![]() WH-Witch wrote: At 1st level, a white-haired witch gains the ability to use her hair as a weapon. This functions as a primary natural attack with a reach of 5 feet. The hair deals 1d4 points of damage (1d3 for a Small witch) plus the witch’s Intelligence modifier. In addition, whenever the hair strikes a foe, the witch can attempt to grapple that foe with her hair as a free action* without provoking an attack of opportunity, using her Intelligence modifier in place of her Strength modifier when making the combat maneuver check. When a white-haired witch grapples a foe in this way, she does not gain the grappled condition. 1. Do you have to use the INT mod? or is it giving you the option to use the INT mod? 2. If I grapple with something other than the hair, I assume I get no effects from the witches grab or constrict abilities 3. this is a primary natural attack. So if I have monk levels can I use this as part of my flurry of blows attacks? ![]()
![]() a halting monk would get this choice on level up: Add +1 to the monk's CMD when resisting a grapple and +½ to the number of stunning attack attempts per day. If you take an archetype that changes your stunning fist (example flowing monk, gets Redirection (Ex)) do you get extra uses of redirection instead of stunning fist? Thanks ![]()
![]() Hello all, I'm attempting to make a pfs toon that is a 100% grappler. Not concorned with striking to much, more submissions, pins, etc. I built it in heolab as a monk with the grappler archetype. Does anyone think I could come out better with another build? Maybe a fighter type or something. Please brain storm for me if you've got the time. Thanks. ![]()
![]() Given the state of the Paizo Samurai, I've been looking for an alternative Samurai build to play within PFS.

![]() I'm going to be playing a Samurai in my next campaign and I've notice the information about Honor and gaining and losing Honor. I dont quite understand it. You can have Honor equal to 1/2 you class level (min 1). lets say you are level 10 with 5 honor. What does this mean compared to only having 1 honor? I see no bonus for having high honor. I understand the role play portion of being honorable as a Samurai but do you spend honor on something if not im not sure why having 1,2,3, .....5 honor is better? I notice there is a trait for being able to have a max honor of 2 honor higher than your class level. I see no need in this if just simply having a max honor of your class is sufficient. Hope I haven't confused anyone, Thanks! ![]()
![]() I'm looking for a feat/trait/domain/deity that would increase the caster level for channel (I'm looking to get additional dice for each roll). I'm multi classing with this build and am worried about the loss of dice as well as the DC of the channel.

![]() Im building a multiclass toon that will be built around the Vampiric Touch Spell. Since i am multiclassing the caster level will not be as high. I know I can take a trait to increase caster level by 2. Is there anything else i could do to increase the caster level on that spell or make that spell do more damage/more heal back. Thanks ![]()
![]() I was told today than when a monk uses a weapon that has ki focus attribute. That he can flurry of blows as if the weapon were a monk weapon. Example being a waskizashi or rapier which are non monk weapons. The way I read it was it only counted on special monk attacks and not the normal attacks. Can some one confirm for me, thank you. ![]()
![]() If I have a 8 monk/5 Wiz can the following happen: can I flurry of blows with and unarmed attach and use the spells chill touch, shocking touch, elemental touch, or vampiric touch, etc.? chill touch for example says 1x per caster level that would be 5x So could i flurry with the 4 attacks(from monk 8) on the 1st round and then use the remaining one on the 2nd round? Also would i get my normal melee damage plus what ever spell damage? Thanks! ![]()
![]() Long Story Short: I have 3 (additional)skills to blow each level I want to be able to make extra money although my GM said money wont be an issue, I like to spend it like my wife does irl! Can some one explain how crafting and professions work exactly? Do I just put points into them each level, is that enough? I am thinking of Craft alchemy (because I get a +2 bonus on that statically)
It was also suggested to take Craft wondrous item? I think its a feat? How would that work with a profession or craft skill I select. Thanks much, been trying to read up but the material is still unclear to me. ![]()
