![]() Hey all, my personal life has kind of blown up in my face. I don't even feel up to going into detail beyond that. Tracy has three social links with Aila. Bastian, will you please go ahead & apply those, either to reduce their stress or something else useful. I'm not bowing out, but for the time being, consider Tracy will be focusing on getting the other 'mere mortals' to safety or something. ![]()

![]() Two points: I'm wondering if people haven't posted in the last week because they don't want to step on a scene's toes, or is that just me... Also, I find it somewhat amusing that my 'aggressive/assertive' action, the one I'm best at, at least, is in Kuudere; which seems primarily to concern matters of dry intellect/the social contract.
Yes, I am amused by odd things... ![]()

![]() I'm guessing that family, with it's potential association with identity, is another no-no? I.E. mentioning to Niji that they look a lot like their sib would likely be at least a minor transgression? edit: Of course if that's the case, both Aila/Aina & Ao could be in trouble... Second edit, unrelated: Between Confess & Forgive, which do you consider more inherent to Tracy? ![]()
Moe: 2 ~ Tsundere: 1 ~ Kuudere: 1
![]() "Different" Tracy replies, only a quicksilver flicker of her gaze from Salvia across both Niji & Takara then back to hint that her reply might be more substantive under circumstances with less...
*As per this post, Tracy actually still looks to be in her mid to late-teens.

![]() What's particularly amusing for me playing Tracy these days, is that the very idea of vamping people to get them off their guard used to be quite foreign to her.

![]() You have both Ao & I mentioned, so I am taking a chance on resisting...
"Really now," Tracy chastens the two sticks-in-mud, "and you wonder why you remain a deputy..." Her gaze locks particularly with Niji-tan's. "You've made your point, though I can assure you, this one," her hand languidly flows towards the quite martially postured guitarist, "bears no taint of the adversary's touch. As Loki can attest, I have become uncomfortably well acquainted with the idiosyncrasies & dangers inherent."

That reminds me, Blades in the Dark has the option to down-shift your position to up-shift your effect. I don't recall seeing that as an option in the materials I read of Girl by Moonlight, is it still allowable? ![]()

Yes to all, except Flow rather than Defy. Tracy doesn't have Defy, but starting dancing when you hear that music seems about as natural as breathing to her. Sorry, just realized I wasn't clear before. ![]()

![]() You are using words like 'meant' and 'intent' in reference to Tracy after you blindside me with over an hour of Spanish guitar music...? Oh, you glorious fool! Sure, let's go with that idea; it's not like she is lead by the heart on her sleeve or anything... Incidentally, I just realized she wasn't dancing a tango, she was dancing a Tarantella... ![]()

![]() Immediately pre-LARP: Ostentatiously bowing the gathered Yokai through the gates to Perfection's Temple, Tracy takes advantage of the fact that she has as much talent for prevarication as a sea anemone does for interstellar flight. Though her lips remain closed, her expressions & eye contact make her opinions of the individual en-fleshed spirits plain, even challenging in some cases. Finally, as all pass beyond her sight, she sighs & ... lets go... Finding herself once more in that place that is no place, Tracy impishly embraces Petrichor before grabbing a brace (or three) cans of PBR from the fridge to slip into concealment within her work rucksack before pulling her hair out of it's habitual work ponytail & brushing it into something more closely resembling a sable waterfall.
Now: The woman, (OMG! Yep, definitely a woman, her costume has cleavage even!) seated at the table has raven hair & an almost milk-pale complexion. Though honestly only 'feminine' rather than 'lush', her body's contours seem almost lewd to you, given the fact that she makes no effort to conceal or contort them to fit current mores. In truth, she seems to have taken advantage of the present circumstances to indulge in garments cut & styled to accentuate, rather than occlude.
Salvia:
Class: NPC/Artisan (Smith) Apparel: Loose, tan t-shirt, off-white (sweat-stained) bandana, tan hakama (soot-stained), heavy weight apron (considered light armor), black tabi, sandals gear/weapon: Boffer-style Hammer Backstory: You have trained under the finest weaponsmith in the land. If you can acquire the necessary materials, you can craft a weapon truly worthy of your talents & prove your mastery to your mentor. Aila: "Well, if you've the courage to come this far," she replies, eyeing you up & down assessingly if not unkindly "'twould be harsh payment indeed to send you off empty-handed."
"Have you a plan?" ![]()

