Storn is gleefully punched in the face by Hagan, and the two live happily ever after.

My RL name is Dave Powell. I trust my identity will not be sold cheaply. And I will go wherever the group does next, and if there's a break, no problems at all. I have enough PBP games to keep me busy. :D

"Feel no shame Hagan, for if you have ne'er soiled your armour you are not a man yet. That said if you want to convert to to a God of not running away we can talk. Let's go show them those books! I can't wait to see the look on those smug aasimar. "

"BRRAAAAHHHH!" hollers Storn as he and his companions are sprayed with demon gore.

"Well done Wuliem! I always get enthused after a good disemboweling."

Yep! Cold Iron.

"It will be done, Jani! I hate this infernal contraption!"

Will Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Storn growls and fires once more up at Dakang, this time with a weak, but accurate shot.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2

Storn takes a five foot step into the room grumbles something, and fires up at the demon.

"GET DOWN HERE WHERE I CAN FIGHT YOU!"

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5

Seeing the demon on the ceiling Storn lets out a groan and pulls out his crossbow, loading it with a cold iron bolt.

"Why don't you damn creatures ever come down to fight me face to face?!"

Whoops, sorry about that! You think I'd learn this game's rules or something at this point.

Storn roars incoherently at the demon, having one hell of a time. Pun intended.

Storn stares at the worm-thing.

"It looks like some kind of worm-thing! Damnit, I had a speech and everything! That's it, I will relish the smell of your entrails you... things that's probably a demon!"

Storn retrieves his pearl of power and recasts bless.

Move to get the pearl, standard to cast bless on everyone. +1 to attacks and fear saves.

Storn mutters a prayer and gives Herman a light shove.

"You're up, Halfshanks."

Touch of Glory, +1 to next charisma-based skill.

Storn grunts. "Let's go have a chat with Dakang."

Storn clanks his way over to the dretch.

Unlikely I'll be there unless you're playing in north Alberta, but the offer is appreciated! ;) I should go back to writing some games. If I keep it to short things like mini-series or stand alone games rather than whole campaigns I can do well. The problem is I try to write campaigns with over-ambitious ideas which can get... difficult to keep going into the high levels.

Storn inhales deeply, coughs, and growls. He jabs Hagan with his wand to cast protection from evil and then draws his greatsword.

Storn's eyes widen as the monstrosity staggers forward.

"What ... what the hell is wrong with this place?!"

Fumbling in his pack, he produces his wand of protection from evil, and leans over to jab Hagan with it.

Move to produce wand, standard to cast Protection from evil on Hagan.

Storn does not partake in the ritual.

What a wimp of a God. No wonder they all got corrupted by a demon.

Hah, yes, Storn would have said this in the crypt to the others, as quietly as he is able before emerging to talk to Di Duang.

Storn stands to the side, observing with an unfriendly expression on his coarse features.

"Freaks, victims, morons - all are fine by me. I'm sure if I was trapped in this namby-pamby dimension for a hundred years I'd act like them, but I will not excuse weakness." Storn harrumphs as the group finish the rubbings. "-I- am not leaving until Dakang gets what's coming. I just want to ensure our job is done first in case we have to break some of the temple with his head."

Storn heads out of the crypt to Di Duang. "So, how, and where do you people meditate?"

Storn glares at Gastidem.

"I am a cleric of Gorum. If you want to go through my holy rites, I'll go through yours. I'll warn you that my holy rites involve punching you in the face repeatedly."

Not bothering with an answer, Storn goes to help with the rubbings.

"Let's finish this list and then go have a "chat" with Dakang. I want a better fight."

Remember Storn has an active protection from evil with +2 AC.

After powering through the attack from the skeleton, Storn plants his feet, roars, and smacks the skeleton into pieces.

"Haha! No blood to smell, but satisfying nonetheless."

Storn looks around the room and stares belligerently at the sarcophagi.

"We have to do rubbings of [i]that[/]?! Also, why are there skeletons here?"

This will occur after Wuliem manages to throw his bomb.

"NObody is going in? Fine! RAAHHH!"

Prepared for the worst, Storn charges into the doorway to do battle with the skeleton where he swings out hard.

The door bursts open and Storn is slammed back by the skeleton's attack. He quickly ignores the wound and responds with pure delight.

"Praise be to Gorum, a fight! How did you know it was my birthday?!"

Storn swings at the skeletal champion with unbridled enthusiasm, but little skill. His blow misses wildly. Cursing, he steps back.

Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 5) + 6 = 14

Standard action to attack, then taking a 5' step to F6.

"If we're lucky it will be some sort of horrible monster! I have not quenched my thirst with blood from the severed hand of an interloper in hours!"

Storn unslings his sword and stomps over to the door. He pauses once more and chants a bless spell.

"Our Lord in Iron, grant us your blessing so we can beat some sense into these morons!"

With that he yanks open the door.

+1 to attack, +1 save vs fear for everyone! Yaay!

Hearing Jani's warning, Storn produces his wand of protection from evil and zaps himself. He then sets back to work.

"Tis some cleric," Storn mutters. "Smashing up your chamber door! Only this and nothing more."

Storn nods over to Hagan. "Let's take that door across the garden then. This fish-tek Demon Lord is bad news!"

As the group discuss everything they've brought together, Storn wracks his brain to think about what's going on.