![]() 1~Whats the difference in number of attack when flurrying with a two handed weapon vs two weapons? 2~Do you get 1.5x str mod with flurry on a two handed weapon? 3~Are there any real benefits in using anything other than unarmed attacks with a monk unless you're looking for higher threat range? i don't see any weapon doing more that 2d10 at level 20 so it just doesn't make sense to me. 4~Can a weapon fin/dex monk deal the same damage as a str based monk? without the use of agile on unarmed attacks it seems doubtful. 5~I like the Hungry Ghost Monk. Should I go dex based or str. Should I use 2 hander or two weapons. What weapon should I use? ![]()
![]() Ok, the War Hounder's are CR 1/2 and it says for subtier 4-5 they need to be CR1. There is no conversion or addition stat block provided. All it says if give the (x) amount more hit points. Anyone know what the stats are suppose to be or how I do the conversion math to increase the CR rating? Thanks ![]()
![]() Combat Style Feat (Ex) At 2nd level, a ranger must select one combat style to pursue. two-weapon combat. The ranger's expertise manifests in the form of bonus feats at 2nd, 6th, 10th, 14th, and 18th level. He can choose feats from his selected combat style, even if he does not have the normal prerequisites. Ok does this mean if its on this list that I can also pick if up as one of my regular advancement feats? example: TWF and Double Slice are available as a Level 2 Combat Style Feat. Can I get one at level 2 and then turn around at level 3 and get the other? (lets assume I don't meet prerequisites for anything) ![]()
![]() ok, I have a negative energy cleric. We'll pretend he is level 10. this is 5d6 negative energy per round. My question is how Variant channeling works. if I take the "murder" variant it says the following: Murder: Harm—Creatures gain a bleed effect equal to your channel penalty. Does this mean I get: 5d6 neg energy plus another 5d6 bleed at the enemies next turn? or 5d3 neg energy plus 5d3 bleed at the enemies nest turn? or Something else? Thanks ![]()
![]() As popular as this game is, some one out there has to of built a program in which you can add levels, class, feats, traits, weapons, etc and it will calculate damage at certain levels. So that you are able to compare damage of certain builds. Does anyone know of one off the top of your head? Thanks. ![]()
![]() Ok, As yall've probably noticed, I have tons of questions up on these forums. Ive only been at this 3 weeks and I'm now committed to 4 campaigns and some occasional PFS games. So I'm in a little deep and need to make characters. I need a two weapon fighter, here the quick view of whats allowed and what I want and my final thoughts: Rise of Runelords (Pathfinder AP)
*hero points enabled *20pt buy, no drow or goblin *Monks get full BAB. *Point Blank Shot is no longer a prerequisite for Precise Shot. However, it is still a prerequisite for any feat that has Precise Shot as a prerequisite, such as Improved Precise Shot. *Weapon Finesse is a free feat for weapon-focused classes, including every class with full BAB, rogues, monks, magi, clerics or inquisitors with the War domain, or oracles with the Battle mystery. Certain archetypes may also qualify. *Rolling a 20 for both the critical threat and the confirmation gives max damage. *party can stop worrying about encumbrance, I'll won't make you track mundane consumables like ammunition and food. What I Want
What I've Looked At So Far
1. Looked at straight up Tengu Ranger(TWF focused) or Tengu Fighter(TWF focused) 2, Looked at Youxia hunter and Youxia Fighter (but I dont really understand the chart to figure out what I gain and loose) 3 Looked at Weapon Champion ranger and fighter(but I dont really understand the chart to figure out what I gain and loose) 4. Looked at Hunter 5. Looked at Bounty Hunter 6. Looked at Shadow Assassin 7. Looked at Scout and Spy 3 weeks in I got 300 hours of Pathfinder education and just found out there were prestige classes and 3rd party classes...... So, with all that someone make me the greatest character that has ever been played in the history of Games! ABOUT ME AND PATHFINDER:
3 WEEKS, NO SLEEP, BOUT 7-8 PATHFINDER BOOKS, BOUGHT ALL MOD FOR HERO LABS, PLAYED IN EVERY GAME POSSIBLE. ALL BECAUSE MY OCD HAS OVER TAKEN ME AND THIS GAME IS INSANELY FUN!!!! thank you for the help you guys are awesome! ![]()
