"Okay guys, plug your ears! This is going to be loud!" Totiyonce attempts to throw her fuse grenade based on Ewigga's guidance.

<the throw>
Attack - Grenade Throw: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Attack - Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 22
Attack - Miss Direction: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Grenade Fuse Rounds: 1d3 ⇒ 1

<the damage>
Damage - Bludgeoning: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7
Damage - Fire: 1d6 ⇒ 4

<skipped turn>
Totiyonce yells into the hallway, "Dammit, guys. What are you doing? Get back here." She digs around in her bag.

"I've got a grenade in here somewhere . . ." she mumbles to Ewigga.

<current turn>
"Aha! There it is." She turns to Ewigga and says, "Let me know when everyone is clear. Not counting Mok, of course."

"Hurry up, fools. I'm going to kill all of it with fire!"

toti will hold her action until everyone is clear.

"By the loins of Calistria, what is that smell?" asks Totiyonce.

Then, balling up her fists and screaming herself purple, ". . . because I can't f!+&ing see anything!!"

ah. well. instead, she's gonna sing a song about lame targeting rules.

After a moment of confusion, a very cranky Totiyonce starts singing a very cranky hype song for the rest of the party titled, "Stabbing Irritating Things in the Dark".

Will Save vs Blind: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14FAIL!!
Fort Save vs Strength Drain: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9FAIL!!

Totiyonce shrieks and slumps to the ground, screaming, "My eyes! I can't see!" She then opens her mouth and unleashes an ear-piercing scream at the light creature.

ear-piercing scream, dc 14 fort save or dazed. 2d6 damage, save for half.

okay, so depending on which direction "into the light" is, toti is planning on glitterdusting the bad guys, aimed at wherever her best guess is for where they are.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

. . . and, of course, knowledge nature is the one knowledge toti doesn't have because roondar should have that covered.

yah.  no change in toti's loadout.

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

looks like 5 damage for toti.

toti hp: -6
Stabilization: 1d20 ⇒ 8
. . . still dying.

toti hp: -5
Stablization: 1d20 ⇒ 13
. . . still dying.

Totiyonce squeals in pain, and tumbles out of the way. "By the $*%@#&@$@ God's $*@&@$%!!!"

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21

Once out of range, she fires her shortbow at the bastard climbing up over the side.

Attack - Shortbow: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 2 = 18
Damage - Shortbow: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

note: song and arcane strike for the arrow.

"What the hell is going on?!?"

Totiyonce, waking from her dreamy slumber, grins at Taug, "Let's go, dearest. We've got some orc ass to kick." Then she starts belting out a lusty ballad about all kinds of raunchy ass-related incidents as she races up the stairs to the top deck. As she pops up on the top deck, Totiyonce shrieks in time with the Coxswain's drums and excitedly blends her song to the other woman's rhythm.

she's double-moving to get up top and at the rail.

Inspire Courage: “An affected ally receives a +2 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +2 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls.”

note: toti's is a competence bonus, not a morale bonus, for hit/damage.

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Totiyonce will unsling her bow, warm up her vocal chords, and squeal with delight about her new sense of combat confidence.

huge level for combat. with her song and arcane strike, toti gets a +4 to damage!

she'll skip the indimidate.

Toti went to "work" per her post earlier ... only searching on shift change

    truth.

since she's sounding near the front for first shift, i'm going to assume she's not immediately seeing what's going on.  so, perception check to see if she notices any of those fools playing at the ass-end of the boat.
    Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

That b+#~@ had obviously run off. Totiyonce is irritated she didn't get the chance to deal with her properly, so while she's waiting for the rest of the crew to figure out she's gone she pulls out her mirror and checks her teeth for extraneous breakfast crumbs.

    assuming the perception succeeds:
Totiyonce then catches a glimpse of Jugger's signal. They'd found her. "Oh happy day." She slips quietly along the mead side of the boat, and pokes her head over the rail, eager to see what the fuss is about.

    Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

    assuming the stealth succeeds:
When she arrives at the back of the boat, she takes her mirror, and casts Mage Hand, drifting it out behind the boat, and angling it for the party to see.

"I see you," she whispers. "Whore."

    btw . . .
    mead side: port side.
    starshine side: starboard side.

"Look guys.  The b#%~! can't stay invisible forever," says Totiyonce.  "Why don't we just keelhaul that starboard anchor and weigh sail upriver?  Then, during each shift change, we can spend a couple of minutes and search the ship for her?  And when we find the arrow-flinging whore, I'll let my spiders do their thing."

    "lesser resorations" -- brilliant, mark!

    Sense Motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
"Oh, let the poor girl go warn her friends. Not all women are as soft-bellied as you are, my dears."

Totiyonce follows Raag up the stairs, poking around for her brave Taug.

    toti, overhearing the whispers:
    Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Totiyonce follows along with the conversation, an eyebrow arched, and occasionally peeks over her shoulder, searching for Taug.

