Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

I admit I am completely confused about the situation :D

Teraldan draws his bow, and prepares for aggressive action - "Stand at attention friends, I have no idea what to expect of this, but I agree with Broldun - keep moving" - he pipes in, waiting to see if everyone moves away, and following them.

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Teraldan listens to the discussion with a stern look on his face - as they move towards the room, he follows Mungo closely, but before he does, and while passing by Quill, he hands him the sword - "Here it is - if you feel it will be put to good use in your hands, take it. Make sure to use it whenever we need you to" - with a nod he moves away, and after the halfling ranger.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

As the others move into the room, Teraldan follows, wanting to make sure he can offer his protection if needed - "From what we have heard, the Bell is intimately related to the church of Chardastes, so perhaps we can find clues here - this room seems too... Empty"

He decides to aid Ni-CU checking the statue.

Perception Aid: 1d20 ⇒ 19

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Teraldan picks up the sword, and admires its workmanship - "I could use this my friends, as it seems I have seen more melee combat than I had anticipated"

I'll take the sword if there is no better candidate - I'll defer if that is the case.

"Welcome to the fold Mungo, this area is surely powerfully enchanted, at least with magical travel" - he bows at the newly arrived halfling - "I am Teraldan" - he adds, staring as Bogo dashes away.

He motioned to stop the Quill, but it was fortunately not needed - "That was indeed a most strange of creatures, and how that gem affixed to his chest is something I have never seen" - he adds to his companions.

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Set on fire, Teraldan drops on the floor trying to put the flames out.

Standard action Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Able to extinguish the flames he stand up, staring at the charred remains of the creatures who attacked them in silence.

HP: 4/11

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Wasn't I entitled an AoO when they tried to grapple me?

"Wait everyone!" - Teraldan shouts, his voice unusually strong for such a small size - "This will take us nowhere!" - he turns to his companions and the golems at a time - "We can let them live, and they can provide us with information - let us strike a deal"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Wait, they are trying to grapple who? Me?

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

"Wait!" - Teraldan's words are too late, as the fight is on again.

We're back on initiative?

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Teraldan steps to the side to offer Malthor a flanking opportunity, as it seems he is the most effective of them against these creatures.

He slaps the one next to him, not to damage as it could prove worse than anything else, but rather to call its attention.

Mock attack on AA:34

"Fight me you overgrown weed"

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

So... Bogo is trying to set himself on fire...

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

"Do it then friend Malthor - I have nothing that would assist to such effect" - Teraldan retorts at his companion, shifting his position to flank with Ni-CU while drawing his sword, and swinging - "Face me, wicked creatures!" - he taunts them.

Longsword Attack, Flank, Bless: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 2 = 18
Damage if it hits: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Wow...

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Tribute, are both creatures occupying the same square? I see only one golem.

"It divided in two?" - Teraldan states the obvious with clear surprise - "I am not sure my weapons can harm it friends, but I will stand in its way" - he adds, dropping his bow and moving forward while drawing his shield.

Moved to AA:32 on the map.

Current AC goes to 21 with buckler.

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Teraldan lets fly an arrow at the creature, firing from point blank range.

Damage if it hits: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Apologies people - I had hidden this thread sometime back after we went to each respective groups, and I have no idea how to 'un-hide' it... So I missed some recent posting.

Teraldan listens to the exchange for some time, then steps in adding - "Well, I can only say it is by the strangest twist of fate that we find ourselves together here, but in truth it can only makes us stronger" - he offers a nod and a smile to his companions.

"The account relayed to us was that a renegade cleric by the name of Elwyn has been organizing orcs based off from this temple. We are here to both stop him and his plans, for the safety of Karameikos, and to strengthen the bond between the clergy and the Duke himself" - the halfling's voice sounds grave.

"I am in agreement with Aviari - let us proceed forward. As for the leader, you can count on me for making decisions when decisive action is called for, and I thank you for your trust. Otherwise we are a group, and all voices are to be heard"

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

"I was not expecting to find you here" - the halfling comments when he sees the others - "What has happened?"

