"Oh? And I suppose you think you'd be the ones to do so? Don't make me laugh!" Reiko says, a grim grin on her face. She casually raises her glaive and makes a show of testing its balance.

Reiko nods and points to herself. "Just leave it to me!" she says with a wink. She adjusts her jaunty hat as she heads off to hobnob with the locals.
Reiko feigns shock at Melenae's suggestion. "Oh, dear! Perish the thought! What am I without my fashionable accesories?" She shakes her head and sighs. "We all must make sacrifices for the good of the nation, I suppose. Very well. If needs must, the hat will stay at home."
"I'm always ready to play rough," Reiko says, tugging on the straps of her gauntlets.
"No, but I'm good at making fast friends," Reiko says with a smirk.
Reiko doffs her elaborate hat and bows. ”You are too kind, Evvie. Lead the way!”
"We are all old friends," Reiko says to the watch officer. "We had planned a girls' night out once Abigail finished her shift. We got to the Merry Maid early to prepare for the evening, which is when we discovered what had happened! Oh, it's a travesty, sir! Our poor dear Abby!"
Reiko looks to see if the attackers left a trail.
Reiko sips her drink as the waiter walks off. She looks around at the other patrons. "Maybe somebody else here will be more forthcoming?" With a smile, she moves off to hobnob and work the room.
Reiko returns the halfling smile, tipping her hat to him. "Hello there. We were actually hoping to speak to Abigail. Is she around?"
Reiko shakes her head once Trand has left. "There's definitely more going on then what the councilor is willing to admit. I wonder what it is that he's not telling us."
Reiko laughs. "Indeed. You know how Evvy gets when there's a mystery at hand. She's like a dog with a bone!"
"Miss Vale! Well, I am shocked!" Reiko says, feigning indigation. "The implication that a person of such high esteem as myself would find herself embroiled in mischief has my garters in a twist!" She gives up the pretense with a giggle. "Nothing too wild tonight. Simply nudging a rumor going around towards the councilor's favor."
"Oh, sweet Louis. I fear that if any of us did take you up on your offer, we would be the ones who would end up suffering!" Reiko retorts. She gives the mesmerist a good-natured wink, though, to let him know she's only joking. This sort of back-and-forth had become commonplace over the past few years. She accepts the drink from Evvie with a nod, sipping at it thoughtfully.
"Smooth, Louis. Real smooth," Reiko says with a laugh. "Careful you don't tug on her hair too hard, though. If even a single strand gets out a place, she'll make sure you pay for the damages!"
Across the room, Reiko smirks at the familiar dance between Evangeline and Melanae. She leans against the wall with her muscular arms crossed over her chest, her feathered hat sitting an appropriately jaunty angle on her head. She waits patiently for Concilor Trand's delayed arrival.
Because inactive games cause me anxiety, I will be hiding this from my active game list. If this starts up again, could somebody please send me a PM? Thanks. :)

Reiko waves at the man and favors him with a dazzling smile. "Hi! I'm Reiko, and these are Abraham, Gynnie, Rain, and Reifuyu. We heard about some strange goings-on here at the manor and we came to investigate. We heard somebody bought it recently--that's you, I take it? What's your name?"
Reiko eyes the gap dubiously. She stays on the far side and readies her sling!
Reiko nods and follows her bodyguard.
"Go ahead and sneak up there, Gynnie. But be careful! And yell if you need help!"
Reiko grimaces up to the ceiling. "That doesn't sound good. Should we check it out?"
"Hmm, that sounds ominous..." Reiko murmurs.
Reiko bangs the wall in frustration, incidentally jostling the loose stone free. "Aha! Found it!" She studies the ring. "Arcane Protection! It will keep you safe from magic spells, but it interferes with defensive wards, too. Would one of you non-spellcasters like it?"
Reiko looks around inside the chimney, but can't seem to find the right hiding spot. "Kuyashii! I know it's here somewhere."

"There it is!" Reiko directs Gynnie to the chimney breast where she detected the object. "I think it's a protective amulet or the like."
Reiko points to the door. "Something magic's behind that one." She lets the others lead the way, staying behind Reifuyu.
Reiko holds the lantern high as the group steps into the ruined manor. Despite her own--well, misgivings, about the safety of the structure, she looks around the foyer with determination. "Well, it's a bit of a fixer-upper, isn't it? Let's stay together and mind our steps." The wizard whispers words of power to try to detect the supernatural, focusing particularly on the ominous stuffed manticore.
Reiko sizes up the tough-looking half-elf before nodding. "Sure thing! It seems everybody wants to come along with us, Reifuyu-chan!" She stands up in her chair, swaying slightly from her mild inebriation. "Attention, everybody! We're going to head out to discover the secret of Foxglove Manor! If anybody else wants to join the party, now's your chance to do so!"
Does that make Abraham Bosley? ;)
Reiko smiles at the halfling. "Nice to meet you, Gynnie. Of course, we'd be honored to have you along with us. The more, the merrier!"
Reiko nods in satisfaction at her bodyguard's assessment. Then she grins. "Hai, Reifuyu-chan!" she says, using the term of endearment. "Paranormal activity at the old Foxglove Manor. Are you up for a little ghostbusting?"
"Thanks!" Reiko appreciatively sips the beverage. "Well, if any of those goblins try to mess with me, I'll give them the business!"

I certainly wouldn't mind a big, beefy person in between me and the baddies. :)
"So there I was, wand in hand!" Reiko says with a grin. The dazzling young Tien woman brandishes her magical implement, carved from white yew, for emphasis. "Goblins to the left of me, goblins to the right, the speeding wagon tore through a sea of murderous menaces. A pair of warriors rose up at me, but *PEW*! *PEW*! I sent them flying like two green footballs! A third came screaming at me, 'Grar! Rarr! Rarr!'" She pauses for emphasis, eyes twinkling. "And that's when I got mad..." She concludes her tale and bows to the crowd before skipping back to her seat to down another ale. When Ameiko comes over, she nods eagerly. "Oh, that sort of thing sounds right up my alley. A haunted mansion in the moors... A mystery begging to be solved!"

"It would be dishonorable to strike them down now. We should go and seek experience and loot elsewhere."
"Isamu!" Reiko cries when the horse falls in the pit. It whickers in fear and pain, but doesn't seem to badly hurt. "Don't worry, we'll get you out soon." She turns to the zombie creature and bows, though a scowl is on her face. "Yes, I am Toyama Reiko."
"Look out!" Reiko cries, leaping clear of the falling ground. Her horse is not so lucky however....
"We can try to talk, but be prepared to fight," Reiko says. She leads the group towards the crypt.
We weathered the storm well. No power at home but no damage to the house and everybody is okay. Posting will still be spotty in the afternoons and evenings until the power comes back on.
Hurricane Irma will be moving through our area Sunday into Monday. It is very likely I will have limited or no internet access for the next several days. I'll try to check in if and when I can. GM, feel free to NPC my character if needed.
