So as our Giantslayer AP done in PF:SWADE draws to a close for Season 2. I am stepping back into the GM seat for a game to give the other GM time to convert Book 3 over.

This will be a homebrew campaign ran both in Pathfinder 2E and Starfinder, set in the core settings for each though. You'll be playing a seperate character for each system. There is intermingling between the two stories but mechanically each will stay seperate.

We have 1-2 slots open for new voices who would like to join us. Ideally you would be a RP heavy player with a good grasp of the mechanics for each system who can self motivate as the game is going to be heavilly sandbox with leads moved upon by the party.

This game will be starting end of June/early July and will be recording weekly on Tuesdays from 8pm EST to 10-11ishPM depending.

It will be played using foundry VTT and discord for audio.

If you would like to know more please drop me a DM or comment here.

Thanks!

Epic Facebook argument ensued, so I'm coming to the source.

Caster has undead minion created from animate dead.

Caster gets touched by Attic whisperer and fails save, voice gone for an hour.

Attic whisperer mimics casters voice per its ability and commands undead minion.

What happens?

A: Does undead ignore fake voice and carries out last command to the best of is ability.

Or

B: gets sense motive vs Attic whisperers bluff, and if it fails, follows whisperers command to the best of its ability.

I didn't hate the first one, but it wasn't an "OMG MUST OWN AN REWATCH RAWR" movie.

I'll probably feel the same about the second one, but an actual Bebop and Rocksteady makes my inner 8 year old grin.

Yea the 3.5 APs would be nice (maybe with a little, light updating?)

What's the projected price point. I see the gm version is $50, and includes 6 months cloud service free, but what kinda damage are we looking for the APs and standalones?

I'm sure it's here somewhere, but I've tried searching and I could just be missing it in the massive tome itself, but what xp track does the book work off of?

TIA

Why yes I like a smattering of Hitech in my Fantasy world.

Expedition to the Barrier Peaks anyone?

Thanks Sara,

I will hold my doom and gloom message off for a little longer.

Take the warehouse staff for beers after this is all over.

It's not criminal, but is it a breach of contract?

We signed up under the disclosed dielivery date that he provided.

I think this is where kickstarter has a major flaw. Once the money has been paid out I'm not showing any penalties to the creator, and the KS website is hard to find a complaint box/contact us area.

Kevin - I've posted this several places, facebook and the ks in hopes that FMG gets the message.

I'd not be so upset if when a deadline was failed we as the consumer would get an explanation as to what's causing the hold up. But Gary is flying around the country on what I feel is my dime doing conventions and not delivering on his promises.

In any other avenue of employment this kind of lack of communication/production would get you fired. Here we are held captive by a company that already has 40000 dollars worth of our money and has effectively stolen it. Yes that's a bit of sensationalism, but that's how I'm feeling at the moment.

I'm also considering other avenues to hold FMG accountable to those of us who gave them our money, but I won't go into those here because this is not the correct venue for that.

Dear FMG,

You have soured my opinion of Kickstarter and backing projects with the lack of communication and delays on when Throne of Night will be delivered.

Initially it was promised with delivery on May, then June, Then August...

You said "Book One of Throne of Night will be out in PDF by the end of August. Book Two should follow by the end of September."

It is now Mid-September and you've not updated us yet again.

I appreciate the work you did with WotW and am hopeful that one day you will deliver on your promises for the people who spent 40000 dollars to fund this project for you.

If you can't handle the demands you have set for yourself then how can you expect people to buy your product in the future?

Personally after this I will NEVER support your company regardless of how spectacular the product because you are unprofessional in your expectations and estimations.

Please cancel my pathfinder maps subscription.

Thanks

I'm not one for the modules, but I will be buying this just for the Alkenstar gazeteer.

My issue has been fixed, hope yours is too Dragon.

I'm having the same issue

Thanks Atzen.

When I think back to my days in fantasy 101 there were always sages who could just look at you and delve all sorts of knowledge about quests, items, artifacts, etc.

So last year in my first attempt to be in RPG superstar (failed horribly btw) I prepped this as a possible archetype for round 2. It got lost in my computer after I didn't make it through the first round, and I was cleaning up files and thought why not post it.

Thanks for taking a look, and I welcome all constructive feedback.

Sage Archetype (Wizard)

Sage Knowledge (Ex): A sage adds half his class level (minimum 1) to all Knowledge and Spellcraft skill checks and may make all Knowledge skill checks untrained. Replaces Scribe Scroll.

