Michael: You've been a fixture of this community and we are all sorry to see you go, but you're going in the way I can respect most, not just fading away. As a guy who has been where you are, I say go and do what you love. Maybe we'll see you around and maybe we won't, but we will respect and remember you. Best of wishes from all of us. __________________________________________________________

I was thinking Human Bard, but I see that's already out there, so let me offer: 1) A half-elf (aiuvarin) Outwit Ranger / Butterfly Blade, focusing on Recall Knowledge. He'll be assisting the party with Recall Knowledge. 2) Yes. 3) Yes. 4) Yes. This is my preferred way of playing. It offers a chance to develop relationships between the characters.

I get asked this a lot. The answer is "probably, but not yet." Redoing the old stuff feels like being stuck in the past. Like being Sisyphus rolling that stone up a hill. It's more fun to do stuff I haven't before, and learn new things. Currently, I'm working on a guide to monks, because I didn't know that much about monks and wanted to learn. I am definitely going to revisit wizards and clerics, since they've had some pretty huge additions lately. But not yet. I haven't really looked at the Commander at all, class or archetype. And I was deep into the Guardian for a long time, but definitely haven't looked at the archetype yet. EDIT: Hmmm... I guess I have examined the Commander, for the archetype when I wrote the Guardian guide. I think I'd have the same rating and comments for a Fighter with the Commander archetype as I did for a Guardian with the Commander archetype. And I'd remind you that unless you have a Free Archetype, Fighter has really great feats and doesn't need an archetype to be awesome.

I've run free games consistently since 1977. I'm never going to charge for my services and I'm never going to pay for someone else's (convention tickets aside, of course). BUT, I don't care if others do. I make a decent living on my own and don't need the cash. Maybe others -do- need it. Who am I... or you... to judge?

I'll be following the "Cloistered Cleric of Pharasma" build from Tarondor's Guide to the Pathfinder Second Edition (Remastered) Cleric., including the Hallowed Necromancer archetype. House and Heirloom:
Xu Jiang lives in a small woodcutter's shack in the shadow of the Cathedral of Pharasma, on the Southside. His heirloom is a cold-iron chunk worth 10 gp. Xu Jiang's Background: Born in Willowshire to a family well known for manufacturing rice paper used by the monks of the Tan Sugi monastery. Put out of business when the monastery was abandoned, his family became poor woodcutters for the lumber industry. Jiang himself was born in 7088. The birth was difficult and his mother, Qingjin, died in the forest during childbirth. Alone and helpless, Jiang would have died if Old Matsuki had not come swiftly to the sound of cries and rescued him. That, at least, is how the tale is told in Willowshire. Jiang remembers the day. Against all logic and reason, Jiang remembers one thing about the day of his birth. He died. But he also remembers a beautiful lady in gray that cradled him and set him down alive in the forest just before other people arrived to scoop him up. From boyhood, Jiang has been dedicated to Pharasma and though he worked as a poor woodcutter, he devoted any spare time to learning what he could of the great goddess. He was helped considerably by the arrival of Elizeth Candora, who trained him and consecrated him a priest of Pharasma. In fact, his consecration happened only yesterday, just before the start of the Reenactment Festival.

Having a mean of 8.1 and a median of 5.5 (Curse of the Crimson Throne) doesn't look possible if 10 is the max. If 100 people gave the AP a "9", but one guy gave it a 1 and one gave it a 10, the median would be 5.5. I agree that it's a nearly useless statistic, but people asked for it.

Strength of Thousands has actually improved its standing in four years. It's at #4 right now. Abomination Vaults is 19th. Personally, I think the complaints about AV are overblown, but I'm an old-school fan of dungeon crawls. I also like Shattered Star and Seven Dooms for Sandpoint, both of which are dungeon crawls. If you're looking for a dungeon crawl, though, I think Seven Dooms for Sandpoint is the best that Paizo has produced, and the polls seem to bear that out. It's sitting at #5.