![]() So, little bit of back-track. When I asked if the LARP was an ongoing concern, one of the ideas I was playing with was that Tracy has an on-going diversion regarding the LARP because it is the one place she can 'get away' with gendered clothing & actions. She can get away with being a girl in the LARP since of course you have to have saucy wenches in an RPG. ![]()

![]() The following is not directly related to the present game, hence spoiler-ed. Read only if you care about my thoughts/opinions regarding the game system/mechanics specifically, not the game we are currently playing. Girl by Moonlight & Expectation Management: So, after playing this season for a year, obsessively reading & re-reading the GbM rules-set and finally, having watched multiple examples of play on YouTube; I have come to a conclusion.
Girl by Moonlight, as presently written, is a GrimDark RPG. All the setting sheets have pre-eminent values that are neutral at best, with the majority of values I might consider positive suborned to the 'hidden/secret/transgressive' category. Combine this with the fact that mission objectives rarely if ever elevate themselves beyond 'Keep things from getting worse' & there really doesn't seem to be much light in Girl by Moonlight. Possibly I have an incorrect/insufficient understanding of the Magical Girl Genre, but this seems...
Maybe I'm just old, but the world I deal with on a day-to-day basis has enough Dystopian elements lately, not certain I can handle this much in my escapism as well.

![]() Every good show needs at least one heist episode, so I'm down for that certainly. That said, BastianQuin, am I interpreting your words correctly that, technically, all of those potential missions would be taking place at/during the LARP/social? On an unrelated note, if we are going to continue to have promises be a thing, I would second or possibly forward the motion that we see if we can't bring in at least one or two new players, else wise our promises will always & only be between the three of us...

![]() Empathize plus Help: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8, think I'm going to pass on the Dark Bargain for the moment.
The, comparatively few, times Tracy manages to find herself in the 'clubhouse', it is fairly clear she is taking refuge from the world outside as much as she might be seeking a means to aid it. Invariably, she occupies even more of her time 'purifying' the orb & it's immediate surroundings, on multiple (not every time, sometimes she seems to find his adjustments almost a jazz note to be riffed off of) occasions sweeping Ao's rake tracks into a placid smoothness again. Those of you who note such things, notice when she does so, she always sweeps from the orb outward & that she takes an almost obsessive care to be certain the broom is completely without foreign contaminant beforehand. Before long, she seems to have enlisted Petrichor's aid in furthering the work that Nobody started, occasionally nattering about simple things, (what she misses about life before Neo jimazan {mostly music & literature}, what she doesn't {mostly people}) but primarily what energy she isn't devoting to cleaning & organizing is devoted to listening, letting Petrichor lead the conversation where she will. I really wanted to get a post in regarding Tracy's activities negotiating whatever passes for 'bureaucracy' in Neo Jimazan, but my creative juices seem to be at something of an ebb at the moment. ![]()

It's funny how I completely missed this aspect of how we were supposed to be interacting with 'mundane' reality... Of course, in retrospect, it is painfully obvious how Tracy is failing at being a simple cleaning drudge, rather than quietly & all but invisibly 'making the problem go away', every time she does her job she makes certain (usually unconsciously) that people are aware of that something bad happened there it is still a place to be cautious of. Hey Bastian? Is it possible to have an NPC as both a friend & an enemy? 'Cause a part of me suspects that Perfection occasionally has to flip a coin about how they feel about Tracy... I'm taking advantage of the fact that I literally can't get out of my street to make it in to work to today to try & be creative & post here. ![]()

![]() If I am interpreting BastianQuin's post correctly, you get to define what the mission regarding Phil might be, Junpei; with the caveat that it will take place in/around the tavern scene while Conquest, Brilliance, and their respective entourages are occupied with their dungeon crawl. Which probably means that you (and possibly Chessa) will need to come up with a good excuse why you aren't accompanying them (Brilliance/Conquest)...
edit: My recommendation would be to see if you/we can't do something about Phil hurting... ![]()

For my other downtime actions...Well, a Lounge & Kitchen would be particularly helpful if we are going to host an indeterminate number of guests for an indefinite amount of time, so Tracy will help out on getting that room cleared out/up & running. Finally... I think I'm going to sit this next mission out. At least in terms of actually going out there. I will keep track of things & see if I can't come up with some useful flashback action so-to-speak.

![]() The short answer is that nothing not in the Girl by Moonlight rules set is necessary & the themes of the two are sufficiently different that I would almost recommend not reading Blades until and unless you have a firm grasp of what you want your game to be.
