Nevertheless, he does a quick Detect Magic scan of the room, before moving to investigate the door to the East.

Stephen nods in satisfaction, then starts searching the bodies / area for magical loot.

"I left the closest one glitter free... That should help Shredder to have his recommended daily intake of glitter-free goblin..."

Stephen confidently strides into the room, and dumps a cloud of glittery mica upon the three goblins up the back.

"Right then. I guess we should check-out the door at the other end of the corridor."
Stephen then waits patiently for someone else to open the door.

He then moves over to the door on the other side of the room.

Stephen, hoping for a miracle, tosses acid at the oozes.
Acid Splash: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 2 - 4 = 6, for 1d3 ⇒ 3 Acid damage.

Unfortunately, I can Grease and Glitterdust - neither of which is especially effective against oozes...

Stephen then prostrates himself before the statue, following which he follows Polanco.

Note: In case it comes up, Thassilonian is one of Stephen's languages.

I deliberately *didn't* bring a 4th level PC, so we wouldn't be forced to play up.

"Correct. There were also seven realms in Thassilon, each controlled by a powerful practitioner of magic called a runelord. Each treated his or her own realm as a kingdom onto itself. This area of Varisia was likely in the kingdom known as Bakrakhan, domain of wrath, ruled by Runelord Alaznist. Runelord Krune recently attempted to rise again, but the Pathfinder Society stymied his efforts.
Each Runelord was associated with a sin and tied to a school of magic: envy to abjuration, gluttony to necromancy, greed to transmutation, lust to enchantment, pride to illusion, sloth to conjuration, and wrath to evocation. Thassilon came to an end in the great cataclysm known as Earthfall, but it is suspected the Runelords all had preparations in place that would allow them to survive, perhaps even until the present day."

"Historians are suspicious of the fact that there are seven quahs of Shoanti, seven realms of Thassilon, and seven points on the Sihedron. "Excellent. So, at least we won't be defeated by a locked door. Useful to know!"

A tall man, dressed in comfortable leathers and a long, flowing cloak, chews his his lip thoughtfully.
"Alright then... so we are to explore an ancient ruin, and (if possible) eliminate any threats within. Seems straight-forward enough. I can help manage things of an arcane nature, and have some skill with scholarship... do we have any among us that are skilled with locks and cunning devices...?"

Stephen staggers to his feet, the gash in his side still raw, but thankfully, no longer actively hosing blood.
"Thank you for the assistance. It was most timely."
Once the party has finished searching the area, he frowns.
"Well then, if that is all that we can derive from here, shall we get out of this hell hole?"

Stephen breathes a little easier, and colour returns to his face, as Barret channels healing energy into him.

Yeah, the problem is, our only real healing is from wands - we just can't keep up with the damage output of the hobgoblin cleric. Our best bet is to just try and put her down, as fast as possible.

With a frown, Stephen dismisses his Grease, as he does not want to hamper the rest of the party.
Yeah, the level 2 wizard is definitely not going into the room with an (apparently) level 7 negative-energy-channeling divine caster...

With nothing better to do, Stephen tries to aid Polly's AC.
Aid another (AC): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20.

Stephen advances to the square between Polly and Iago, and, from the safety of the hard corner, drops his final Grease on the revealed foes.
Grease, DC 18 Reflex, or fall prone.
