For some of them, that's a bit more difficult than one might think!

Sounds like something I could get behind! (or in any position for, really...)

I respectfully disagree! There's plenty of LE sorts I've gotten along with splendidly. Most of them I probably wouldn't want to hang out long-term with, but that doesn't mean I hate them!

(Did I mention I like foxes?)

Really, who doesn't like foxes?

Not many, especially once I've had a chance to talk a bit with them!

But more seriously(ish), oddball races are nice. I've never seen any real problems arise from a "special snowflake" character when the player's made some efforts to make the character work with the group/setting and isn't just trying to hog the spotlight. There's a lot of interesting character development that can happen simply from taking a stereotypical view of your character's race and asking "How am I similar to this? How do I differ from this?"

That being said it's not that big of a loss, I have yet to see anything survive a CdG :3

I have! I tried to CdG a sleeping kobold once. Didn't work so well. Granted, the CdG was delivered with a 1d4-3 damage bite attack, so...

Surprised nobody has mentioned Unnatural Lust yet!

Devout Arshean here. Enchantment-focused sorcerer, too. You're welcome to join in on any of my daily worship and preparation sessions you wish. Company's always nice to have, even if it's just to watch!

Ran an infiltration scenario a week ago. The PCs were supposed to pretend to be aspis mercs, go in, and earn their trust. Several of the players had to be reminded several times that they were not aspis agents and were there to sabotage the aspis mission, not complete it...

Guilty of that one!

Smoothed things over all across town. Rest of the party had to keep reminding me. Had to hastily add in at the end of all our interactions "Oh yeah! Uh, by the way we're not actually Aspis Consortium. That's why we were nice and stuff. Those Aspis jerks probably would have stabbed you or something."

Can I pick all of them?

Grand Lodge 2/5

1. Why are you a Pathfinder?

I... ah... well, it sounded like a good idea at the time! See the world, make lasting friendships with your adventuring companions. Good pay. Life-long benefits programme. Etc. etc.

Oh, and at the time I was hearing a lot of stuff about things going on in Varisia, where I had an old friend disappear off to a few years back. I figured maybe it'd increase my chances of running into him.

2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?

Tachibana Tanoshi's the name I was born with. I've borrowed a lot of other names in the meantime. Some of them might have been ripped straight from popular culture. What's this "Earth" stuff you're talking about, though? Is there a particularly interesting mythology believed in on the plane of Earth?

3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?

I grew up in Minkai. I'm not certain the location had all too much influence on me. I never got too involved in the shaky politics they have going on over there, and I never was much for that code of honor stuff all the mighty warriors there seem to think is so important. Besides, I never really was much for the warrioring stuff anyway.

My mother's choice of profession and place of residence as a priestess to Arshea probably had more influence than anything else.

4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?

What do I look like? Are you asking about now, or usually, or by habit, or preference? I look like a lot of things in a lot of ways, usually determined by what suits me best at the moment. Kitsune look like a lot of things, and I've spent most my life perfecting that!

As for what I'm wearing... well, I'm not currently engaged in any official Pathfinder business, so... well, let's just say I've got my "casual wear" on right now.

While out on official business, I'm usually clothed in... well, as with appearance, whatever happens to be suitable for the moment.

5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)

Meeting new acquaintances, making friends, bettering the lives of those I'm around. And a good rousing drink, an engaging party, or even a quiet evening enjoying myself never hurts.

6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)

The inevitability of conflict on these missions the Pathfinder Society sends us on. How depressing it is! Just when I think I've made a new, fast friend... it turns out they were just waiting for their sneakier companion to get behind me and stick a dagger in my side!

7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?

I try to stay flexible and work with whoever happens to be thrown together by the powers that be. Don't really have a consistent set of folk I'm with. Still, it never hurts to have a big strong guy to stand between me and anyone I fail to win over with my natural charm. Even better if the big strong guy also knows the value of waiting awhile for polite conversation to run its course before he runs in swinging his sword, axe, mace, hammer, or whatever big weapon he favours.

8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?

I'm told I haven't exactly been helping to dispel any stereotypes other races have regarding Kitsune.

9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries

There was this one time I thought it would be a good idea to sign up with a temple of Calistria. Figured it would be similar enough to the duties I performed for Arshea back home.

Nope! They have... tools, and devices, and all manner of unpleasantry going on there... Eugh, the very thought sends chills down my spine!

10. What is your most treasured possession?

Some persons in higher positions than myself have requested that I neither discuss that part of myself, nor describe it in any detail while in a public setting. If you'd still like to hear, though, I know this lovely meadow where we could enjoy a picnic and talk about such things...

Grand Lodge 2/5

I usually ask people if they're okay with feeling devilish for a minute before I go tapping them with the better of my two healing wands. (Well, if they're conscious anyway.)

If they refuse that, I've got a backup wand of Cure Light Wounds to appease the folk with rigid implements stuffed too far up their... *ahem*, with "uncompromising morals".

RE crit damage:

I believe you roll up all the damage together, and then decide based on final outcome.

So it's not four separate 1d4-1 rolls. It's 4d4-4.

In your above case, that would be 3+0+1+3=7 damage. Lethal.

