With his foe slain, Ulan moves to the other side of the fireplace.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Yes... Ulan's feeling a bit guilty about it himself. He will (try) to heal any fallen foes and prevent their deaths once combat is over. The crit was a complete accident. That being said, Ulan is a cleric of Torag. Have you seen some of the tenets that a Paladin of Torag is expected to follow? Faiths of Purity, page 27 wrote: Against my people's enemies I will show no mercy. I will not allow their surrender, except to extract information. I will defeat them, and I will scatter their families. Yet even in the struggle against our enemies, I will act in a way that brings honor to Torag. Mercy is not high up on the list of priorities for followers of Torag.

My bad. Warhammers are x3 crit weapons.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Ulan quickly grips his warhammer and assails the closest enemy. (Move east 10ft then north until diagonally adjacent to nearest foe)

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Not so. Now we have them at a disadvantage and have effectively reversed the ambush. Ulan would prefer not to kill them all of course, but information would be useful. Simply passing them by would be a waste of a good opportunity.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Ulan also positions himself in a strategic location. He knew only too well that he was not fast enough to pursue a fleeing human, so he understood the importance of location.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
I'll assume that Ulan's trip to the Temple was fruitless.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Ulan smiles and bows politely, turning to leave the meeting. As soon as they leave the room his smile changes to a scowl.
I'd like Ulan to head to the Temple of Erastil. He knows Brother Silas and would like to ask him if he's used divination to uncover information about the kidnapping and (ideally) what the results were. Of course, with time being a pressing issue, Ulan will leave immediately if Brother Silas is unavailable, too busy or sworn to secrecy.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Ulan scratches his chin, thoughtfully contemplating the request. It occurs to him that Bronwyn might have departed willingly with Baron Agwain. He replies with politeness.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Absolutely. I'm ready to go!
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
LOL!! My mistake. I meant ULAN goes to buy the scrolls. XD "Brother, it's the finest weapon I could hope for. When we return from our next task I will make you an armour worthy of you.
Ulan also buys some trail rations.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Unless someone asks specifically, Ulan is done with crafting for now once he helps Breggel forge his weapon.
After that bit of shopping, he heads back to the Happy Cow to do some drinking with the locals. He also visits his father for advice* and meets the Erastil priest once or twice when he can. *Next level Ulan gets Craft Magic Arms & Armor feat and I'm hoping to give him a boost to his crafting via the 'Extra Trait' feat. I figure talking to the Tokadar elder makes in-game sense.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
The dwarf opens his mouth to argue but stops himself.
As he walks away, Ulan begins to laugh to himself.
lol, thanks Breggel, although to be fair I'd rather you get a masterwork weapon first since you'll be the one in the front lines. Beside, Ulan can Runeforge himself a temporary masterwork weapon in combat if he needs one.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Heh, I work better in the late evening myself (midnight atm). What did you mean by us both a MW warhammer? My working was only for one masterwork warhammer.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Hmm, I think we can work the rules to make that warhammer in much less time. Firstly, doesn't Breggel has +11 to craft (+9 normally then +2 for masterwork artisans tools)? Secondly, Ulan will gladly cast Crafter's Fortune on Breggel every day as well, that's no problem. Finally, for the warhammer itself (but not the masterwork, sadly), increasing the DC by 10 (as per Core rules p. 93) will reduce the crafting time a fair bit. Maths Galore!:
Cost first: (1/3 of masterwork and 1/3 of item) = 104gp crafting price. If necessary, Ulan can lend some gold.
Crafting DC for the warhammer is 15. Increase by 10 = DC 25.
The masterwork is far more difficult. No +10 to the DC I'm afraid. :/
So, that's 41 days of crafting and 104gp if Ulan does not make assist rolls. I'll try to work out how much time will will cut down if Ulan DOES assist but, honestly, it won't be a huge amount. EDIT: Okay, after Ulan's finished with his armour his assist rolls I work out his additioanl help will take off 2 days of crafting. So...
That's the best I can manage.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Ulan initially refuses the extra gold but Bryn continues to insist.
Firstly, Ulan purchases a masterwork artisan tools (probably from his father). With that done, he returns to the shop and begins to heat up the forge. Before he actually starts work Ulan pays homage to Torag at his shrine, requesting as always that his deity blesses his work. Days pass as the dwarf hammers the steel and painstakingly joins the rings. Despite his aches, he enjoyed the flying sparks and the sound of steel striking steel. Math stuff:
Chainshirt Craft DC to make: DC 24. [Normally DC14 but voluntarily increase DC by 10]. Ulan's craft(armor) check: 28 (+13 skill bonus, +5 for Crafter's Fortune (cast daily) +10 [take 10]).
[check x DC] 28 x 24 = 67.2gp progress per week Time Required: 11 days. Cost: 33 gp 3sp After 11 days, Ulan's work is done. He smiles proudly at his craft for a few minutes before seeking out Bryn. Upon finding him he quickly regains his sombre composure.
I'm assuming you're only after a standard chainshirt but alternatively Ulan could make a masterwork chainshirt but it will take a month in total and an extra 50gp cost.