![]() Ok, here's what I got. A cleric with max CHA for max # of channel energy, took Murder domain for Bleeding Touch and Daemon domain so i can have Vampiric Touch. I get an auto 18+2 for my CHA, and an auto 8 for dex. I do not know my other stats yet but they will be from 8-17(depends on tomorrow nights rolls). I plan on taking Leadership feat when able, because my back story is the character has women followers/slaves. This is my 1st spell caster so is there any thing I really need to do to make sure I am effectively using this character given the prior information? Thanks. Also a question about clerics:
I know when you go Variant you only get half of it, so example. at lvl 20 it would be 5d6 instead of 10d6. So with this VC-Murder do I get 5D6 channel damage and 10d6 bleed damage? (at lvl 20 of corse)Thanks ![]()
![]() Ok I have a lvl 3 Gunslinger and I use DB Shotgun and Revolver, my questions are as follows:
Addition-if i end up dual wielding pistols later on
Also
Sorry for the billion questions, but i've been reading a ton on this and still fail to fully understand! Thank you! ![]()
![]() Belier's Bite (Combat)
Prerequisites: Improved Unarmed Strike. Benefit: When you damage an opponent with an unarmed strike, you deal an extra 1d4 bleed damage. Special: This ability does not stack with other special abilities, attacks, or items that allow you to deal bleed damage If you have this and use flurry of blows on the same enemy, does it stack? Example, Level 11 Monk gets 5 attacks with Flurry. If you hit on all 5 attacks, do you roll a 5d4 for bleed damage? Thanks! ![]()
![]() I am going to attempt to play pathfinders with my kids, I bought the beginners box and was looking for 1 other adventure. My question, I don't understand the difference between: module, campaign, etc. If I'm just looking for 1 quest, where should I search that out at? This attempt at GMing will probably be a failure, but what the heck, the kids don't know the rules anyway(that makes 2 of us) LOL! ![]()
![]() Hey there, working on my monk today. Was hoping that there were items, traits, feats that increase the amount of healing my monk receives. I wanted to take Fey Foundling and use it with Life Funnel and other Hungry Ghost Monk siphoning abilities. Not really sure how to plan out the character though. My vision is to have a melee monk pounding away on the front line while triggering small heals himself, somehow. Are there vampirism items in pathfinders that let you suck enemy's health and add to you own? I think you guys can see where I'm going with what I want to do, so now I'll leave it to you pro's to advise what I need to do, Thanks! ![]()
![]() Ok my wife is wanting a spell caster/magic user that does tons of damage. Her exact quote was "All I want to do is kill things". So what class will kill things best LOL. I haven't played any magic users so I'm really clueless about this. I have basic knowledge on some of the original magic using classes but that's it. Any help would be great. Thanks! ![]()
![]() Just curious. This gunslinger class is very intriguing! I'm curious though. Would a 20 fighter with all the gun-slinging feats and damage feats with say the weapon master or two weapon fighting archetype, be just a powerful or even more so than the standard 20 gunslinger? Because when if boils down to someone shooting a gun, its all about damage! So bottom line, who's doing more damage? Thanks, this class looks awesome! ![]()
![]() Ok trying to create a toon for my 12 year old son. He says he wants to do lots of healing and use a sword(of some type) and a shield. He wont sit still long enough to get much more out of him. He does like the pets also. I want his first experience with this to be good so, I'm trying to get this right. If were looking for max heals, I'm assuming go cleric or druid of some type? What about the archetypes/sub classes? Would bard, pally, other do enough healing? My only concern is that he would get bored with "just a healer" so I want to slip some alternatives in there that he may think are cool. We played the MMO, Dungeon and Dragon Online for 6 years, he played his main toons as damage dealers and Pally was his main. He loved Lay on Hands! That aside its completely different than rolling dice! So any advice you can give would be great. I never fancied healing much so I have limited knowledge about them in the Pathfinder setting. Thanks ! |
