As stated several times before, and similar to Jerome, Timor here have been more than lucky to be accepted in several RoTRL games, and each one of them quickly waned after starting :-(

Would love to play this "frenchi-boy" again.

Is this a close recruitment or...? If free to apply, what are the character creation guidelines?

I have to admit I'm a bit confused now - where should I start posting/discussing, if anywhere?

Master Of The Games wrote:
@Timor: Can you put how many rounds you have for your Bardic Performance? Or do you trade that out for something else?

Timor updated as requested - all bardic performances under one line, added # of rounds per day, spells hyperlinked. Just missing third trait at the moment. Will be added soon.

My preference would be to go to combat-heavy group, whatever that is.

Timor was already built for another RotRL campaign which died after less than dozen posts. I would like to apply with him, just need to update him to 25 pts build and all is OK.

Feel free to comment/(constructively) criticize, etc...

To be honest, i am so scared of Paizo dice-roller, that I would maybe consider rolling over point-buy only at 15 pts. Everything above and it's "Give me my points please. Thank you very much" ;-)

So if we want to apply and use dice-rolling, we simply roll here, and take the results?

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Probably a stupid question, but here goes - does anyone know if I can somehow delete this from the list of my "active" campaigns? To somehow mark it inactive or something...?

Well, I wrote GM Zimmer a PM. Hoping against hope there's a simple explanation and that all's well and this is just a delay, however small the chances of that are.

No response yet, eh Alys?

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Nope, not good at all, mon ami...alas, another RotR did not make it :-(

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Similar to Caerwin here - safe and sound, just waitin' for the things to get movin' again ;-)

Looking at all the various entertainers, drowsiness quickly disappears from Timor's head, only to be replaced by "professional appraisal". After all, these guys and girls were here for the same reason as him - audience. Majority of potential competitors were not anything special, in his opinion.

Although the old diviner lady seems to charge quite a lot - either not enough diviners around, or she's really good enough to ask for so much. And that guy with gray hair manipulating that giant bubble - hmmm, that is new. And it even seemed not to be magical...

Remembering finally that he should get one of the front spots, he hurries across the square, and notices with satisfaction that there are a few good spots still free. Placing himself just a few feet from the lip of a wooden stage, he starts to muse on the best possible lines.

Hmmm, let us see - the folks here look simple enough, maybe just a good, hearty laugh followed by "You're the man!" and "Top dog!" will be enough. I'd say that something like "Brevity is the soul of the wit" would be a bit lost on these folks...

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

GM Zimmer, please tell me you are still with us? It would be a damn shame for this game to be discontinued, especially after such wonderful initial display of role playing by my comrades.

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Mon Dieu, what do they pass as cognac in this hole forsaken by gods. My head is pounding...ah, it's not just the head

"S'il vous plaît monsieur, stop pounding on that door..." - opening the door dressed in his nightshirt only, Timor was a sore sight. He looked tired, very tired, and it was probably very easy to guess that he had either quite a lot to drink, or he had a very "interesting" night. Actually, probably both combined.

It takes him several long moments to realize what the innkeeper actually wants from him. Finally he answers: "Ah uoi, Je...I mean I will be there promptly."

Barely suppressing the need to go back to bed again, Timor spends next half an hour dressing himself properly. It is always good to look the best you can, especially in front of the audience

Finally, bard heads downstairs where he orders a shot of "whatever I was having last night, and I do not mean the girl", and with a crooked smile he moves towards the cathedral.

I'm not really a morning person, but if Cyrdak wants cheering, than for sure he will get it - yawning heavily, Timor walks slowly towards cathedral, hoping to secure the spot in the front row/line.

Thanks a lot for choosing Timor, an adventurer extra-ordinare! He tends to use quite a lot of phrases which derive from RL French, hope he will not bore you those ;-)

If it is not too late, I would like to apply with Timor here. He was originally built for another AP, but I have tried to update him to be compatible with Runelords.

I am at your disposal should you need more info. Cheers

Timor was made for Serpent's skull, but his adventure died on him during second encounter :-( More than willing to try again, if there is space.

I've got a suggestion, and I'm inclined to think you may end up listening me - pick Kellen Lightfoot, he's the best Rogue you've got! OK, being only one helps being the best as well, but sometimes you gotta be lucky, not just good ;-)

GM Idyll wrote:
Timor, are you updating your background? Don't forget to answer the three questions.

For sure, I will be changing/updating parts of Timor's background, in order to have a darker, grittier version. Should be done in a few hours.

@Ogrim - thanks mate, best of luck to you as well.

