M Human Shifter 2

Tobar remained near the caravan, refining a sheet of silk he "found" in the woods.

Did Marya say that in front of the the elf and the dwarf and Kate? Because if she did, I'm pretty sure Raze and everyone is going to rip her throat out for letting things out of the bag. If she didn't, then she didn't say that to Rhun, since Rhun specifically approached the Dwarf and the Elf, and told Kate to join her and them.

i assume Marya was referencing the initial outburst whereupon you changed from fox to human again after bursting out of the woods

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar remains silent, wanting to see how this plays out. All was not according to plan, but that is how plans usually work.

@Fen: Garlic mustard is a conspicuous understory plant often found in incredible abundance in the shaded floor of moist deciduous forests. It is also frequently found near disturbed areas like trails, hedgerows, shaded roadsides, and forest edges.

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar makes his way over to Gris and Fen, placing himself such that they are a threat to any who would rush to attack him.

Gotta think. What was she thinking??

M Human Shifter 2

"I can't imagine that will go well. He doesnt seem the sort who enjoys being disobeyed."

M Human Shifter 2

i'm here and reading but so far i dont see Tobar noticing anything. not complaining just dont want you to think im not paying attention

Please see my above genius/insane plan that for some reason Igdus doesn't like. I think. Honestly im not hip so I have no idea what that emoticon meant. Google says its a face palm but f#** if I know.

it took me a good 5-6 seconds to put that emoticon together haha

honestly we have no proof what they are doing, no reason to interfere except personal squick factor. I mean, I'm a damn werespider. On a good day I am wrapping a creature in web, injecting my mouth-goo, and then sucking the liquid guts back in like a very large Gushers candy.

My own pet peeve is we have

A) Knowledge that prisoners are either being tortured to death, drained of blood to feed vampires, or both.

B) Half the team is either Good of some variety, or lawful neutral.

C) Nobody seems to give a fig if these prisoners are tortured to death.

Rhun offered a bunch of torture options to see what people did, and was shocked that nobody really said no. Lawful aligned people shouldn't be ok with torturing someone who surrendered, and nobody who has a good alignment should be ok with prisoners being tortured or used for food, yet nobody has even raised a quibble about it.

Are we just doing away with alignments? Because right now it sure seems like everyone is NN with some leanings toward evil.

I am chaotic neutral. For me, law of the jungle is it. In that I am not chaotic stupid, I don't intend to be the impetus for upsetting the status quo of the caravan. However, if someone comes up with a suitable plan, I am not opposed. As far as torture goes, in that argument I was being playing devil's advocate as well as being somewhat contrarian towards someone who had been routinely impolite.

He would do evil for the greater good of the lycanthropes and to the end of setting up a healthy culture of lycanthropes coexisting with relatively minimal issues with neighbors and with him in a seat at the table of power with the others (though realistically he would be happy even without the mantle of rulership and just being rich).

***BREAK***

I agree with your sentiment that complacency is perhaps a problem. But the PCs are not discussing with each other about a way to move forward. Also, not knowing this sort of situation would come up and everyone else being complacent as well, I made a character that doesnt particularly care about the outcome of the situation at hand but will go with a majority of PCs.

***BREAK***

As someone who has a past with making "face" characters and causing problems in game by basically railroading fellow PCs, I tend to make characters that are not in that role these days. I make someone who doesn't lead, but is content to follow. Also I have to be a leader and make important decisions at work, I don't like doing that in my recreation.

M Human Shifter 2

Indeed, but then you smell THOSE things.

M Human Shifter 2

What you say is entirely reasonable, however, using a bucket would also put a strong blood scent in the air.

That is some seriously sadistic and likely inventive torture that leads to one's body being more or less completely drained of blood....

and without a drop leaking out of the wagon, and without a group full of lycanthropes smelling the blood.

perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

"Hmm, I'm not much good at using most of this, except at selling the trade goods."

M Human Shifter 2

"No, then they are guilty of assault, not robbery. Perhaps I missed when they said 'This is a stick up' or 'give us all your stuff', but for all we know they have only committed assault, attempted murder at worst. Not that I care what we do to them, I'm just making a point of order." He holds his hands up and shrugs his shoulders. "But I agree with Igdus on this one."

M Human Shifter 2

"Are thoughts a crime?" Tobar asks of Rhun.

M Human Shifter 2

"I likewise agree," Tobar said, "Besides, I don't think they stole anything so the brand wouldn't make sense."

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar will slither forth to attack. if he can reach one. he wont go much further than 20ft into the darkness

bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
dmg: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

grab/grapple: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
constrict dmg: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar will slither forth to attack.

bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
dmg: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

grab/grapple: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
constrict dmg: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar begins casting once more, this time taking the form of a giant snake! As he does so, he mumbles some b#&#!&@* about spirits of the forest aiding him in his magic to throw off anyone who might be listening.

Anyone with magical knowledge can determine that he is actually spellcasting not were-shifting, i think its like DC 15 spellcraft. spending the SP to take Serpentine Form, Constrictor package, and Size Change as a form trait. Net +1 to AC as he gets +2 natural but loses 1 for size. he will move while prone if you would allow that from a snake.

perception w/low light vision DC 15: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

He will slither to keep in cover if possible, at least from the most possible attacks.