Storn grumbles. "So my guess about demon worship was right on. Good. That makes this a little easier to solve. Let's just go directly to the crypt once Wuliem is done making his stuff. No need to wait for their stupid rituals. Get more information, confront Dakang, liberate these poor bastards, return triumphantly to our plane. Maybe have a light lunch."

Storn looks keenly at the woman.

"I am a devotee of our Lord in Iron. I am on the proper path. We have been sent here to learn of the Temple. Can you tell us about the crypt?"

Seeing the ritual ongoing, Storn turns around and tries to surreptitiously produce his wand of protection from evil and then cast it on himself. If he gets away with this, he will accept the ritual.

Knowledge Religion to ID the ritual: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

"Thanks Herman, I'd appreciate that," says Storn morosely.

Storn grumbles something at Jani. "Don't let it get out. I have a reputation to uphold and will have to do penance for avoiding a fight."

With that, Storn stalks over to Wuliem and starts beating the poor alchemist with the wand of cure light wounds.

"Stop! Picking! Fights! With! Out! Me!"

Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Although bloodthirsty and ready to knock off some heads, Storn pauses as he looks at the standoff between Turan and the aasimars. He looks evenly at them.

"All right, look, as much as I want to beat sense into you, maybe you'll listen first and I can heal Wuliem's stupid sucking chest wound. I know Korada, and apparently better than you do. Everything here is wrong. Your rituals are evil. Your library is missing key books. The remaining books have been altered - and the alterations reference abyssal locations! Also - something is really wrong with your food."

Storn wraps his fingers around his sword, and grins.

"So, we've got an option here. You can start listening to us, you can get all huffy and I hit you with my sword. What'll it be?"

"What did you demon-worshippers do to Wuliem? ONLY I CAN STAB HIM!"

Storn crams some nuts in his mouth and spits them out just as suddenly.

"What is WRONG with this food?! Wait -- Wuliem? What are you doing?!" Hearing the sounds of what may be violence, Storn eagerly makes his way over to the source of the fight.

"Don't beat up anyone without me!"

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Storn lets out a low grumble, speaking up in his booming voice.

"I am Storn of Gorum, and I say to you that you have been deceived! Explain to me why texts of Korada are missing from this library while the rest of the collection is faithfully preserved? Explain to me why an Empyreal Lord of peace would remove digits? Knowledge of Korada's true ways have been hidden, and what remains has been perverted to some strange ritual of pain! If you have only known this your entire lives, it is simple - these lies began before you were born."

Diplomacy, Aid Another: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

Storn starts, almost dropping the catalogue he's been working on. He grumbles over to Herman and Hagan.

"To the surprise of nobody, this Koradan sect isn't even heretical, it's just entirely made up. I think this Dakang has some explaining to do. Just fair warning, if somebody comes for my fingers I'm removing their lower intestine. Fair is fair. You guys find anything?"

Storn grumbles and begins the cross-referencing. He's looking for three things:

- If it is in Koradan canon at -all- to physically injure someone as punishment.
- If there's any 'gaps' in the texts available.
- If only the Koradan texts are missing or if it's a general mish-mash.

Storn looks around the library.

Cataloguing. I now know what hell awaits me if I displease my God.

"Hey Miraniyoo - there a catalogue here?"

Without waiting for an answer, Storn begins looking up what he can in the religious texts here on meditation rituals and Korada - specifically any kinds of heretical sects that may involve painful punishments.

Storn snorts at Herman's words. "Bah, of course I can read! I just don't like it. When you write it steals the words out of your head and you can't get them back. I'll go look at this library thing anyways. Maybe there's a book on why Korada suddenly decided to start severing fingers."

I'm going to assume that Storn's 20 from earlier on knowing about Korada is enough so that he'd know this is not how Korada do.

"Wait wait wait. Korada is taking your fingers? Even Gorum wouldn't do that - he has the good sense to knowyou need your fingers for punching."

Storn scowls and looks over Gastidem. "What kinds of things do you need to do in order to travel along the path to enlightenment?"

Storn is genuinely discomfited by the peaceful, lovely temple but is well-trained enough to be respectful in the presence of another deity's temple, even if it is a namby-pamby Empyreal Lord.

"Sure, the blessing thing sounds fine," he mutters.

Storn grumbles something but speaks clearly and with some basic manners.

"I'll go to this sermon. Are we free to explore util then? We have come here to learn about the Temple."

Storn grumbles.

"Only if its with Wuliem's head. That much joy can't be healthy."

With that Storn wanders up to the big doors and gives them a shove.

"Who is this Eddie and why is he a blue ball?" growls Storn. He looks around the area belligerently.

"First time I've been to another plane. Wonder if the weather is always this nice."

That is dedication. Storn can't start his day without his verdi double-cream frappumochaccino with sprinkles.

Gah! I forgot about the medium armour thing. Nevermind, I'll fix that. And yeah, totally thinking 3.5

Storn is actually the recreation of a character I played like, eight years ago. And at that time he totally dipped a level into barbarian.

So in that case, Storn will trade in his illegal banded mail for a breastplate ;)

So if I don't buy the plate I'm up to 627.85 - and breastplate is 200. So at 427.85.

"Oh Korada Empyreal Lord of walking poodles and knitting! Bah! Enlightenment - that isn't even a word. What do enlightened people talk about? How great it is to have inner peace? What kind of monster wants peace in this world? We'd kill each other with nobody to fight!"

Storn continues angrily muttering about Korada and his stupid spheres.
