. We were looking over the map we were given a few weeks ago. Since you're here, do you fancy taking another look? I hear you wizardly types have a knack for old texts and such."

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Gold recorded! I'm assuming we have some downtime. Once we report in, do we know what will happens to our lizardfolk captive?

Ulan ponders over the Old Map given to them earlier. He studies it carefully, now that he has had a chance to educate himself further.

Knowledge(Engineering): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Knowledge(Religion): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Knowledge(History): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

After gathering what details he can about it, he heads to his father's workshop to ask the old dwarf what he can determine about it. Ulan invites Breggel along of course.

Basically, it's your call Breggel. Either take 6hp or roll the dice.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Ulan doesn't need any of the above gear. He'll take the roll for the hp...
hp: 1d8 ⇒ 6 Phew, not bad.

2nd Level in Cleric(Forgemaster)
+8hp
+1 Will, +1 Fort
+1 BAB
Spells: 0 - Read Magic; 1st - Magic Weapon
Skills:
Craft(Armor) +1
Knowledge(Engineering) +1
Knowledge(History) +1
Knowledge(Religion) +1

Runeforger: Durability (ARG p.15)
Adding 30gp to gold total.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Hearing Mike's request about valuing the gem, Ulan sighs.
"We're blacksmiths, not jewelers, I have no experience with gems. I suppose I can try though."
He takes the amethyst and studies it as carefully as he can.
Appraise(untrained): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
"Not sure." He says with a shrug, passing the gem back to Mike.
(Ulan doesn't even have 'Greed' racial trait. I replaced that with 'Craftsman')

Ulan ignores Mike's comments regarding burning, letting Breggel speak his opinion for him. Ulan managed to smile and nod politely at the other lizardfolk tribe as they directed the group.
Need to make sure the citizens of Daggermark know which tribe is our enemy and which is not.

Finally at the house, Ulan requests that their captive is put into a shed or barn for safekeeping. He makes it abundantly clear that the captive is to be left alone and the consequences for disobeying the Daggermark militia. Assuming this is possible, Ulan ties the captive to a post, using the spell Animate Rope to ensure the bonds are strong. He is still gagged also.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

"Someone in town must be able to speak reptile."
Ulan replies, still prodding the lizardfolk forward.
"We'll get this creature to explain its actions and perhaps tell us where its tribe is holed up. I'm hoping we can work out some sort of non-aggression treaty with its tribe, but justice will be meted out if all else fails."
Ulan grits his teeth as a thought dawns on him.
"I'm thinking once we get back we'll have to make sure the villagers don't try to mob lynch it."

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

"Not a bad find there, Bryn. Aye, time to head back. It would be foolish to keep marching through the marsh hoping to find more of these creatures. We'll be ambushed at every turn."
Ulan states grimmly. Once the group is ready he helps hoist the lizardfolk (who is now tied up and gagged) onto its feet.
"Start walkin'... And don't try anything."
Ulan snarls at the creature. He points his warhammer at its face and then uses it to indicate the path ahead.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Ulan smiles at Breggel.
"Aye. Not a problem. Alas, I've used up almost all of Torag's blessings for the day. 'Fraid I won't be of much help as a healer until dawn."

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Ulan draws some rope and marches over to the lizardfolk as he begins to awaken. While the creature is virtually defenseless, Ulan ties it up.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Damn, the dice really hate Breggel
Ulan watches his brother get hammered with horror. He makes a quick prayer to Torag and heals his brother again.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Breggel is restored to 6hp.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

I think Mike already acted for this round (casting true strike). If I'm right, then it's Lizardfolk turn.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Ulan backs off slightly, giving himself some space between him and the lizardfolk on the rock. Now in a better position, he tries to heal Breggel of his wounds (5ft step to G12)
Cure Light Wounds (spontaneously casting, dropping Lead Blades): 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Of course.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

It's the lizardfolk's turn isn't it?

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Shocked at seeing the lizardfolk wound his brother, Ulan rushes up as fast as he can behind Breggel, in preparation to heal his injuries.
Ulan double-moves to H12.
(Sorry, too far away to heal at the moment.)

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

We're in a surprise round right now, which means we can only spend a standard or move action, not both. Readying an action is a standard action so you can't do anything else (aside from free actions such as a 5ft step). Alternatively, you could simply move and nothing else (aside from free actions, such as draw a weapon).

