Simon elects to stay in Etran's Folly, becoming the permanent caretaker of the church of Sarenrae. His congregation draws from people of all walks of life, but a disproportionate number are people fleeing unsavory pasts who are looking to start new lives.
---
When I created Simon, it was with the intention of playing him as a rogue with a cleric dedication, and then transforming him into a PFS cleric with a rogue dedication (and charlatan background). I won't be continuing him as a PFS character; this seems like a decent end for his story.

Thank you to redeux/numbat/Tyranius, as well as to our GMs (Deneve / Ilmakis), if they are still reading this. Even though things didn't work out, it was a great game while it lasted.

I would appreciate a wrap-up post as well.
Have any of you listened to Roll for Combat's run of Fall of Plaguestone? Is it good? I know they're a popular podcast, but I've only listened to Agents of Edgewatch (because I have the intention of playing all the others).
Any other Fall of Plaguestone runs worth considering?

Ha, I forgot that the Chronicle for a Level 1-3 adventure wouldn't have anything that's particularly interesting to a level 9 character.
I'll need some time to think about who's going to get this credit. It's not obvious right now.
retired | f.k.a. "Valor Holysword" | human rogue (thief) minister of Sarenrae at the Sinan al-Razima chapel in Etran's Folly
I'm afraid you've assumed me far more competent at planning than I am. The main motivation for not skipping levels is that I frequently immediately regret my feat choices and spend downtime reversing the decision. Quinoline would end up leapfrogging over Level 9 entirely so I just have to estimate the likelihood of me regretting whatever I had planned.
Is there any way to see the Chronicle before deciding or knowing what the items are? Part of the motivation was an assumption that there were some cool alchemy things on the Chronicle.

I will need additional guidance on applying this credit to locked characters.
Can I apply this credit to a character in another game right now, taking effect after that game finishes (similar to GM credit)? Can I defer the application of this credit until after another game after the current one finishes? (Redeux, the intended assignee would be Quinoline Silicate, locked in part 1 of your #2-20/#2-22/#2-24 trilogy.)

I think there is a consensus that Chronicles now are okay.
Is there any sort of consensus on continuing (presumably after Chronicles so people who want out can leave), even in narrative form (e.g., not rolling for anything, and just walking through the important parts of the last book)?
If not, that's okay with me too. I can always listen to a podcast (I think RfC did FoP) to find out what happens.

Gamble Eigirsson wrote: I relayed our predicament to Numbat, also. They said they'd look into it, but life appears to be entangling everyone lately. So, I'm unfamiliar with the process. How big is the ask we're making? Are we looking for an E-mail saying it's okay? Is it a 30 min task? 4 hour task? Are we asking for this to be put on an agenda and brought up at a committee meeting and Robert's Rules must be applied to ensure complete debate task?
Is there anything we can do to help the process along?

Doctor Mono's tagline includes his full name and the fact that he's a Venture Lieutenant of the Cincinnati, Ohio region. Are any of you involved with Org Play to a degree where that could be used to contact him off the boards?
I'll send a PM, sometimes those are linked to E-mail addresses.
Edit: Also I filled out a contact request on Saturday Morning Games with a declaration of war so he knows we mean business.

If Ilmakis isn't around, how do we get Chronicles issued? From a VC?

retired | f.k.a. "Valor Holysword" | human rogue (thief) minister of Sarenrae at the Sinan al-Razima chapel in Etran's Folly
I'm in favor of finding another GM.
One thing I did notice is that the new VC of the Find the Path Discord is a "Deneve Callois" - our first GM's alias. Do we want to see if they are the same person, and if they are, if they are free? Pros: they know the team and the story. Cons: I don't know if it'd be awkward since we never found out why they left.
---
Edit: Cross-posted with Gamble, so I'll explain.
I'm fine with getting the Chronicles, so if that's the way players vote, I wouldn't complain. The game has gone on a lot longer than I thought it would, so there are some things, such as the intention to turn Simon into a PFS character, that won't happen. I had never played a rogue before (one of my motivations for creating him), but since we've started, that's changed, and Simon's big project (converting and building a church) has been completed.
That being said, I'd still like to see the story through, even if it's abbreviated (or we want to skip the majority of the combats, or if we want to proceed without Gamble). I've been pretty careful about spoilers, so it'd be nice story-wise to find the BBE and administer some comeuppance. I assume there's also a plot twist at the end (Vilree's not V? I forget how certain we were about that).

Simon will move to flank with Leofric, stabbing at Green with his rapier.
Rapier, flanking: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 2 = 15
Piercing: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 plus Precision: 1d6 ⇒ 3
He then calls out to Sarenrae, and a shimmering field of energy shields him. AC 21, will Shield Block the first hit.
---
Edit: Cross-posted with Elendyr. If that brings down Green, Simon will delay until Leofric goes so the two of them flank.

Simon lets loose a few profanities, for old time's sake, when he sees the number of orcs behind the gate.
"For Sinan!" he yells.
Readied +1 Rapier: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Piercing: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Simon will try to impersonate a goblin voice. He will whisper it loudly, as if he were not aware of people on the other side of the gate.
"What do you see up there? Is there any food?"

He then readies a rapier strike.

Deerslicer wrote: If I hear them getting here and opening the gate, I will call out, asking if they have food, before they can open the gate. This might be a better plan anyway. The original plan was to open the gate from the inside - if they see anyone climbing over the gate, they're just going to murder that one person while the rest of us are stuck outside.
Simon whispers, "If you see anyone on the other side, drop back down - we'll figure out a solution together."

Simon says a few words at the dedication of the Al-Razima Chapel of Sarenrae.
"Sinan al-Razima was not the first to die in this town, nor will he be the last. He was not more important than anyone else, but he was as important as everyone else. This chapel serves as a remind that all who enter are worthy of redemption, regardless of who they are or what they have done."

There was a shrine, but that wasn't what I was talking about. There was a farmhouse - I think Simon found it as soon as we got to the town. It used to be a chapel, but then got turned into a farmhouse.
I believe the plot hook was a stump in the woods where Hallod used to drop the materials and "V" used to drop his money.
Is the knight/ghost central to the plot, or is it a side quest? I'm fine skipping it (or finishing it later) if it's a side quest.

I've forgotten what became of the farmhouse that was a former chapel (to Gozreh?). At some point, Simon would like to establish a more permanent memorial to Sinan / establish a church of Sarenrae. But tonight being just one night before we apologize to a ghost (and then, IIRC, head out to the stump), Simon will just try to tidy up.