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar begins casting, and moves to a spot where he can limit incoming charge avenues.

Making signs with his hands and chanting a soothing tone, green and red healing washes over him and colors his skin.

doing Revitalize, giving myself Fast Healing 1 for 1 minute.

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar looks in that direction and adopts a defensive stance, fearfully.

perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 plus any bonuses for being pointed in the right direction.

taking full defense for +4 AC

M Human Shifter 2

I wouldn't call myself an irregular poster. perhaps by character. I check the boards every day i just kinda dont have much to say with Tobar. I don't clash with other PCs like some in here and i probably shouldnt have made him the secretive sort as i have problems with "lone wolf" types. but yeah i read all new posts daily barring the occasional day off.

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar remains silent for much of the conversation, as is his way. He then speaks up.

"If there is fear of vampires in the mystery wagon, why not arrange for it to catch fire before reaching the town? Though I think fey the more likely, the mystery is trouble whether we solve it or not."

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar remains silent, even still, trying to piece together clues from what was said.

"No need shooting off my mouth" he thought to himself.

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar, hearing the conversation between Igdus and Rhun, nods in agreement with the man.

M Human Shifter 2

"We should rest and move forward. Peeling back the veil of the forest is a dangerous course."

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar is leveled up i believe.

Spider with swords for legs? Scythes? heh heh heh

DM Lycan wrote:
Applied to the web eh? Sounds interesting, would that b e for purposes of grabbing and dragging?

well i pictured him grabbing and pulling someone up. cool idea but i gotta figure a way to make him more useful in combat as he is not helping the party well. I am thinking of going with Graft Weapon, happening upon a decent weapon or getting a castoff from someone (something d8+ dmg or more), and then maybe a destruction talent if i can find a suitable one. or maybe an Enhancement talent.

Plus if the humans see him morph a normal weapon with his arm they might more reasonably accept that he can transmute bodies and isnt just a lycan when he goes to spider form.

M Human Shifter 2

almost done leveling up and sorry for the delay. i had a question:

the Shifter gets a Bestial Trait at 2nd level, and there's one called Grab that applies to a natural attack. Could I apply that to my Web? not sure if i want to as the web has no damage so there would be no constrict, and it might be subject to the -20 modifier in the Grab description. Just wondering if that would/could be a thing.

i'll pick something else as a backup, or primary and make this idea a backup. I dunno.

Tobar needs more lethality, he is almost useless in combat. I might go with something more suited to that. Grafting a weapon would be good.

M Human Shifter 2

"Either is fine with me. I defer to the more well-versed in this sort of thing."

M Human Shifter 2

Shoot I forgot. I'll do it tomorrow

M Human Shifter 2

"Magic hut, eh?" Tobar pipes up from the rear.

M Human Shifter 2

"Where are the others in your band?"

M Human Shifter 2

"Rocky start. Like a stone in the river, the difficulties will smooth out, I hope."

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar rests during the day and at night keeps within the confines of the fires. He seems on edge more than usual.

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar nodded at the merchant, looking at the others who abandoned their posts to see their reaction.

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar remains silent, the rain and mist dulling his mood severely.

M Human Shifter 2

Hearing loud cracks with no screams was not unusual, it seems, and as such Tobar remained in place. If they want me, they'll call.

M Human Shifter 2

As always, Tobar is patient. There is no way he is running out into the mist he can't see through to try to find the dwarf. Not alone anyway.

The others aren't moving. I'm not moving then. The dwarf seemed to be able to handle him sure.

M Human Shifter 2

"Good Point." Tobar says, pondering. "But what denizen of the forest uses such magic? Surely no city-mage would venture off of the path."

M Human Shifter 2

would i just use the medium spider?

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar is not a fan of the rain. It always dulls the movements of prey and predator alike. Not to mention, wet silk isn't nice on the skin. Luckily, Tobar has no shortage of silk garments to change into. That is, when he deigns to leave the wagon. He rides inside as much as is permitted, and uses spare silks and sticks to keep the rain from hitting him when outside.

When approached by Fenrarem, Tobar replies, "Tobar. Joined up at the last stop. Not really much of a guard, as usual, as you can tell. I just keep my eyes open. Actually, I'm more of a silk merchant."

M Human Shifter 2

i always avoid animal companions since a game long ago where the ranger decided to bring a companion along for our level 18 game. we were fighting some creature that, when hit, does the same damage it is hit for out in an area of 30ft or something.

ranger wasnt the smartest player of all time, but seeing the animal die from taking more than 2x its HP in damage in one hit... yeah.

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar aids the looting effort.

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar stands up from cover and looks upon the scene with nothing to say. The caravan master's word was final.

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar holds true, taking cover behind what he can.

M Human Shifter 2

Tobar remains safely in the shelter of the other side of the wagon relative from the gnolls.

F$+%, if only my magic didn't look like a were-creature...