Sage Bond (Su): At 1st level the sage gains Identify as a bonus spell in their spell book at 1st level. They may spontaneously cast the spell by sacrificing a prepared spell in a spell slot of at least 1st level. At 6th level the sage gains the ability to cast Identify as a Spell Like Ability a number of times per day equal to their intelligence modifier. At 11th level they add Legend Lore to their spell book as a bonus spell and may spontaneously cast it by sacrificing a prepared spell in a spell slot of at least 6th level. At 16th level the sage gains the ability to cast Legend Lore as a Spell Like Ability 1/day. Replaces Arcane Bond

Lore Master (Ex): At 5th level, the Sage becomes a master of lore and can take 10 on any Spellcraft or Knowledge skill check that he has ranks in. A sage can choose not to take 10 and can instead roll normally. In addition, once per day, the sage can take 20 on any Spellcraft or Knowledge skill check as a standard action. He can use this ability one additional time per day for every six levels he possesses beyond 5th, to a maximum of three times per day at 17th level. Replaces 5th Level Bonus Feat

My first ever PFS scenario played, and it very much has me hooked, not just for society play, but also quick plug and play adventures for my homebrew games.

Owen wrote a beautiful, quick module that packs quite a bit of creepy in with the fun of the adventure.

At the top of the product review you'll see a sentence that says "Write a review for (Product). The Words "write a review" hold the link to the review box.

Can't wait

Hmm...

Novel Spoiler:
Maybe going into Caliel's betrayal?

Here's the great thing about any rule in any RPG ever...

If you don't like it... don't use it.

Unless you're playing in a sanctioned game it's all just words on a page you can or cannot follow.

Personally I love the idea of story feats, but can see where others don't, but as a DM you can disallow things, and as a player you can choose not to use them for your character.

More options is never bad when you can choose what options to use in any game.

Chris,

Just finished the book and I thought it was great. I rank it on my top 3 Tales line books. I very much enjoyed the non-traditional heroine in Celeste and her interactions and evolution as a character felt very organic and not forced as I read it.

Hope to see more adventures with the crew of the Stargazer in the future be it another full novel or here on paizo.com with the free fiction.

Our campaign update

Spoiler:
No deal with the Devil, even though his deal sounded great it also sounded too good to be true, so I did not make a deal with the Dessiter. He rubbed me the wrong way.

So we have an army of undead, duergar, and sacarats companies he lent us. A Medusa and an Ogre mage with us as well. Had to pummel her into submission, but she should be of great use in the battle to come.

So we've made it too the veil, after some preliminary scouting my character realizes the way in is best fitted by shadow tactics on the tower quickly so I grab my strike team (the PCs) and come up with a plan.

I infiltrate the town as a missionary that had been the sole survivor of a group leaving the vale. Act check passes, ring of nondetection on and into town I go. From there I study the room for a bit so I can properly teleport to it and grab my homies.

The fire Oracle summons several fire elemental while I invisibility sphere us and we move on the tower. Lucky use of passwall into the tower and we're in slaughter the room and just pass wall up floors heading to the top floor quickly and dropping darkness on the room.

We take the tower with little problem due to the disarray we caused with the passwalls no alarm sounds, no gates drop, and our army storms across the bridge with no resistance. No time to rest though because there's a demoralized army that is quickly getting their morale up.

Also heard rumors of a phoenix, good thing I purchased that frost brand from a random merchant. (Bought it mainly in case the fire oracle goes crazy and tries to kill me)

The party makeup at this point is me: Noble Scion/Gladiator(still on my first char) with several points in UMD and a very high CHA

Crazy pyro (2nd char) fire oracle/lawyer

The returned Half Fiend Orc Barbarian who is obsessed with marrying Iomedae(mitra)(3rd char but rehashed his first with more flavor) with an intelligent artifact (My DM adds some crazy random encounters and side treks)

and the recently turned: Vetala Fighter (6th or 7th char... so it's a good thing he's darn hard to kill now) my DM wanted to use Blood of night and random rolled the type of vampire that would be willing to turn him he now has an xp deficit to make up for the +2 CR he gained from the template

Well the pledge boost for printed way of the wicked is for explorer level (getting the printed ToN) so they're just adding that for people who may have missed WotW the first go round.

Personally I have pledged for all 12 PDFs but I may up it towards end of run depending on how funding lines up. Because I love the feel of books in my hand.