Totiyonce, seeing the effectiveness of her spiders, lashes out again, slapping spindly, prickly spiders all up and down the prone monster's nether regions.  This ape would tremble with spider nightmares if it was the last thing she did.

    Spider Whip: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
    Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

    Whip Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
    Crit Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

    Poison STR Damage: 1d2 ⇒ 2

"Fear me, beast," she screams. "FEAR ME!"

"Don't worry, boys.  I've got him," says Totiyonce.  "After I slap him on the leg, my little darlings here will make those limbs a little more limp."

    Spider Whip: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
    Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

    Whip Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
    Crit Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

    Poison STR Damage: 1d2 ⇒ 2

Poison: Swarm—injury; save Fort DC 11; frequency 1/round for 2 rounds; effect 1d2 Str; cure 1 save. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Distraction (DC 11): A creature with this ability can nauseate the creatures that it damages. Any living creature that takes damage from a creature with the distraction ability is nauseated for 1 round; a Fortitude save (DC 10 + 1/2 creature’s HD + creature’s Con modifier) negates the effect.

Totiyonce flinches, leans back, and throws her left arm up to cover her eyes from the onslaught of splinters and debris.  "Big bastard," she screams.  "That was my favorite spot to Tango." She lashes out with her spider whip.

DON'T FORGET THE +1 ATTACK/DAMAGE FOR THE BARD SONG!

You can wield this object as if it were an actual whip, except you make a melee touch attack with it instead of a regular attack. Any creature you strike with the whip takes swarm damage as if it were attacked by a spider swarm (1d6 points of damage plus poison and distraction). The swarm whip is able to damage creatures with armor or natural armor, even if a normal whip could not. It cannot be used to make bull rush, grapple, or trip attacks, and (unlike a swarm) is subject to a miss chance for concealment and cover.

    Spider Whip: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
    Whip Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
    Poison STR Damage: 1d2 ⇒ 1

Totiyonce slides to a halt near the Coxswain, locks eyes with the beast, and reaches out her right arm.  Hundreds of tiny spiders come crawling up out of every crack and crevice, swarming up her boots and flooding in waves along her arm.  Finally, they begin to cluster in her right hand, and the spiders flow outward into the shape of a long, sinuous whip flecked with spider legs and fangs.

"With all those extra arms, I figured I'd bring a few extra legs to the party, too."

ha!  we're totally gonna be like the avengers where they roll off all the smart-ass quips as they're fighting whatever current nightmare is at hand.

Totiyonce casts Whip of Spiders and moves up to stand near the Coxswain, stopping just 15' from the ape.

    Totiyonce is angry.

As she hits the stairs, Totiyonce leaps, wall-runs, and flips past the crewmen -- reserving a sultry wink for Taug near the top of her arc -- and comes to a stop as close to the Coxswain as she can get. "You DARE to threaten my Taug?!?!" she screams at the ape.

Straightening, she belts out a thumpy, ape-smackin' beat, filled with "you just an o'ergrown rat that's got too fat" refrains.

    Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Inspire Courage: An affected ally receives a +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls.

Whipping her head around, Totiyonce listens intently for signs of danger.  Her eyes go wide, "Taug!  Isn't he below deck?"

    Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

just in case she didn't hear anything.
    Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

She charges, hair flipping with the wind, and storms down the steps to the rowing deck, the start of a ballad pining for unrequited love already on her lips.

dumb question: can we put the loot and claims in the loot sheet?

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cvE2NxucoRemYFNhBK-e-jfiKQ9fXvDiaDV hJId4_9o/edit#gid=0

Totiyonce's eyes blow wide, and she squeaks, "Um. Thank you for retrieving my drum, kind sir, but I really must go practice if I'm to help the Coxswain someday."

She grabs the drum and flees for her hammock where she curls up in a tight ball, terrified, and endures a short but fitful nap.

. . . Until dinner time. By then, she's mostly forgotten the incident altogether and is back to laughing and "flirting" with Taug.

When no one is watching, Totiyonce pulls Kagrak's drum from her bag of holding, and hoists it up on top of a stack of barrels.

Back out on the main deck, she coos, "Oh, Taug! Would you be so kind as to help me with my drum. It's far too high and far too heavy for me to get down by myself."

    She leers at him, awkwardly.

"Would you use those enormous muscles of yours to help a lady out?"

She stops, mid-leer, as if remembering the other people standing around, and shuffles her feet for a moment. "Oh, and save our friends and the city from utter destruction. I can't wait to do that, too."

However, like a distracted puppy, she is soon grinning again and whispers -- loudly -- to Jugger, "By the way, did he say 'cache of items'?" Her eyes begin to glitter with the passion of undiscovered loot.

    chapter two setup cliff notes

    the wrap-up from chapter one:

  • Twisted Hearts -- the badguys, orcs and giants, led by female hill giant named Grenseldek.
  • Twisted Hearts HQ is Redlake Fort.
  • badguys staged the raid to recover the artifacts from the Tomb below Trunau.
  • Rodrick was about to blow the whistle on the whole thing, so they murdered him.

    our main job:

  • travel to Redlake Fort and put a stop to Grenseldek.
  • Raag Bloodtusk's keelboat is taking us to Redlake Fort
  • we have to defend his boat and work as his crew.
  • oversized river vultures could get us on this kessel run.

    our first task:

    Toti wears pants?

for chapter two, yup. putting her "big girl" pants on.

    she's got layers, man. layers.