Yes, I was wondering if we have 'time off' from our militia service. If so, how much time? If possible, I wouldn't mind doing a bit more crafting if time permits. Of course, I'm especially interested in the old map and am eager to head off in search of the place.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Ulan smiles as Mike enters.

Gold recorded! I'm assuming we have some downtime. Once we report in, do we know what will happens to our lizardfolk captive? Ulan ponders over the Old Map given to them earlier. He studies it carefully, now that he has had a chance to educate himself further. Knowledge(Engineering): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
After gathering what details he can about it, he heads to his father's workshop to ask the old dwarf what he can determine about it. Ulan invites Breggel along of course.

Hearing Mike's request about valuing the gem, Ulan sighs.
Ulan ignores Mike's comments regarding burning, letting Breggel speak his opinion for him. Ulan managed to smile and nod politely at the other lizardfolk tribe as they directed the group.
Finally at the house, Ulan requests that their captive is put into a shed or barn for safekeeping. He makes it abundantly clear that the captive is to be left alone and the consequences for disobeying the Daggermark militia. Assuming this is possible, Ulan ties the captive to a post, using the spell Animate Rope to ensure the bonds are strong. He is still gagged also.

I think Mike already acted for this round (casting true strike). If I'm right, then it's Lizardfolk turn.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Ulan backs off slightly, giving himself some space between him and the lizardfolk on the rock. Now in a better position, he tries to heal Breggel of his wounds (5ft step to G12)
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
It's the lizardfolk's turn isn't it?
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Shocked at seeing the lizardfolk wound his brother, Ulan rushes up as fast as he can behind Breggel, in preparation to heal his injuries.

We're in a surprise round right now, which means we can only spend a standard or move action, not both. Readying an action is a standard action so you can't do anything else (aside from free actions such as a 5ft step). Alternatively, you could simply move and nothing else (aside from free actions, such as draw a weapon).
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

Ulan follows his brother's example, cautiously watching the edges of the path. He did not entirely trust the lizardfolks.

Bryn, I think you may have missed. Because the giant frog was in combat with Breggel, ranged attacks suffer a -4 penalty to hit (unless you had the precise shot feat)

Ulan frowns, sensing aggression from the amphibians. He calmly turns around and traces dwarven runes on Bryn's weapon. The markings glow on the spear for a few seconds before fading away. The runes remain, however. Full round action: Use Runeforge (2 uses) on Bryn's spear. It now counts as masterwork for 1 minute.

OOC: Sorry about this last minute change but I made a bit of an error. It would make more sense for Ulan to make medium armour instead of a chainshirt for Breggel, I would prefer two sets of scale mail (I didn't realise scale mail was 50gp, half the price of a chainshirt!). The price is exactly the same and so is the time of creation so it won't affect anything.
I'm assuming Ulan can borrow a riding horse from the militia.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Breggel's help will certainly speed things along. Say... 2 weeks instead. (Ulan cast Crafter's Blessing to provide boosts)
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
No problem. 35gp is the exact total cost by my calculation. The two items will take 21 days to make. No need for any extra, Ulan refuses to make a profit from his companions.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Starting as a commoner has its advantages. My class skill list has increased, so I'm now a cleric with perception (for example) as a class skill. That's not bad. By the way, how much time do we have for training? I thought we only had a month but if we have more I wouldn't mind making myself an item or two. (nothing special, probably a heavy steel shield or something) @Breggel: It occurs that if I have more time I could make a better set of armour than the chainshirt. If you can afford it, I could forge a set of scale mail (17gp) or even chainmail (50gp). That may require selling the chainshirt, but I'm all good with that. :)
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6
Ulan and Breggel gladly repair the bastard sword. Ulan is pleased to get the chance to work on dwarven weaponry. Ulan does the work for free (assuming Breggel is unavailable) and only requires an hour of labour. The cost of the belt and the scabbard is almost negligible. (Maybe a silver piece?) (Incidentally, it typically costs one-tenth of the cost of the item to get it repaired.)