I plan on running ToN at least 3 times so I can get the full experience of it. Once as Dwarves, once as Drow, and once as the adventuring party option.

In my homebrew set in Golarion my PCs have finally made it to their first metropolis for an extended time (The cavalier needs to recieve training from his order)

While they're here I know they're going to be looking for their next adventure. The game is player driven with their choices expanding their stories.

I'm looking for rumors of the world that can get my players plotting their next steps.

Rumor types:

Knowledge (rumors based on various knowledge types, mostly tied to knowledge local)
Adventure (rumors that lead to a printed adventure or scenario)
Trade (some town is looking for goods, or will be selling good at a premium)
Dungeon (leads to a dungeon)
Please add other types you think of

Rumor styles:
False (completely incorrect)
Vague (details are sketchy at best some information is wrong)
Solid (Details are good, but a couple of key points missing)
Exact (There is a golden exclamation point and all details are correct)

Most rumors will be vague/false because you know how rumors are.

HEre are a couple of examples I've made at work just hitting random on one of the Wiki's I can access at work.

The pathfinder society and Aspis Consorteum are looking for some sage in Galt Vague Adventure To Scale the Dragon PF scenario season 0
To get on the high council of absalom you have to a copious amount of corn False Knowledge(local)

That looks amazing!

starts saving pennies

LArger pawns!

You could make special X bases and have the paws slide into each other for the larger scale encounters.

it would be 3 shots with rapid shot and a bab+6 (+4/+4/-1) before dex/magic other bonuses

Sara my MArch Subscription is currently rolled into April

Any way this is gonna fix itself or am I waiting for an extra month?

You can get them at your FLCS, but the paizo.com covers have been great and those are exclusive to paizo.com.

I blame this comic for me getting back into comics as a whole, which now includes 3 other books and the hardback AvX trade.

Disregard the above message

The wonderful CSRs have taken care of it for me.

Thanks Sara! Next year (which I will make it because I won't be low man on totem pole) I will buy you a festive adult beverage!

I bought my tickets for Paizocon and the banquet early to ensure I didn't miss out, but I'm now unable to make it due to work scheduling.

Is there any type of return policy on this? I'd be perfectly happy with credit that would apply to future subscriptions.

Thanks!

I think this novel has been my favorite in the tales line.

Wellp my job wouldn't let me take vacation for Paizocon due to me being low man on totem pole and the plague ate up all my sick days in January. So my pre purchased a ticket and banquet ticket was not the best idea.

But luckily Paizo allows you to transfer!

So I'm looking for someone who wants to buy my ticket and banquet pass.

Keep printing them I'll keep reading them.

This book grabbed me from the start, and I personally enjoyed the morally ambiguous buddy romp through the river kingdoms.

I do agree that the Tales line has not had many "HERO" main characters, but I don't think Pathfinder as a whole has many true heroes. You have people who do what they FEEL is right as per their own sense of morality or obligation.

Doing good solely for good's sake seems to be a lost idea on the whole, but in a world were the God of humanity up and vanishes when he's supposed to return and usher in a golden age I can see why.

Kevin that's my fear...

We start book three officially today at 4 EST... I'm excited!

Nope, it all works out in the long run and I let the loot falls where it may.

Are you running it PF, or 2e?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

WANT! THIS! NOW!

I'm reading the module and taking notes, I think it's gonna start at a LVL 8 - 10

I'll probably be giving Kobolds class levels and have a few "Generics" then adjust weaponry/tactics like Paizo did with the monks from the Ruby Phoenix Tourny module.

I was bored looking at my game shelf and the Dragon Mountain box set from 2nd ed caught my eye.

So I'm gonna rework this for Pathfinder.

Starting book 3 after a disasterous end to book 2

Spoiler:
My PC died the day before the final ritual. And since he was the leader he didn't tell the request to the Daemon.

1st request bring ossus back to life

2nd request I got the tears

3rd was a hard one do I ask for no harm and let a powerful Daemon loose on the world and subvert my lord's will or be suspetable to the plague but banish a possible enemy forever

I went with my lord's interest in mind and banished the Daemon to his plan never to return to the material plane

We're all gonna get very sick in book 3 I have a feeling.

Patrick,

My abduct peasants were used to feed several things that we made allies with thorughout the module. Had to dedicate at least 10 peasants per week to keep everything properly fed.

Hunt Beasts gave us a steady supply of scorpion poison and more food for the beasts, as well as giving us some Hydras and Owlbears for dungeon carnage.