Totiyonce groaned, and immediately wished she hadn't as the pain lanced the spot between her eyes.

The past few days had finally proven more formidable than her constitution could handle. At first, the drink had slipped back between her lips with ease. Mug after mug. Goblet after goblet.

The pain in her head flared as she sat up.

Groggy, she pulled together the final moments of the night before. With a sudden flash of memory, she dug through her bag, looking for the bottle of wine.

    It was gone.

"Calistria's left tit, but I'm not going to live that one down if anyone finds out."

The night before, she'd sneaked away, hurrying out beneath the brightness of the moon. However, it wouldn't have mattered if she'd been racing along in full daylight since these damn orcs seem to be able to in the dark. So, to compensate, she kept her movements confined to traveling across the rooftops.

Flipping lithely across the slim width of the narrow alleys, she made her way, unmolested, to her target of the evening. No-one could know about her little excursion she realized as she cleared a particularly large gap. Especially not her companions.

Totiyonce's eyes narrowed as she cleared the tiled ridge and her goal slid into view -- Clamor.

The rooftop where she'd stopped, perched at the edge, had been close enough. She'd only needed to be a short bowshot away for her mission. Her desire to pay back Sara and Agrit for what they'd done burned hot inside her. Hot enough to drag her out in the middle of the night in secret.

Reaching down into her belt pouch, Totiyonce fumbled around between her new health potions and black adder venom until she finally found what she was looking for.

She pulled out the bottle of fine Drumish wine, along with the note she'd tied to it.

Totiyonce had polished off its twin bottle the first night of the celebration, and it'd been spectacular. Exactly the kind of reward the women deserved. She'd read over the note one more time, and then whispered a short incantation under her breath.

The bottle drifted down, steadily advancing on the front of the shop, until it finally rested gently in the crook of the door.

Grinning and with her mission accomplished, Totiyonce turned and raced back across the same rooftops, back to her waiting warm bed.

Sitting in her room this morning, a soft smile spread across her face as she imagined the girls opening the door and finding their gift.

The door banged repeatedly and pulled her from reverie, her head pounding in time with the hamfist on the other side.

"Get up and get pretty, lass. We have a summons from the Council. They want to meet us mid-morning."

Reaching up, she growled as she felt the lump on the top of her head. She'd gracefully soared across the city, above dozens of sleeping denizens, only to smack her crown on the thrice-cursed window sash of her own blasted room. And, she'd be damned if she was going to use a healing potion for it, so she rolled out of bed and shouted back at Jugger, "Damn you. Reasonable people don't hold meetings until at least tea time. Give me a moment, blast it."

Totiyonce glanced around the room for some pants. It was time to work.

actually, lemme chop this in half. put the singing / checks part into the gameplay thread. just mark it out of character.

no idea which tab to post this on, so i'm putting it here.

over the down days, toti will:

    find a magic dude/chick, pay 90gp, and swap out 2 0-level spells:

  • drop scrivener's chant, add dancing lights.
  • drop lullaby, add spark.

find as many healing pots as she can, and buy them all -- all of them.  hundreds.  thousands.  ALL of them.

  • sing pro-bono about their awesome adventures in an inn somewhere (maybe book the commons?):

  • mostly about the artifact
  • talk to the folks in the crowd to see what they know about it.  "Did i get that right in my song?"
  • hump the first hot guy/girl that approaches her with info

her personal checks for the artifact:
    Knowledge (whatever - they're all the same): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
    Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

    Clamor
Totiyonce accompanies Jugger to visit Sara and Astrid. She doesn't speak much, preferring to admire Sara's sweaty biceps from as close up as she's able to get. "Oh, my. I think I should like to buy you two a few mugs of ale as a token of our gratitude. After all this hard work, you must be thirsty."

"Oh, this looks fun!  I want to play, too!"

Totiyonce digs around in her bag and pulls out a flask of alchemist fire.

"What is it we were doing?"  Totiyonce taps her index finger to pursed lips.

"Oh, yes!  We'd discovered the tattooed half-orc was the one behind the murder of the Chief's son, Rodrik.  Now, he's in here somewhere.  Let's go get him, Jugger!"

    Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Totiyonce looks over to Roondar and shrugs.

Totiyonce coughs once.  Looks around, then coughs again.

"I've got this fellahs.  I've got just the thing right here."  She then fishes around in her bag of holding for a bit, finally pulling a flask of alchemists fire from its depths.

"You might want to stand back."

Standing 20' away from the signal fire, she hurls the flask toward the logs.