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Ulan puts his hand on his brother's shoulder and mutters a simple incantation.
Ulan casts Guidance on Breggel. (+1 to his next attack, save or skill check)

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Ulan follows his brother's example, cautiously watching the edges of the path. He did not entirely trust the lizardfolks.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Ref save/dmg: 1d20 ⇒ 111d4 ⇒ 2
Ulan does not have his weapon drawn when he sees the lizardfolk. Although eager to avenge the fallen, he restrains himself.
"Aye, I think you may be right Mike. There's a lot of 'em too. Someone try talking."

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Bryn, I think you may have missed. Because the giant frog was in combat with Breggel, ranged attacks suffer a -4 penalty to hit (unless you had the precise shot feat)
By chance does Ulan get an Attack of Opportunity from the frog after it swallows Drelsh and moves away?

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Ah, I see. I got a little confused about sources. Anyway, I'll have my action now.
Seeing Drelsh move up to one of the giant frogs, Ulan rushes up to aid him.
Ulan double moves next to Drelsh, drawing his warhammer as he does so. Ulan is now adjacent to a giant frog.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/weapons
Dorn Derger (two handed exotic weapon)

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Not sure if it matters but I found Dorn Dergar on this page on the exotic, two-handed weapon chart.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Ulan frowns, sensing aggression from the amphibians.

He calmly turns around and traces dwarven runes on Bryn's weapon. The markings glow on the spear for a few seconds before fading away. The runes remain, however.

Full round action: Use Runeforge (2 uses) on Bryn's spear. It now counts as masterwork for 1 minute.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

I think we should consider ghosting Drelsh.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Ulan searches the battlefield, hoping in vain to find a survivor.
"The lizards and the dinosaurs both ambushed these men? Damn it all. We need to put an end to this. I say we hunt down those vile lizardmen first!"

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Position looks good. Prefering to leave horse behind and travel single file.
Ulan leaves his horse behind to graze before setting off with the others into the marshes. He grumbles to himself as he trudges through the mud, cautious of sinking into the bog with his weighty armour.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

"Hmm, look here. Seems we got us some tracks."
He says to the group.
"Looks like boots... and probably lizardfolk. And..."
He frowns.
"No idea what these big ones are though. That's a worry."

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

OOC: Sorry about this last minute change but I made a bit of an error. It would make more sense for Ulan to make medium armour instead of a chainshirt for Breggel, I would prefer two sets of scale mail (I didn't realise scale mail was 50gp, half the price of a chainshirt!). The price is exactly the same and so is the time of creation so it won't affect anything.
Since he had over a month of free time, Ulan also crafts a heavy steel shield for himself (takes about 2 days to make, costs 66sp.)
Ulan grits his teeth at the news.
"Savages attacking villagers? We can't have that!"
Ulan didn't much like horses, but haste was necessary.
He places himself at the rear of the group unless someone suggests a better position for him.

I'm assuming Ulan can borrow a riding horse from the militia.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Breggel's help will certainly speed things along. Say... 2 weeks instead. (Ulan cast Crafter's Blessing to provide boosts)

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

No problem. 35gp is the exact total cost by my calculation. The two items will take 21 days to make. No need for any extra, Ulan refuses to make a profit from his companions.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Starting as a commoner has its advantages. My class skill list has increased, so I'm now a cleric with perception (for example) as a class skill. That's not bad.

By the way, how much time do we have for training? I thought we only had a month but if we have more I wouldn't mind making myself an item or two. (nothing special, probably a heavy steel shield or something)

@Breggel: It occurs that if I have more time I could make a better set of armour than the chainshirt. If you can afford it, I could forge a set of scale mail (17gp) or even chainmail (50gp). That may require selling the chainshirt, but I'm all good with that. :)

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Ulan and Breggel gladly repair the bastard sword. Ulan is pleased to get the chance to work on dwarven weaponry.

Ulan does the work for free (assuming Breggel is unavailable) and only requires an hour of labour. The cost of the belt and the scabbard is almost negligible. (Maybe a silver piece?)

(Incidentally, it typically costs one-tenth of the cost of the item to get it repaired.)
EDIT: My mistake in my post above, Ulan didn't get Ironhide feat. Please disregard.