Ogrim Orecrusher wrote:

Character crunch under the profile

Here's the pertinent fluff

1. Are you from Kaer Maga or a visitor there?

While not originally from Kaer Maga, Ogrim as been living there for well over a decade, renting a room in modest inn. Gruff and more than a little surly, he is mostly left to brood alone in his favorite corner of the inn's common room. While the adults are more then happy to leave the scarred dwarf to his brooding, it's a different story with the street rats of Kaer Maga. When there is trouble, they know that the dwarf can be counted on to help when the no one else will. With copious use of his greatsword 'Mercy', he has helped carve out a small safe have lost children of Kaer Maga.

2. What traits have chosen and how do they tie into your backstory - I'd like more than a mechanic justification for your choices.
Reactionary: Orphaned at a young age, Ogrim was forced to make it on his own. Though the elders of his clan, treated him with kindness, his peers teased and picked on him mercilessly. It wasn't until an aged priest of Gorum took him in and taught him the value of strength and power did he learn that when pushed, you must push back.

Veteran of Battle: When he was older, Ogrim left his clan and joined the 9th legion, a company of Dwarves dedicated to protecting the remaining dwarven strongholds. After many years in the legion, Ogrim left over a disagreement of philosophy. The legion fights only in defence, while Ogrim feels that the best defence is a crushing offence. Though no longer in the legion, he still keeps the lessons he learned fighting with his brothers close to his heart.

3. What will your character contribute to the party mechanically?
Being a cleric of Gorum, Ogrim brings all the buffing and healing power of a traditional priest, while still being able to meet out justice from the end of his big nasty sword.

:-(

I was just finishing a half-orc cleric of Gorum, a battle-medic of a sorts, when I noticed you posted this character. Since the chance to have two so similar concepts in one party is extremely thin, I will leave Hagar Silug (my half-orc cleric of Gorum) for some other time, and try to apply with Timor.

Btw. congratulations on the character concept, I really like to grumpy dwarf :-)

nice to see you again Timor En'Anlaven

Well, hello there, girl with big....oooopppps, I meant receptive ears ;-)

Since poor Timor lost his campaign ;-) would it be OK to apply with him here (of course, reworking the background), or you feel it's better if I create a brand new PC?

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

@Vita - I stated specifically that I'm trying to lead Sasha a bit away from the party, in order for her not to feel "uncomfortable" discussing this in front of others, so unless you've been eavesdropping (perfectly valid option), I doubt that Vita would hear that.

Merde, that did not go to well... - slowly and looking very crest-fallen, Timor stralls back into the camp. He eats his dinner without speaking much, and then volunteers to take the first watch shift.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Jindariel wrote:
"And Timor, perhaps you can sweet talk the castaways into defending the camp till we get back?"

"Mais oui, mon amie, your friend Timor here will do just that. And rest assured, it will be done with style!" - Timor replies in his typical boastful way.

He looks around for Sasha, and after spotting her, he moves in her direction. Combing his jet black hair with his left hand, he raises his right hand as if to put it around her shoulders, and then quickly stops. Est ce que tu etes fou?! Have you lost your mind!??! Last time she nearly cut-off that hand of yours...play smarter Timor

Approaching Sasha, he starts talking in a low, but even voice, clearly pronouncing his words, all the while looking her straight in the eyes: "So, my lovely red-head, it would seem that the adventure finally found us. I do not know if there will be fame and glory, but if it is up to me, you can be certain that it will be interesting at least! Talking of adventure, that reminds me of one time in Ollo, on the Shark Island. Avimar told me that..."

Timor keeps spinning his tale, purposefully slowly moving away from the others. He will not move too far away, he is just trying to get some distance, so he could talk to her in a more private surrounding. If/when they are secluded a bit, after some time, Timor interjects a question directly into one of his stories: "So, tell me Sasha, how come did you manage to loose your pinky?"

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Sorry guys, just to update you all, I'm away on business currently and will not have net access for the next 12-16 hours. Will post afterwards

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

So we have 5 potential roles for the NPC's, and currently we have only 2 indifferent NPC's - Jask and Aerys (still waiting on GM's decision for Pyrra's diplomacy attempt vs. Ishirou).

If we are to leave south (which is fine by me), it would be nice if we (through Role play) assign them roles for day 1 (this day).

Jask can only be hunter or medic, while Aerys can serve as guard or entertainer. If we do not "win over" Ishirou, than I would suggest hunter/guard or medic/guard combo. What say you?

Or we remain in camp a bit more, and try to influence the others as well, so we can have all 5 NPC's "up and running"?

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Looking curiously at the map, Timor scratches his chin, then his right ear, and finally clears his throat before speaking: "I have to admit that, despite my normal curiosity, I do not know much about the maps. If I understand you Jin, we are here" - he sais pointing to their approximate location - "...so if that is correct, then south make sense. But before we go, I'd need to know the following - these blue lines, are those rivers, streams, so to say? Freshwater streams, one could assume?"

