Apart from my own belongings, I also had a small bag of party loot, most of which is trash, but here it is:

Tiny dagger (d2), tiny shortbow (d3), 19 tiny arrows, a lock of some blondish hair (animal hair?), 3 bluish buttons (none matching), a small gold nugget (worth around 10 gp), 16 sp in silver and copper coins.

I'm sure you'll bury Tarin with his own gear, but he was carrying the rest of that stuff for everyone. His soul wouldn't be disturbed if anyone really wanted those three unmatched blue buttons :)

Hp: 9/11

I'm thinking tanky paladin. Just trying to cone up with an angle...

Hp: 9/11

Soooo...

Paladin or barb for my next incarnation?

That question is predicated on the idea that we need a frontliner... I'm happy to play just about any class, anytime. I'm thinking big tanky pally myself though. Anyone have a mega-hate for paladins?

Man! I write up a cocky, sure-of-himself ranger and its going to get 2 people killed. Sorry Tarin, my apologies.

Pfff it's hardly your fault Kalb. It was a stupid move by me.

Stabilise check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

So that'd be dead unless healed :( Any requests for my next PC? That is, assuming I don't get booted for being crap...

Hp: 9/11

No hassles here GM, the mission statement was "hard mode" :) Should have listened to Muqaq...

Hp: 9/11

Rather than head back to cover, I'll stick with the stranger.

Tarin nods as the man steps up beside him. "Bravery is the key to freedom," he states simply. "But I will be beside you."

Eyes returning to the bird (readying standard action to hit when if it comes within striking distance, and move action to advance as Kalb does), Brother Larvendi rasps at the warrior, "You didn't answer my questions. Perhaps after the battle we can resume the discussion."

Lol job's right then sally forth brave warriors :)

Hp: 9/11

Meh, invertebrates don't count :)

Don't worry, he won't start angling for everyone to start eating tofu burgers or anything. But I'm waiting on the knowledge check to see what kind of bird it is. You know, the noble beast thing and all. If the DM says they're known as bad tempered, ill-omened carrion eaters, Tarin won't have any problem killing it :)

Hp: 9/11

Tarin, bereft of his bow, pulls back to the cover of the entrance.

Kn. nature: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

I'm interested in whether this type of bird is unnaturally aggressive, or intelligent enough to have an alignment. Tarin's not really into killing stuff for the sake of it.

Hp: 9/11

The figure in front of you is of middling height, and is swathed in the flowing white desert garments, including a full hood and veil, common in this land. His clothing, however, is both slashed and badly burnt, ragged in many places, revealing pale skin shot through with pink scar tissue. He appears to be bleeding gently from a few minor wounds.

Shifting his stance so that his blade still points at the great bird, he looks at Kalb for a moment, then rasps, "We seek to cleanse this once holy place. Who are you, sir, and what do you here?" His voice is neither kind nor threatening, though the harsh sound of his voice is not comforting.

Hp: 9/11

You probably didn't remember because I only switched back to the Travel domain after you let us get rid of that pesky 5 in our abilty score arrays :)

Hp: 9/11

Oh ok, I thought my normal 40' move would have made it to striking distance...

Hp: 9/11

As Tarin's bow is back in the chapel, the devotee of the Drunken God rushes forward with a great overhand chop at the bird.

Not completely sure what's difficult or impassable terrain, so assuming I can't charge I'll head to A18 and attack

Curved Blade: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 2 = 21
Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Hp: 9/11

Brother Larvendi gives his head a quick shake. "Hard to tell, but if I had to guess... We should plan for further battle."

Hp: 9/11

Int: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

"Beware!" Brother Larvendi growls. "There are voices among the bird calls!"

Hp: 9/11

Brother Larvendi is similarly outraged, and will help Seif in his toils, both ejecting the pugwampi bodies and using create water to wash the room out.

Hp: 9/11

Tarin sidesteps again to flank with Seif, his blade still humming with the purity of his judgement.

Curved blade: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Curved blade: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Hp: 9/11

Tarin sidesteps to his left, so as not to provide cover to the pugwampi, swinging laterally at the creature's torso as he does.

*blows dice
Curved blade: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Curved blade: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Tarin drops his bow and races to get into the battle. I've placed you where you would have been able to reach with another Nimble Moves. Please let me know if you dropped your bow on the choir platform, or to the ground below.

Hmmm. I don't have my CRB with me - does the bow take a full 2d6 Dmg if I drop it? I think from memory it has hardness 5 and 5 hp... If it takes a full 2d6 I'll drop it upstairs, if it takes half damage I'll drop it onto the lower floor.

I'll use my last remaining [i]agile feet to ignore the difficult terrain, charging the little bugger if I can.

Tarin flows across the pews and rough ground as if it didn't exist, brandishing his weapon as he closes on the pugwampi. "For Cayden, Sarenrae, and freedom!"

Ok, so I've looked through my CRB, I can't see anything about items and falling damage, so I'll have to assume they take full damage. Thus, I'll have dropped the bow upstairs.

Also an attack roll is probably useful. I don't know where the King will be and so whether I'll be able to charge him, so DM please just add the charge bonus if applicable.

Elven cuved blade: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Hp: 9/11

Oh, then just to be clear I'll be looking to attack the King.

Hp: 9/11

Argh, now the king's taken cover I probably need 20 to hit... Going to have to drop bow and run downstairs again. Not winning in the action economy stakes, sorry folks.

Brother Larvendi drops his bow and runs to the ladder, descending quickly.

Sorry DM, on my phone - can you position me appropriately?

Hp: 9/11

Brother Larvendi growls in his throat at his wayward shot before methodically nocking, aiming and loosing again at the leader.

