Hoping to Charge Atsu's bee... Tawk mutters in frustration as the burrowing enemy disappears below. He turns to assist Atsu: Full Round Action: Charge. Ker!!!: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 29 [+3 BAB, +1 enchantment, +1 Str, +2 charge, +2 Atsu's aura] [-2 to bee's AC due to stricken]
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 14
If Charge is not possible, remove +2 from attack roll

Sorry for my absence. Father-in-law had a stroke (seems to be much improved now...), plus night shifts over the weekend meant I was discombobulated. Will try to catch up over the next day or so...

Tawk sees no other recourse except to flail on...his form wavers, eldritch and dire power filling his every mote - he swings in fury... Swift Action: Expend one point from dire pool to add +2 to damage for 3 rounds.
Dread Assault:
The direlock can expend 1 point (only) from her dire pool to make an extra attack with her dire weapon using her level as her BAB. If more than one attack hits in the round, the direlock gains a +1 circumstance bonus to any critical threat confirmation rolls. This incunabula must be declared and used as part of a full round action and cannot grant more than one extra attack per round. Karangg!!!: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 22 [+3 BAB, +1 enchantment, +1 Str] [-2 to bug's AC due to stricken]

SPTV: Tawk gauges the distance to the insect the burst so suddenly from the ground. He hates waiting for things to happen, and this, could get worse if the insects come together. If he can dispatc the ground creature....or at least get the insects to concentrate on him allowing his allies a distraction...
"Ah, what the hell..." he mutters, then, flail raised high and swinging he yells madly and rushes the burrowing insect... Full Round Action: Charge burrowing bug. Aiieeeeeeee!!!: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 26 [+3 BAB, +1 enchantment, +1 Str, +2 charge] [-2 to bug's AC due to stricken]

Tawk gapes at the oncoming creatures, thankful that his mask hides his opened mouth. He recovers masterfully. He pulls his head back in the doorway. "Bugs. Why does it have to be bugs?" Like a good merc, Tawk is spurred into action by the approach of enemies - he quickly shakes his heavy flail and his whole form judders and shimmers as he is filled with fearsome power. Now enriched, he casts a spell to stymie his group's foes... Swift Action: Initiate inimica - Stricken. Stricken:
The direlock becomes energised by eldritch might, her weapon and physicality crackling with dark power. All enemies within the dire zone receive a -1 penalty to AC and CMD against attacks from the direlock’s dire weapon. This penalty increases by 1 for every 4 levels the direlock possesses to a maximum of -5. Standard Action: Cast bane. Tawk is in the doorway/inside whatever building he followed Shatter into.

Tawk will be near either Pierce (1-3) or Shatter (4-6), nominally shadowing them to see if they are indeed the warforged he is interested in finding. Old School Randomizer: 1d6 ⇒ 5 "Hey Shatter, mind if I accompany you? I have an avid interest in ink and skinscribing..." This is not untrue. Almost every PbP character I have has Craft: Tattoo if I can spare the skillpoints, and sometimes if I can't...

After the guards exeunt Tawk lifts his mask, and rubs his youthful face, almost completely at odds to his ornate and baroque armor and mask. "Hmm. Well, at least make sure someone, at least one, stays with you while you finish your scrivening. I'm up for subterranea."

Warehouse: Tell me about it - Tawk gets a bunch of bonuses to effects he has identified and fear effects, so a good save roll would have helped us all. And, at 6th level, he could remove the cowering condition, but he is...5th. Grrr.
@DMB - will Viktor's Flaming Arc ignite the woodwork?

DMB: Gotcha. FYI - I get +1 to my save for correctly identifying it and +2 against fear effects while I still have 1 point left in my dire pool. Which is still not enough...

Pierced: [But totes no pressure, riiiiiight! ;P]
Is this a psionic "spell"? If so, Tawk will attempt to identify it and then siphon it into his dire mantle... Spellcraft/Psionicraft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24 [vs. DC of 15 + "level". If successful, Tawk will siphon the energy, as long as the "spell" is not greater than third "level"...] [otherwise] Will he or won't he?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Piercers: Tawk growls in irritation.
"Fine. Eat metal!" he murmurs, picking up his dire weapon. It crackles with a dread luminescence, reflected in the face of the errant human. Talk steps up and swings with all his might...but his ensorcelled flail bites only the ground... Move Action: Pick up heavy flail.