Pausing for a few seconds, he then points to brown lines on the map: "And to the untrained eye, like mine, these thingies look like roads. Am I correct? Jin, what sa you"

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

I do not have any issues with game going slowly, but I believe I can understand the issues with trying to juggle multiple NPC's plus PC's interactions.

So, as far as I am concerned, I would rather see this game continuing, even in a "slow-motion" than pulling the plug. But I would not scream terrible threats and whatever not even if we stopped it. So let's see what the others say, and of course, you as the GM will always have a final word.

GMI Jask Derinidi wrote:

"I am eager to be of assistance. I will tell you my story, if you care to hear it."

"I have already told you I was innocent - but not of what. I was once employed by the Sargavan government, but when I uncovered evidence of corruption involving illicit deals with the Free Captains of the Shackles, I confronted my superior, only to be betrayed and framed for the same crimes. Faced with imprisonment, I fled all the way to Corentyn, where I've lived in relative peace for a decade." He pauses before continuing.

He begins with a little more anger in his voice. "I thought my enemies had forgotten me, but a Sargavan agent caught up with me and put me in irons. The agent handed me over to the captain of the Jenivere for delivery to Eleder to be tried for a crime I didn't commit."

"I know that it is hard to believe that I am innocent. That I was framed."

Gelik snorts, "You got that right, old man." Jask ignores him.

"One of the incriminating papers that I found so long ago indicated that one of my superior’s contacts in the Shackles was a man named Avret Kinkarian. Kinkarian’s ship, the Brine Demon, was said to have wrecked here on Smuggler’s Shiv. I...know it’s a long shot, but if we could track the ship and explore the wreck, there may be actual evidence aboard to prove my innocence." As he finishes, he realizes that he has spoken more to you than any other person for some time.

"Haroomph! Quite a story you told us Jask, in fact, it could be compared to some of my own, very hard to believe adventures! But fear not, mon amie, for that is the sole reason that I, Timor En'Anlaven choose to believe you! And not only me, I guess..." - turning towards Sasha, Timor flashes his most daredevilish smile - "...and I am ready to wager that this beautiful and capricious lady in here will choose to believe you as well! What say you, Sasha?"

Jin looks up from his reading. "Looks like the Captain went mad, paranoid, and obsessive on us! He was crazy in love with Ieana and thought that First Mate Devers should be killed in an "accident". It seems it was Ieana's idea to come to Smuggler's Shiv and it was the Captain's idea to drug us to get rid of the crew and keep Ieana to himself. So we have part of the why and how we're here on this isle." Jin then lays out the maps and shows the party/castaways where we are.

@Jin - I see that in-game you have showed us where we are, but looking at the map in Campaign tab, I really can not deduce it. Am I missing something?

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

"Mon amie Jin, I do not understand something - I look at this map, but can not say with any certainty what is our position, in relation to the map. You seem like a well read fellow, who knows his way around books and such, would you be so kind as to show me where are we exactly on the map?"

If you'd be willing to give water-walking or a water-breathing potion to Timor, I would appreciate it ;-)

Btw. Timor already have a grappling hook and a rope, so he does not need those. However, we could share the money, even though there's nowhere to spend it

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Don't know if something came out of the attempt to fascinate Jask (though DC 13 is ridiculously low, so he could have passed it easily), but Timor would like to both try to establish why the guy was incarcerated (Diplomacy), as well as whether he might be lying (Untrained Sense Motive). If there was anu chance for Fascinate to work, than it might have helped my current rolls, giving Jask -4 to skill checks

Listening intently to exchange between Brehna and Jask, Timor quips in, trying to give a calmer "overtone" to the entire discussion: "My dear blue skinned Lady, it would seem that you are judging our friend Jask here too harsh. After all, whatever he did previously, now he is in this probleme with all of us, and I believe that he is smart enough to understand that we must help each other, if we are to get out of this alive, oui? Now, Jask, would you be so kind as to enlighten me as to what you did to deserve such punishment?"

Sense motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Any XP for second scorpion, no? ;-)

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Following instructions from Anika/Vita, Timor does his best to be useful. He does not know much on matters of outdoors, but he has no issues in following directions from anyone (in this case, it was clearly Anika) who seems like she/he knows what he is doing. So he tries to help in setting up camp, using both his manual skills, and his minor magics to do the trick. At the same time, he feels almost that it is his "duty" to keep spirits up, despite the situation,so he keeps telling assorted jokes, anegdotes and especially stories with happy endings despite odds.

Interesting, from what Lady Pyrra shared with us, it seems that people aboard were not killed by scorpions, but by something, no, someone else. Hmmmm, we should discuss that, but later, when the camp is setup. We should not waste our energies now...

While working, Timor will try to manouver in such a way so that he is relativelly close to Jask. While working next to him, he will try and initiate the conversation:"So, mon amie, have you heard that today only, I have almost single handedly, of course, with a small help from my friends here, killed another of those monstrous scorpions?! Two already, and the day barely started, eh? Let me tell you in details, how I did it..."

