Making an item as intelligent as a GM shouldn't be too hard.

(Apologies to all you great GMs out there)

Looks like D&D and its offshoots are not for you. Or rather any RPG isn't for you, unless you can find one that simulates the impact on ecology of t-rexes and dragons sharing the same ecosystem.
Hey I'm not the one putting T-rexes and dragons in the game. And I don't want to become this a contest who can be the most sarcastic.

I don't think Gorbacz was being sarcastic. I'm no expert but it doesn't look like your group will enjoy TTRPGs. Most of your complaints are well considered and pretty much spot on. I don't think you will find a D&D derived game that has the rules structure you are looking for. There are games with much lighter rules but those come at the cost of requiring the players to impose what ever internal consistency there is.

Does a Warpriest's sacred weapon count as their deity's favored weapon for purposes of using the Weapon of the Chosen feat line?

I'm not clear on which spells a Warpriest can swift cast with fervor.

The ACG says: "Spells cast in this way [using fervor] don’t require somatic components and do not provoke attacks of opportunity."

One of the classic spells for the Warpriest, Divine Favor, lists its components as V, S, and DF. Am I to assume that a divine focus falls under the category of somatic components?

Another spell I'm hoping to cast with fervor is Defending Bone. This spell lists its components as V, S, F (a Medium creature’s skull or femur), and DF. NJolly's Warpriest guide labels this spell as castable with fervor but using the bone as part of the spell would seem to require a free hand which would be impossible for a two-handed Warpriest.

Can I conclude that I can swift cast any spell without a material component or is it more complicated than that?

Does anybody play this game just to have fun? Like, do you ever make a character just because you like the concept? I'm just curious. A lot of folks seem to just want to power build. I'm not judging. To each his own. I just didn't know if anybody actually made a character they liked without being completely concerned with the math.
Literally no one does that ever and--quite frankly--I am a little embarrassed for you for even asking that.

If the OP was a serious question, then I'll say that I usually mix it up. To make my current Warpriest character I definitely poured over the forums for ideas on making a strong character but I still picked a Deity with less than ideal blessings (Pharasma, healing and death). If I wasn't playing with a couple of other players who are serious min-maxers I'd probably loosen up a bit myself.

I think this was a joke in response to what might have been a tongue-in-cheek OP.

Experienced PF1e player in Novi wants to join a PF1e or PF2e game. I'm retired so weekends, daytime or evenings are all fine. Most interested in adventure paths or PFS modules but will consider any opening.

I’ve been pouring over the PF2e PDF today and I’ve found several interesting nuggets that I wanted to share. I didn’t really follow the playtest but I’ve been playing first edition for years. Here are some things that stood out to me.

"Chapter 9: Playing the Game, p456” wrote:
Some effects target or require an ally, or otherwise refer to an ally. This must be someone on your side, often another PC, but it might be a bystander you are trying to protect. You are not your own ally. If it isn’t clear, the GM decides who counts as an ally or an enemy.
"Chapter 9: Playing the Game, p468, referring to initiative rolls” wrote:
If your result is tied with a foe’s result, the adversary goes first. If your result is tied with another PC’s, you can decide between yourselves who goes first when you reach that place in the initiative order.
" Chapter 9: Playing the Game, p476” wrote:
When an effect forces you to move, or if you start falling, the distance you move is defined by the effect that moved you, not by your Speed. Because you’re not acting to move, this doesn’t trigger reactions that are triggered by movement.
"Chapter 9: Playing the Game, p477” wrote:
The ogre and Seoni have lesser cover from one another. The line between the centers of their spaces doesn’t pass through any blocking terrain, but does passes [sic] through Valeros’s space.

So creatures can produce cover.

"Chapter 11: Crafting and Treasure, p535” wrote:
An item that needs to be worn to function lists “worn” as its usage. This is followed by another word if the character is limited to only one of that type of item. For instance, a character can wear any number of rings, so the entry for a ring would list only “worn.”

So what other small differences have people noticed that PF1e players might miss?

I'm interested in opinions on using HLO on iPad for P2E. Is it as easy to use as the Hero Lab Classic app on the iPad? Is the play tab laid out as conveniently or is there a lot of scrolling around finding things? Does anyone know where I can see some screen shots, especially of the play tab's layout?

I know I could get the HLO demo but I did that first on my desktop and now I can't get a second download on my iPad without making a second HL login, which I don't want to mess with if I don't have to.

Hey all,

I'm trying to determine how maximize metamagic would effect the spell Cleromancy.

[url=https://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/c/cleromancy[/url]. (any suggestions on how to format that link correctly would be appreciated)

It's seems unlikely that maximize would let you set all of the d4s to 4 but I've seen it suggested that that is exactly what it would do. Anybody know of a ruling on this?

122. Will The Gazebo be a monster or a template?

That would be a *really* handy item.