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Checking in here - will the other threads become inactive? Are we picking up from where we left off?

EDIT: Hmmm, I had hidden this thread - how do I unhide it?

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

I think I'm gonna wait for Aviari to see if I can back up 5' and keep on using my bow :D

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

'Orcs!' - Teraldan warns his companions, taking a step back, and attacking the first orc in line.

Longbow Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Damage if it hits: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Longbow Attack crit confirm: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Additional damage if it crits: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 6) + 2 = 14

Hmmmm... Maybe they are flat footed? :D

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

'I will stand guard at the corridor' - the halfling nods at Aviari - 'Surely there must be more to this' - then moves off to stand guard with his bow, peering down the corridor.

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 15

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

"I am here Aviari" - Teraldan retorts, getting up - "Stand ready, there might be follow ups to this trap" - he gets his weapons at the ready, standing defensively.

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Who's up?

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

I'm game. Posting was slow last week since I was on vacations. Now that I am back, I'm catching up on my games ;)

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Hello people,

Wanted to let you know I am going on a few days vacations with my family this Sunday, and will only be back on next Friday.

I am supposed to have wifi coverage, and will most likely be able to check the boards, but my posting will surely be spotty, if any.

Feel free to bot me as needed to keep the game moving ;)

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Teraldan is definitely following, but stops at the door with a warning - "Careful friends, there may be traps about"

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Bump? I am not sure :D

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Someone take 20 - I would, but still wouldn't be enough ;)

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Again apologies for the prolongued absence guys...

"Amazingly well done my friends" - Teraldan steps forth, putting his sword away - "It seems they were performing some unholy ritual in here - I can fathom a multitude of purposes, but cannot understand what would be their exact idea" - the halfling adds with a stern look around the room, and at his companions.

Just an OOC note to say that as far as Teraldan is concerned, Bogo has absolutely nothing to do with their previous arrangement in town. Bogo is entitled to an equal share of the treasure he will lead them to, as to an equal share of whatever they find on their way there - since I haven't been able to post much, just wanted to throw this out there in case his position wasn't clear :D

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Guys, I want to apologize for a crappy quality and rate of posting these last days - going into my 8th straight day of work today... Still will try and post later on.

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

I am sure I will be able to use my bow at least once during this adventure ;)

Dropping the bow, Teraldan reaches for his blade, moving around, and flanking the acolyte with Bogo - "You have been given a chance to parley - that time is over now" - his words bear a grim determination as he swings.

Longsword Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 2 = 20

Tribute, is Teraldan still doing 'The Robot'?

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

NO! I didn't want to kill Kenny... I am not a bastard! Wait, no.. Lenny? :D

Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

Teraldan starts moving forward in a sort of automaton way.

Moving to E:9

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Teraldan takes the first line, bow drawn - "We are offering you a chance to state your intentions in Karameikos. Speak now!"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

He remains in a combat stance however, ready to attack immediately if there is an aggressive response.

Readied Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Damage if it hits: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

"Maybe we can reason with them, and convince them to leave" - Teraldan retorts at Denlin - "But I doubt it"

Knowledge (Religion): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Checking for any recognizable religious symbols

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

I am here - got back yesterday from the weekend out with the family, and was kinda wasted to post much.

And my girls are still on summer vacations, so posting can get spotty sometimes. But I am game ;)

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Apologies for the delay people - last couple of days have been really busy with job hunting.

On a side note, I will be travelling tomorrow with the family, and until about midday Tuesday - internet access will be limited to phone, so posting will probably be irregular.

But I will still post today ;)

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

I have only ever moved twice, but I am always amazed at the sheer amount of 'stuff' one ends up finding out one possesses...

