Hopefully we won't have any downtime but this a fairly major upgrade and while I'm anticipating everything will failover to other servers correctly, there is always the chance that we've forgotten something. This may cause some slowdowns and we may have some minor downtimes while we adjust things that need adjustment. Wish me luck!
RPG Superstar voting has begun! History indicates it may get a little trying for the site to keep up with the sudden influx of voters and while we’ll be doing our best to help even out the load on our servers, we do recommend, copying your text before you submit a post in case it gets eaten. Generally we recommend doing this anyway for longer posts (on any site, not just ours) to prevent losing work/time put into a longer post. Depending on your operating system and settings you can easily do this by highlighting the text you’ve written and holding down the command, apple, control key while you press the “c” key as well. This “copies” the text. If you lose it, you can hold command, apple, control and press “v” (paste) in a text field to get it back.
Since Sean's no longer about nearly as much to make these statements, here's his usual link to his GenCon recommendations that he usually posts: And I especially recommend taking your vitamins and/or some Airborne/Emergen-C. Should have sent this earlier but had a lot on my mind. =) Other people should speak up about past con experiences that they think might be useful for first timers.
We'll be upgrading our internet connection on Wednesday, July 31st, so paizo.com will be unavailable for part of the day. We plan on starting around 1:30 pm Pacific time. If all goes well, we should be up fairly soon, however, it may take awhile for various portions of the internet to update their information. If you cannot reach paizo.com, you may find up-to-date information at http://status.paizo.com.
Thanks Dave for the preview of the book. It has me really wanting to get my grubby hands on a copy. The area just felt really vivid and that 5th chapter has me wanting more more more. Did they do readings at PaizoCon last year? That should definitely be done in the future. Also, I may have to re-watch Bride With White Hair tomorrow. ^_^ It's made me kinda nostalgic for some Chinese fantasy.
I'd like my gnome to have a fennec as a pet. It seems in character for her, but they have no stats for foxes in general or fennecs in particular so I present a first draft of a little fennec fox. So here goes: Firefoot Fennec
Skills: Fennec foxes have a +4 bonus to hearing-based perception checks and jump checks.
So in Pathfinder AP #21 the PC's are told that they will need to provide some entertainment. I think I'm going to suggest a play and that they should go talk with the Merry Jackanapes who are currently on their way out after a huge performance for someone in the city. They will acquire a play or two and be provided with the opportunity to purchase some props and disguises and then run the whole thing during the dinner. Perhaps I will provide a great dinner and some drinks to get the ball rolling in RL and then build that scene into a frenzy of great roleplaying. I hope I can make a real go of it. I'm no Boomer but damn if I didn't have a blast with that.
Just a little note. Turns out we need at least one player for a PFS session tonight levels 1-2. If anyone is still here or lives in the area from paizo con and would like to play and hold on to that little spark of mad awesomeness for one more day or are just jonesing for a little PFS action in the Bellevue area, you can send me an email: lissag-at-gmail.com We'll be meeting tonight between 6 and 7.
Um, speaking of the Banquet. Immora and I are going together but we couldn't really buddy for anything because she's pretty much GM'ing all day every day and I would miss out on getting to do anything. Is there anyway we can be assured of sitting together? Is it going to be assigned seating? I assume it would.
His arcane bond hardly makes him a spontaneous spellcaster. Once per day, he can pull a rabbit out of a hat if it's needed, no more. It's very useful, but the once per day limitation is a valid balancing factor One of the things I think needs to be specified, I as a GM, wouldn't allow the spells to go above a level you could normally cast. No empowered maximized meteor swarms(that would be a 14th level spell) in my campaign. And no quickened spells above fifth level. I'm not sure how this will play out in the end as the universalist does seem extremely attractive over specialists. If that was specified I think it would do a lot to make this spell seem viable. |