S'no Piercers: Tawk drops his flail, whips out his snag net and throws it at the human...
Free Action: Drop flail
Schwipp!!!: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 16 [+3 BAB, +2 Dex, +1 enhancement] Ranged Touch attack If hit, Escape Artist DC check to escape snag-net is 22, unless the enhancement bonus applies to that as well...Or burst with a DC 25 Strength check Net:
Spoiler:
Benefit: When you throw a net, you make a ranged touch attack against your target. A net's maximum range is 10 feet. If you hit, the target is entangled. An entangled creature takes a –2 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty on Dexterity, can move at only half speed, and cannot charge or run. If you control the trailing rope by succeeding on an opposed Strength check while holding it, the entangled creature can move only within the limits that the rope allows. If the entangled creature attempts to cast a spell, it must make a concentration check with a DC of 15 + the spell's level or be unable to cast the spell.
An entangled creature can escape with a DC 20 Escape Artist check (a full-round action). The net has 5 hit points and can be burst with a DC 25 Strength check (also a full-round action). A net is useful only against creatures within one size category of you. A net must be folded to be thrown effectively. The first time you throw your net in a fight, you make a normal ranged touch attack roll. After the net is unfolded, you take a –4 penalty on attack rolls with it. It takes 2 rounds for a proficient user to fold a net and twice that long for a non-proficient one to do so.

The Piercing Eyes: Tawk has had enough of this.
"Rag-of-blood-waiting to happen - these 'forged are merely a metal-hair's breadth away from deconstructing you. Tell. Them. What. You. Know!" The direlock rattles his wicked heavy flail in the man's face. Intimidate: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23

Pierce and Co: Tawk looks without emotion at the mutilated corpse, then smiles behind his mask as Viktor checks their fortitude. To the warforged Pierce he replies:
"I only arrived on this landmass today. Although it is...a little hard to tell... I'm not really familiar with local folk. [squints to make sure] Nope. Never seen that particular individual before." he adds helpfully. Tawk grips his heavy flail tight, careful not to let its chains and bars rattle.

Talk struggles to follow. "Let me get this straight - the Syrk are divided into at least three tribes, and now one tribe, the Sharaal are of late, aggressive? And you want to find out why? By sending us? Ok, sure."

Crowded Hut: Tawk blushes under his mask, and hopes Shatter is not following the fact that Tawk seeks errant warforged. Tawk makes no sign he disagrees or agrees with Sidrian's estimation of Tawk's reasons or motivations.
When Shatter speaks Tawk clears his throat, and interjects. "Uh, I too, wish to hear more of... this business that is...the thing you are telling us....about."

Crowded Hut: Tawk had entered with Sidrian, the xeph and Shatter the warforged. Tawk's doom-visaged mask hides his face, but his eyes are clear - eyes that take in the assembled personages, though perhaps with slightly less humility than Atsu. Dressed in the baroque armor and raiment of the direlocks, he listens with growing impatience as Sidrian explains...something.
"Hmm. All...very interesting. But how exactly are we to be enticed to embark upon this errand? I have mine own mission that will necessarily.... be delayed... He pauses in thought as something occurs to him. "A moment please Sidrian. How did you come to choose me?"
Human Male Direlock 5; HP 34/34; AC: 20/T 12/ FF 18; Fort: +5; Ref: +4; Will: +3; Init: +4; Per +9; Spd 30 ft.; Dire Pool: 2/5
Tawk/Shatter: "Me? No, I was just looki...um...Oh. You don't mean me." Tawk looks from the curious warforged to the xeph. Then he looks back at the warforged.
But let's face it - all warforged are kinda curious...well curious to me...

Tawk/Shatter: Tawk gathers his self and belongings, and straightens his mask. He looks at the war forged very briefly before noticing the strange utterance made by the xeph.
"Uh. Yes, Tawk. How did you kn...Wait a minute. How did you...?" Leaving room for Shatter, though I'm sure he'll be suitably inscrutable...

Tawk: Tawk's ears warm, as if a spirit were chiding him. Here but a few hours, and already a quarry.
His orders were...unclear - locate and/or neutralise. But how? Or more to the current point - why? Tawk decides a small amount of chicanery is in order. He makes a show of tripping/stumbling noise, and then falls backwards into the hut. Bluff: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 "My apologies - I was looking for someone and I think they may have found me." he says cryptically, his doom-visaged mask somewhat deepening and muffled.

I'm quite cognisant of the fact that there are five new players (Lore, Shatter, Pierce, Tawk and Atsu) in a game that at last count had two - which is a significant change. Saying hi to Kiana and Helac.:)

Hi Lore! Can you provide a link to your character with an actual link? Interesting backstory, if a little too much gnome for my liking. ;) Don't mind me, I suffer from dwharflingnome hatred. I am seeking treatment, but it's painful and erratic and makes me come out in tourettes style diatribes against the small folk...