Longbow+Judgement: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Dmg: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Hp: 9/11

Drawing a bead on the pugwampi leader, Brother Larvendi draws deeply, exhales slowly, then releases his arrow, aiming for the throat.

Longbow+Judgement: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Dmg: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Hp: 9/11

Time to abandon beam-walking and mêlée...

Brother Larvendi sheathes his blade on his back and unslings his bow, nocking an arrow, his burning gaze still fixed on the malignant little monarch.

Quick draw would have been a handy feat at level 1...

Hp: 9/11

Brother Larvendi levels his blade at the pugwampi leader, and intones, "By the Drunken God, you shall receive justice for despoiling this holy place, and Cayden Cailean willing, I shall be the one to grant it!" Swift action to activate Judgement (justice) on the King

Larvendi then steadily advances on the little bugger.

Not sure exactly where I am, but if I can reach the King I'll engage him. Assuming I need Acrobatics rolls, I'll use my guidance bonus.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

*groan

Hp: 9/11

Ok, up the ladder I go. Damnit, that was a good shot too!

Hp: 9/11

Assuming I can see the King...
Tarin drops his blade and draws his longbow, nocking an arrow and aiming at the wampi with the glowing weapon, drawing on the guidance of his god.

Not sure if I'm in bad luck range or not...

Comp Longbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Comp Longbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Dmg: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

If I don't have LoS to the little bugger, I'll head up the ladder with blade in hand I guess...

Hp: 9/11

Yep, that type of character would mean that Tarin would be far less likely to need healing as often :)

Hp: 9/11

I may be biased as I'm a jazz musician in real life. And a little roguish as well...

My current bard is mainly an orator (and also a dancer, though that's pretty much in the background). I like to view his inspire courage as a comic book style conversation that explains to the enemy how and why they're wrong and about to get the shite kicked out of them :)

But I can dig that it's one of those things that can break immersion for some.

To each their own! I pretty much like to play every class.

Hp: 9/11

You hate bards? They're my favourite class :)

Having said that, I'd selfishly rather see a tankier type addition, just so I don't have to strap on the steel :) But go with your heart heliopolix.

Tarin stumbles over the Seif, in order to receive his healing. You'll need to use another of your Agile Feet uses to get there in one turn though....

No probs, that makes 3 of 5 gone.

Hp: 9/11

I do like being mobile and all, but unless Gin never returns and we get a tank I think the good Brother may need to get some heavy armour happening.

It's only a feat and a pocket full of cash away...

Seif-al-Din nods as he sees the heavily injured Tarin approach him, and channels healing energy into the wounded warrior

Cheers mate :)

Hp: 9/11

Tarin nods slightly in response to Xanyon's words without looking at him, and, still clutching his torso, immediately stumbles towards the nearest available cover and towards Seif if possible, in case he wants to heal me :)

Hp: 9/11

Tarin staggers groggily to his feet, holding his ribs.

Hp: 9/11

Oh yeah, damn.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Hp: 9/11

10-5 captain.

If there's a clear path across the centre beam Tarin will attempt to cross at half speed, making his way to U-9. If not, he'll move to V-15 and attempt to block the pugwampis' movement off the beam., attacking if at all possible.

Acrobatics if req'd: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Hp: 9/11

Round 5
Tarin wraps a small piece of parchment around the hilt of his sword, murmuring an entreaty to his god. Casting guidance.

For Round 6 I'm going to wait till others post their actions so I can react to them, follow instructions from Muqaq, or whatever.

Hp: 9/11

Having spotted Mr Glowhammer when I reached the top, did I still have a standard action to use? If so, I'll cast guidance on myself.

Hp: 9/11

Nah, just checking how far I could move vertically, stone-throwing beasties aside :)

Hp: 9/11

Tarin shakes his head at the bottom of the ladder, then makes another attempt to get to the mezzanine level.

I want to make it to the top this round - what will this require? Two move actions? Climbing quickly with a -5 to Climb? Whatever it takes, I'll do it :)

Hp: 9/11

Climb: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17]

Hp: 9/11

Tarin shakes the beast's blood from his blade, then after a quick glance upwards to the mezzanine overhead moves swiftly to the ladder.

I'll double move to the ladder, taking a direct route and using agile feet to ignore difficult terrain again - I'm hoping it will get me up the ladder, or close to it.

Hp: 9/11

Thanks Stormwind, I was a bit confused there about what round we were in, good move you made for Tarin :) Crits against pugwampis are very hard to come by though, aren't they?

Hp: 9/11

Also, re: moving to AA11, I now have the Travel domain, so I now move 84' on a double move, and if I need to I'll use agile feet (ignore difficult terrain for 1 round) to get there :)

Hp: 9/11

Well, profile updated - turns out that didn't change a single number on my character sheet :) Will make a difference if I take UMD down the line though I guess.

Actually, if I can have a day or so of grace, I may switch out my Conversion Inquisition back to the Travel domain. I was going to take Travel, but when I took the array with the 5 I went for Conversion as my Cha was totally dumped, and I thought the social skills would still be important... Is that cool? I'm travelling home from vacation today, so I'll be able to pore over my books tonight :)

Hp: 9/11

Nice Christmas gift for us players DM :) It won't affect much for Tarin numbers-wise, but it will make RPing a little easier to have a Cha of 10 - I was finding it a bit tough to be totally unlikeable/socially retarded. I really was trying though!

Hp: 9/11

I was planning on moving (north)east to the outer wall and skirting around that way. Does that get me round about where I'm aiming for? My counting may still be a square or two off though, and I'll throw in an Acrobatics roll in case that gives me the best route:

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Hp: 9/11

Hope everyone had a jolly Boxing Day :) No probs DM, I think everyone's a little cruisy with posting this time of year...
