The current information table is now reliable. The Ioney situation isn't actually part of the AP, nor this fight, the opportuniy just popped up because of the Party's interactions and I went with it. :)

I almost skipped this event because I knew with Nivian it wouldn't be much of a challenge.

Nivian successfully reaches Rosie and with the help of those on deck, brings her back aboard. Plugg immedaiately yells at everyone to get back to work. Rosie gives Nivian a thankful nod, but moves on before Plugg or Scourge can take out her blunder on Nivian.

The work lasts well into the night (Ioney, I assume you will help with that remove fatigue bardic ability). Ioney's efforts to keep everyone unfatigued do not go unnoticed by Captian Harrigan (at this rate Ioney, he may actually like you if you keep it up). Though you are up late into the night, you are rousted the next morning to do a normal day's work.

That evening (the day after the storm), Ionaey is called out during the punishment hour by Plugg for his failure to work in the rigging. Scourge smiles evilly as he strokes his whip in antici[ation. However, Capt. Harrigan intervenes.

"That man will have new duties. he may not be much of a rigger, but he keeps the rest of the crew up and about. I won't waste such a resource. His punishment is waived."
He then turns to Ioney.
"Keep up that ditty you use to keep the crew lively. Your new task is to help with the various tasks, but to be able to move about so that the entire crew benefits. Don't make me regret this decision."

He then turns way. You notice that Plugg is definitely not happy with the attention the Captain gives Ioney.

Also, Onnello still has 1 CON damage.
I was showing - 2, did he heal one overnight? I had assumed he hadn't due to the few hours of sleep. Or does the Sea Shanty heal that as well?

Yes, I gave you a night's healing.

You can make three STR checks. I'll reply with three as well and we will match them in order to see if you won.

Onnello, one of the late night actions you might be interested in is trying to steal from the storeroom. Things you now know are that Grok does not keep an actual inventory and would be unlikely to miss stuff taken unless there were signs of a break in (like broken locks, etc.). There are several locked chests and cabinets in the storeroom that you notice while getting your gear back.

Sometimes, if the systems having issues. Normally when I'm missing posts it's because I hit preview and never submitted. But I have learned to type my posts on a different sheet, either word or a 'sticky' note, then copy and post and refresh the page until I'm sure it's there :(

Edit

Trevor0828 wrote:
@ Nivian and Onnello - neither of you gained any useful info, I'm guessing neither of you try to influence?
Onnello didn't, can one character do both a sense motive and an influence? I thought it was one or the other.

Ah, your preview comment may be what I did as I have been trying to limit my typos (I suck at typing).

No, the Sense Motive check is after you decided to try and influence as a way of finding out anything useful through conversation. If you don't find anything, you can decide not to risk trying to influence, but your action for that period is still used. The Diplomacy checks are just a Gather Information roll that represents you asking stuff throughout the day so it doesn't commit you to any action, nor use any action. So, you can both Sense Motive, and then try to influence as well.

Would Hraak think it possible to quietly pray for and prepare any of his spells while working, or would need to be something that he has to do on the next morning when he wakes, but before he starts his duties?

My assumption is he should be able to channel and have his domain abilities, but nothing more, but figured that I'd check.

You can do it in the morning or the evening. You are at full spells for today.

@ Nivian - don't roll for variable time durations as you can't know how long they will be unconscious and such. For this fight, I'll leave it as is.

No ill intended. Usually the assumption is that players are capable enough to keep player and character knowledge separate.

That said, even so I don't know if they are below Level 3 to take the full effects - I simply assumed as much in OOC, on a meta-based musing. But the same would be true assuming average rolls of 2.5*3+1 => 8-9 rounds total stun.
Ultimately, technically I also don't know how much damage I do as HP are an abstracted concept. Or even how many HP I have left myself. *shrug* But all good.
You are the GM, and it's your decision what you want to roll for us in spoilered tabs and what we get to roll for ourselves.
What about e.g. Area effects like Black tentacles Grapple? Do you prefer to roll those? (Specifically if targets are out of sight, so I could not know IC if they are affected)
What about effects like Enervation or Enfeeblement?
Does the attacker get to roll for Mirror Images of a target or would you like to do that?
What about percentage-based rolls like Teleport or even miss chance?
I've seen some variance on all of those so it would be good to know how you want to handle them so we can follow your preference.

No, it's just the variable durations that I keep secret as that creates an atmosphere of uncertainty. Most of the rest of the exammples you gave don't matter as they become immediately apparent.

As for stopping Nivian, that is something you can only do if she fails her stealth check.

Can't I just try to spot her? :)

No, because "Guard an Area" is not an allowable late night action because it would require you to be in that area all night. So we will ignore the entire "Night at the Galley" exchange.

As Ioney comes up to Gogward, he notices Sebastion talking to him as well. Sebastion tells Ioney what he learned.

At first Cogward is reluctant to talk, but Ioney breaks through his stanfoffishmess and gets him to open up.
"Good to look forward to? You bet, lots of fighting. I plan to give the Lady of Graves plenty of offerings."

With the additional +2 from the infornmtion from Sebastion, you actually move his attitude two steps!

Oops, just realized that Ioney already did his evening action. We can make this his daytime action for tomorrow.

Once Hraak rolls, we can move on as we have a winner (unless Hraak somehow beats him).

*EDIT* Since it is only Hraak left, I will roll for him, hope you don't mind for now Hraak.

Well, this was the hardest thing ever. In some cases, like between Ioney and Randall, I actually defaulted to a coin flip. So, without further ado, here is the starting group:

Robert Henry: Onnello Ustradi
Flanderdash: Hraak Rhegnaz
Galahad0430: Sebastion
MordredofFairy: Nivian Mazu
hustonj: Ioney Dragi
Edeldhur: Helgash

To everyone else, I'm sorry I can't run another tablle, I really like a lot of your characters. I will definitely come back to this list if I lose any players.

I will have the decision by Saturday at the latest, possibly Friday night. Thank you everyone for the support and advice.

Recruitment ends tonight at midnight EST. I stopped reviewing characters in depth, that's why the newer submissions don't have feedback. Instead I'm looking at the characters in general and concentrating on backstories and campaign traits. I will do in depth reviews of selected characters instead.

I now see the worst part of GMing a PbP game, character selection from such a large pool of applicants. I hate turning people down. Unfortunately, as this will be my first GMed PbP, I will refrain from running multiple tables.

This is the recruitment page for the interest check I made earlier. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Here are the Character creation rules:
25pt. buy
Background skills
World is Square (Elephant in the Room) feat tax rules
2 traits + 1 campaign trait (1 Drawback is allowed for an additional trait).
Max starting gold
HPs - max at 1st and 2nd level. After that you can opt for average rounded up or roll. If you roll low you can take average rounded down instead (essentially you take a 1 hp hit for the chance to get a high roll).

Game Rules:
Emerging guns
NO Synthesis Summoner
Normally I allow no evil characters. For S&S this is waived, but you must be able to be semi loyal to the player group. Also, beware that I will be forced to either exclude the paladin builds or the evil builds as this is a long term adventure and they can't coexist as teammates.
Monk and Barbarian use the Unchained versions. (See below for links to the where you can get the PDFs)
No psionics
Any race less than 20rp, but strange races will be less likely to make it without a very good reason for them to be there.

I will be selecting a six member Party.