In my case, if I--for some unlucky reason!--melee an opponent with my bite attack, I would deal 2d4-6 damage, and would have a high chance of dealing 1 point of nonlethal damage, a small chance of dealing 1 point of lethal damage, and a minimal chance of dealing 2 points of lethal damage.

Regarding the Accursed Halls: Running this thing tonight, should be an interesting time. Thankfully, the group I'm running it for is a PFS Core group who've just made it through Crypt of the Everflame in our previous session, and thus they're all level 2 with enough prestige points they should have a few wands of CLW between the lot of them.

Hmm, that tale wasn't quite as tantalizing as I was hoping!

But, for similar situations that could arise in the future, might I suggest investing in a good set of manacles? Perhaps more than one?

Granted, the Charm Person effect might end up dropping once he realizes you've got no real intentions of making good on the whole "let's have some fun with these" thing. But by that point, the BBEG should be properly secured and it shouldn't matter all too much.

Grand Lodge 2/5

That depends on the sort of wizard you are, I suppose!

Though... in my experience and my very humble experience, wizards aren't usually all too good at that whole 'having fun' thing. Too much time spent with their noses in books, if you ask me!

Grand Lodge 2/5

Oh dear! Of all the things to pick up!

(Where'd you manage to find that? I need to get me one of those...)

Grand Lodge 2/5

NO! I am fabulous for a reason!

Though, I do believe my most... *ahem*... shining moment was that time I smeared an oil of daylight all over myself, then bluffed that scary demon into believing he wasn't going to be able to wink it out willy-nilly with his deeper darkness ability.

But we're getting off track! BartonOliver, do tell about this very interesting situation. Though, if you don't mind, I do think I'll be getting out my journal to mark down some notes. Might be nice to find some new tales to share with my Lord of Delectation after all!

Malag, Tiger Lily: I must respectfully disagree!

Any adventure where we manage to connive our way through, sparing the lives of the misguided souls we met along the way by use of our wit and charm... that's worth any amount of risk we place ourselves in!

Grand Lodge 2/5

Unadulturated Loathing... new season 6 scenario... called the fight as soon as BBEG failed his save.

Oh hey. Hey, that was me. That was my fault! Sorry about that!

Yeah, this spell can be kind of silly sometimes but hey, it does have drawbacks!

To be fair, in this particular circumstance... we'd been fighting primarily things that either died before I got a chance to do anything but cast haste, or things that were 100% immune to most of my sorcerous tricks. So when this guy showed up, I saw my moment to shine and I took it!

Also do keep in mind because of the spell's terribly short range (most of my spells have that failing!) I had to do a totally kick-ass flying vault off a 20-foot ledge, while hasted, so I could maneuver into range to cast that spell.

Anyway, BBEG was totally cool with us tying him up and taking him back to cash in that bounty on his head, right? I mean, I'm still not sure about what the other dudes in the party were planning but I was totally up for taking him in peacibly, maybe after befriending him and stuff along the way! (No hard feelings about filing him with pure revulsion toward the party's Brawler, right?)

But, but... those are the two best things I've got! The beauty with which Arshea's blessed me transcends all mortal expectations! And I just can't help that second part... folks I meet just can't keep themselves off me!

Speaking of... that brings me to:

833. I will not cast unnatrual lust on the dragon, and designate the paladin of Irori as the target of his affection. And I probably shouldn't select myself as the target of his affection either.
834. Really, that spell's just not meant for things like dragons or demons, but sometimes you just have to, you know?

(Edit: fixing numbers because Dreaming Psion threw me off with his quotes!)

Hm, sounds like maybe I'll go for the nondescript "Masterwork Tools of Some Generic Variety" with a +2 competence bonus for the default price, and just bring up a description if the GM really insists on it.

Mostly just wanted to be sure the generic item rules would be fine for Peform: Dance in PFS play, I suppose!

Grand Lodge

I've been digging through books and notes, and I haven't been able to find anything comparable to masterwork tools for Perform: Dance.

Is this one of those things that could fall under the 50g generic "Masterwork Tool" option?

If so, does a uh... 50g masterwork... ahm... "pole" sound alright for giving my day-job checks a little boost?

Grand Lodge 2/5

I've not been asked that. Maybe because I always speak up before there's an opportunity for the question to arise.

I've had plenty of aspersions cast as to my gender, though... but that's okay! It's not exactly something I'm forthcoming with! And with the realistic likeness feat, it's something that changes a few times per scenario anyway...

Grand Lodge 2/5

Legal legal legal. I've got a boon because I came in before the switch in August, but you can just get a copy of the Advanced Race Guide, then bring on the fairyfoxmenpeoplethings!

Sorry. My venture captain's just informed me that I'm not allowed to finish that sentence.

Grand Lodge 2/5

Yep, just the Ultimate Combat archetypes are nixed for Inquisitors. Can't have those nutty Iomedaen folk running around with black powder weaponry!

Grand Lodge 2/5

You ever seen a druid before? Half of them spend more time being all druidy and stuff than they spend as their birth race.

Then again, I spend more time as various humans than as my original form, so I suppose I'm not one to talk.