Timor tries to Fascinate Jask - Will save DC 13

Jindariel wrote:
Jin does what he can to follow Timor's suggestions, though he doubts he can pull much up with his normal Strength. If he finds he is struggling, he climbs down and recommends that he and Timor switch places.

Jindariel, it seems I did not explain properly - Timor is already climbing up, for that reason exactly. It is not hard to notice that Jin is not really "manual labour" type, therefore Timor will do the pullin, with Jindariel's help, of course. At least, that's what I had in mind, if you guys are Ok with it?

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Timor watches as Jin climbs upin the rope, and decides it is too slow. Before Jindariel starts to decend again, Timor tries to stop him.

"Jin, mon amie, it seems that we are too slow that way. Why do not we simply tie some net down here, fill it with supplies and pull it up? Then repeat the process several times, until everything is up. I'll help with pulling up there. What say you?"

Even without waiting an answer from the elf, Timor climbs up the cliff, seamingly not minding the danger. As he climbs, he adds cheerfully:

"Milady Pyrra, despite all your beauty and graciousnes, it would seem you are acquainted with life of a seaman, I guess that tieing and securing stuff with some knots at the bottom of this rope, would not be an issue for you?"

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Feeling strange tingling at the back of his neck, Timor watches as his companions are checking the ship. When Anika asks for "volunteers" to help her check for food, he quickly follows Pyrra lead and adds:"I'll go as well" before scampering down to the galley.

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1
Valeria Ingrid Titania Abia wrote:

you could, but given the fight it would be a high DC

and she does to appear as Boar Style unarmed combat so it's harder

For me, you are probably right. Standing between you and me is a big freakin' monster, so most probably DC for Timor should be rather high.

However, you do have Brehna and Pyrra right next to you, they might have noticed something ;-)

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Vita/Anika - eeeerrrmmm, would it be OK if I rolled a perception check for Timor to notice that? You attacking with "claws" is really something...different than I would expect. Cestus fine, but claws?!?

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Seeing that creature is able to threaten him in this confined area of the ship, Timor tries to feint the creature by going to his right first, and then quickly dashing and tumbling to the left.

Acrobatics check vs, Scorpions CMD to avoid AoO, move to J8, not fighting defensively anymore
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

Then, (hopefully after) taking position directly behind the creature, and seeing it's tail directly in front of him, Timor shivers visibly, and tries to stab it again.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 4 - 2 + 2 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

EDIT:
Potential crit: 1d20 + 4 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 4 - 2 + 2 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Ooops, I thought I was making 5 foot step in order not to provoke AoO. I guess it is because of difficult terrain, tight, so 5 foot step is not enough to move 1 square? Nevermind, no harm done (towards Timor, at least), I just wanted to ask since I wanted to move 1 more square, but do not want to provoke another AoO. In that case, Timor will remain where he is, and try to strike again...hmmm, or maybe not, let me check something...

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Probably you missed it somehow, but now is the next round :-)

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Eyeing beast's tail warily, Timor adapts a more defensive stance. At the same time he shifts a bit more to the left, so the beast is caught in between him and Brehna and Anika.

Move to K8, fight defensively (standard attack +4, flank +2, combat modifier -2, fight defensively -4 = total modifier 0). Timor's AC modified to 20

Rapier: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Timor "dances" his way across the obstacles and such, moving carefully and graciously, at the same time singing (actually reciting) a typical sailor's cheeky song. He closes the short distance to the sea monster and tries to stab it with his sword.

"Oh, Fiddlers' Green is a place I've heard tell
Where fishermen go if they dont go to Hell
Where the weather is fair and the dolphins do play
And the cold coast of Varisia is far far away..."

Move to K9 if possible (if not, than to K10) and attacks scorpion with his rapier.

Rapier attack 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 4 - 2 = 17
Potential damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Similar to Brehna, Timor will move to L11, taking a ready stance in order to attack the monster when it approaches.

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Timor is after the monster unfortunately - my Ini is 10, Vita is 13, monster is at 15, so I guess two of us are flat-footed at the moment, and play after the scorpion?

Male Half-elf Daredevil Bard 1

Reaching the cliff, Timor unpacks his backpack and takes out a grappling hook and a long rope. He attaches the rope to the end of the hook, and then tests if it is attached properly. He than finds appropriate spot to spike the hook, and after one more test if it will hold firmly, he casts the rope down towards the wreckage.

Making sure that everything is in place and secured properly, he then turns around trying to see if there is anyone willing to climb down. If yes, he will offer the rope to anyone willing to descend...unless they view him with suspicion, in which case he would descend the rope first. One way or the other, he joins Vita on the deck of the ship bellow.
