Is this website crashing a lot for anyone else?

map:
"Yes, yes. The areas to which you are headed, in Sunyagir past the Kushtuar river and just north of Kintam Syrk? We have seen a recent string of homicides, which all seem to be connected to that area, either through the suspect's origin, or as a place the victem intended to travel. Or, in this case, someone intent on aquiring a map of the area was targeted. When you go there, we want you help us figure out why this location seems to be inspiring so many killings here, on the opposite end of Syrkarn. Although, if you hadn't actually intended to go there, forgive my asking, for I assumed as such based on the inquiries you made to this cartographer."

Shatter turns his head such that only the Riedran can see his eyes, and a sickly glow emanates from them once more.

Gaze from Beyond, DC 16 Will partial: Those that make the save are shaken for one round, while those that fail the save take damage from the disrupt pattern effect and are confused for one round.

@DMB - will Viktor's Flaming Arc ignite the woodwork?

At the same time, the nearest empty boxes catch fire. The flames aren't yet sufficient to engulf the entire room (or any of you), but they could be soon....

Kiana raises a white eyebrow, and then nods. "I will neither confirm nor deny any plans to travel in to the area you speak of. However, if I were to travel to such a location, and someone tried to kill me, I would have no problem with sending you word of where to locate their bodies, so you might know that they are dead and will trouble your citizens no more." There is no hint in her demeanor that anything other than the deaths of those who attempt to kill her is fated. Given the blood pool on the floor, that may have some good reasons behind it.

She turns to Atsu. "For a human, you were adequate in a fight. I would hope I never am forced to kill you."

Atsu's eyebrows come up slightly and in a deadpan voice he says, "I would hope you are never forced to kill me, too." It takes a moment to register that this is actually a tiny bit of humor.

"In a map shop, almost certainly not. I think those kinds of accoutrements are unlikely in a human village of this size. If there's an alchemist, maybe he or she could mix some useful oil. I don't know what would substitute for a feather pick."

Kiana looks at Atlus, then back to the guards, and sighs. "Humans..." Having confirmed that humans are basically scum, yet again, she heads out into the city again and stretches her wings. She does wait for Atsu before giving a downbeat and launching into the air. "I believe I will see to the oil shop, you may come along if you wish, or wait here for the others, as you please." If Atsu comes along, she sets a slow enough pace with her flight that it's easy to follow along.

As she flies, she keeps an eye on the city....

Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20

Not sure we need to RP getting a bottle of oil. I think the map thing was the important plot point...

Map:
Atsu jogs along the ground, following Kiana. He's not as fast as she is, but he's certainly fit and able to keep going even in spite of his armor.

I'm fine with moving forward to our next significant stop.


map:
You are able to get a hold of oil without any difficulty. It cots 8 silver pieces. Do you also want to buy something else, or are ya good?

warehouse:
Pierce flings a flaming box towards the door...but it doesn't make it out, and the fire spreads to the other side of the warehouse!

Tawk is still immobilized.

The Reidran looks around at the burning building, and calls down
"I see my time here is at an end. I may not be the foe you want me to be. They will come from beneath the Dragon Between. Follow the Voice, and farewell."
The man's hat glows briefly, and the telepath himself vanishes in a puff light, leaving you alone in the burning building.
This combat is now over. Someone might want to carry Tawk outside, since he still can't move for another 36 seconds and the warehouse is on fire.

Pierce moves to pick up Tawk while lamenting the fact that he let the drugs get away, and now the damn building may burn down and cover his best chance to recover them.

My first day here is going into a spectacular failure, rapidly...

The group that followed Pierce isn't back yet. However, you can smell smoke coming from a nearby building....

warehouse:
The fire is in two patches, on different ends of the warehouse, each about 20 feet wide. Putting it out will be hard unless you have a lot of water at hand.

Yes, the door is still clear.


warehouse:
Shatter will attempt to leave through the door, avoiding the fire.

Kiana sniffs the air, and sighs. She turns and looks down to Atsu, from where she hovers 10 ft off the ground. "I will bet you a gold piece that, considering how my life has been going lately, that the others are either in a fire, or have started a fire."

Kiana's prediction is soon realized, as she and Atsu see Shatter, Pierce, and Viktor?, with Pierce carrying Tawk, all running out of a smoking building.

Kiana looks at the blood, the wounds, and the burning building. She glances down at Atsu. Then she lands lightly next to him.

Whispered to Atsu:

"I don't know, it looks somewhat better than I expected. They all seem more or less alive, and more or less in one piece."

Giving a light chuckle, she moves closer to the group. "It appears we need to be in this village a few days, I saved us several hundred gold, for the map, but it requires a few days of me scribbling new maps for the map maker's hut."

Viktor: an ice blast could definitely slow it down, and might be able to stop it with repeated use.

As the two groups recombine, numerous town guards hurry towards a nearby well and begin drawing out buckets of water. Meanwhile, a pair of town guards (one a half-giant and one an eneko) stop by the group.

Kiana and Atsu:
Yes, these are two of the same people you met earlier.

"You lot, wereyu running from the warehouse?"
The eneko calls out,
"Didyu notice who might have done it?"

Viktor will cast Summon Monster 2, summoning a small water elemental, which will use it's Drench ability, which puts out Large fires. To assist as much as he can he will attack the fire with Burning Arc, changing the energy type to Ice.

Tawk is incoherent, and unable even to point or address the watchmen...


Shatter will speak up, lest the silence condemn them.

"There was a human (gives physical description accurately to the best of his ability) that attacked us. In the ensuing fight, some crates caught fire. One of our band is within, attempting to put the fire out. The enemy fled by way of psychoportation."

Pierce looks to the guards, "Indeed, my friend here has accurately described what took place. Tell me, do either of you know who owns that warehouse?"


Viktor:
A few of the town guards run into the warehouse with buckets of water, and help Viktor. Your water elemental and icy blasts are eventually able to put out the fire, though not before almost all of the boxes are charred. The building itself is still standing, though.
When you are finished, one of the guards asks
"I--I don't know who you are, stranger, but we are all greatful for your efforts. Did you see who started this fire?"

everyone else:
"So he's gone then? That's...inconvenient. Well, mebbe convenient for us, if we might not be obligated to track him down. But that would still be an inconvenience of sorts. Or he could be here, nearby. Mebbe he went back to Reidra. Unfortunately, no one in this town is really capable of tracing psychoporters accurately without some time. A lot of clairsentience would be required. Mebbe...mebbe you four ought not to remain in town much longer, for some will be suspicious that it was one of you who did it."


"I have no compunctions regarding remaining here. I also cannot track that sort of movement."

"That won't work, unless you have 350 gold pieces to spare." She tells the rest of the group. "The maps you wanted are expensive, and I'd worked out a deal with the map maker to make him some updated maps, in exchange." She sighs. "I've bought a cartographer's kit for now, so in the future, I can trade pre-created maps. But I'll need a couple of days and an uninterrupted place to work..." She looks around, and nods at the tallest building in the area. "That rooftop looks good, assuming it doesn't rain."