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

"I believe all deserve a fair share" - Teraldan adds - "And a fair share, is an equal share" - he then turns to Bogo - "In a group, all play their part - today you show us the map to this treasure, but tomorrow one of us swings a weapon or casts a spell that saves your life, making sure you are alive to reclaim any part of it" - he nods with a serious look - "That is how I believe things should be done, and no other - we are nine, and that should be the division to be made"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Beating up stuff is always important :D

"Sometimes a few questions may save more lives than a heavy hitting weapon Denlin" - he smiles at the companion travelling at his side - "Maybe this is ont of those situations"

By the way, I'm gonna ride 'MA pony' inside - he should fit, right?

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Aviari, keep in mind we are level 1 so no Lay on Hands yet ;)

Ni-Cu, I was thinking this could be 'combat formation' - when the scout is ahead, then I say his position remains vacant - Maldor's aura won't get there anyway, right?

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear
Malthor Goldbottom wrote:
Teraldan, why don't you set up a marching order as you're the leader, so that we have a better tactical set up. I think we had a few too many of us drop last time.

In fact, we are all kinda squishy - level 1 and all :D

Teraldan nods at his dwarven companion, then looks around the group - "Ok then, we should keep a tight formation around Maldor to benefit from his magical enhancement to our defenses" - he looks at his bow - "I have trained most my life to fight with a bow, though it seems I should be taking the front line" - he adds.

Thing is, Teraldan is an ARCHER Paladin, though it seems his AC is one of the highest :D He will be good at defense, but not very strong in offense, even with Inspire Courage up.

"Let us do it like this then" - he finishes.

Gonna make it OOC:

Front
Denlin Teraldan
Maldor Malthor
Arya -- Aviari
Ni-Cu - The Quill(not sure about his skills...)?

"What say you all?"

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

I don't think I got hit in the fight ;)

Teraldan takes some time to set up the watches (even though the night is uneventful :D), and to exchange a few words with Bogo - "Why did you come back and help us?" - he questions with a grave tone, opening the map in front of them - "And what exactly is this map?"

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

"Agreed" - Teraldan pipes in at the suggestions from his companions to find a secluded place to rest - "We were hit hard by these creatures, and we need to recover and re-think our approach" - the halfling adds.

As the troglodyte returns shortly after, the paladin's hand instinctively goes for his weapon, but a smile opens up when he realizes his intentions - "Thank you" - he offers, taking the potion, and passing it to Aviari - "You will know best on who to use this my friend", and keeping the 'treasure map' for later study.

Assuming the troglodyte then bails out again:

"Amazing" - he adds simply, staring as the creature moves off, then turns to his companions - "Ok Denlin, help me with Malthor. Aviari, do you think you can find us a place to rest? Maldor and Arya, will you assist in transporting Ni-Cu?" - he urges his companions, retrieving his bow, and moving to Malthor.

Stopping short, he turns back to Aviari - "Or do you think we should try to administer the potion to one of them right away? Even more important, how can we be sure it is indeed a draught imbued with magical healing?"

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Apologies for the delay people - have been in 'family mode' the last couple of days. I wouldn't probably have used smite evil so early in our incursion, but thanks for the GMPC Tribute ;)

"I would rather we wouldn't simply execute a downed and defenseless foe" - Teraldan pipes in - "They have been cowed and are no longer a threat, so I say relieve the creature of any weaponry, and set it loose"

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

People, just a heads up.

My girls' Summer vacations have began this week, so my posting may become sparse at times. My apologies in advance if it happens.

I will be usually around, and can probably keep up, but kids + Summer + Vacations = Mostly unpredictable ;)

Male Halfling Paladin lvl1 - HP: 8/11 - Init +3; Senses Perception +0 - Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +2; +2 vs. fear

Vying for the best tactical advantage possible, Teraldan would shift his position, but since this would leave Maldor unprotected, he stays put - "Stay close, friend Maldor" - he adds to his wizard companion, dropping his bow to the side, drawing his sword and attacking the Trog that fights Denlin.