The poll (now with nearly 650 respones) reveals that some APs which were previously fan favorites are no longer front-runners while some new front-runners have emerged. Abomination Vaults went WAY down in the polls. Rise of the Runelords fell several places. Season of Ghosts is the new #1 and Wardens of Wildwood is the new last place. I'll post the details in the new Guide when it comes out.

I would love to throw my hat in the ring. I've been really wanting some Kingmaker 2e! I'd like to offer Sir Agravale, the Green Knight. Agravale has spent most of his life as a squire to various knights of Brevoy but when he was knighted a year ago, he set out to seek adventure as a knight-errant. He was raised as a minor son of a cadet branch of the Lebeda family, his only inheritance the weapons and gear he bears, as well as the skills of a fine horseman. In truth, Agravale is a descendant of House Rogarvia, his great-grandfather was one of the few not taken in the Vanishing, though no one in the small family knows why. Agravale was raised on secret stories of that heritage, but gives them little weight, preferring instead to forge his own path to greatness. He travels the land seeking a purpose, helping right minor wrongs as he seeks his destiny. Personality: Sir Agravale is honest, but capable of great subtlety and subterfuge in war. He is not reckless but would be willing sacrifice himself in a great cause. He feels that great things await him. He is not vain, precisely, but he demands proper recognition of his station and is very aware of social status. Character Build I'll be using the "Rogue/Cavalier/Sentinel" build from my guide: Tarondor's Guide to the Pathfinder Second Edition (Remastered) Rogue. Mechanically, the character is a rogue, but in practice he is a mounted knight. He's just really, really good at hitting his enemy's weak spots. Nivatka's Crossing Sir Agravale is at Nivatka's Crossing because he has heard of bandits in the Stolen Lands making travel and trade difficult. As a knight errant, he has decided to dedicate himself to ending this scourge by any means necessary.

Tridus wrote: Looking forward to seeing results, and comparing to how they've changed over time! The problem is that I have a very different format to my questions! This time I merely asked everyone to rate each AP they'd participated in from 1-10. The first time around I had less idea of what would be useful before I began. I asked a bunch of questions that didn't help me write the guide and the most useful didn't ask for ratings but merely to pick their favorite three APs. It's a little bit of apples and oranges! But with over 200 responses already in, I can see that Rise of the Runelords and Kingmaker remain very popular while Curse of the Crimson Throne remains highly regarded. Among 2e AP's, I can see that Gatewalkers fares poorly while Season of Ghosts may take the top spot from Curse of the Crimson Throne. Abomination Vaults is clearly the most reviewed of the 2e AP's. So far out of 230 responses, 149 gave a rating to AV.

I'd like to put my hat in. I'm honestly good with almost any class. I'm thinking a martial class (fighter or rogue) or a bard. You don't think of Red Mantis assassins using bards, but a bard/Marshal would be a pretty strong support character. I've got dozens of online/PBP PFS games under my belt as well has having played in and run several online/PBP campaigns. I think Nivi would most likely be out to have fun. She's probably going to be feeding victories to someone she's chosen as a favorite or losses to someone who's annoyed her. I'd look for a gnome who's more interested in what's happening around the table than in her own wins and losses.

I hope this is an okay place to put this request. I'm running a PF2e campaign loosely based on Ruins of the Grendleroot and I have some an issue that's bothering me and I wonder if you'd mind helping act as my brain trust. Here's the issue, with as few spoilers as I can manage: It's an Underdark campaign wherein the ultimate bad guys are Spoiler: . The PCs have acquired as an ally the White Queen who is a three archmages trying to summon an evil Outer God Spoiler: Anyway, in this campaign she acts as quest-giver and adviser.
vampire and archmage, a former colleague of the three villains. What I want help with is why she doesn't take a more active part in the story? Why isn't she blasting minions and giving the heroes gigantic buffs? I think part of the reason is that if the bad guys know she's around, they'd pay much closer attention and join up to stomp her. But there has to be more. She's not off doing something altruistic, that's for sure. So what's stopping her from being more active (and ruining the game by taking over for the PC's)?
